But have you seen the flying salmon?

This is actually very controversial, since it is a composite salmon. It is a wierd combination of coho, humpy and red salmon, which really urks us Alaskans.

We know our salmon.

So if the plane goes down it looks like a big fish. Thus, giving the sharks a head start on the passengers.:lmao:

I love brussel sprouts but can only get them when we go out to eat because my DW does not like them at all. :confused3

Same here...DW started the "healthy" cooking because she's going to Weight Watchers and imagine my surprise when she made brussel sprouts! Of course they were only for me and DS as she made herself a batch of green beans!

My kids favorite vegetable is brussel sprouts. Here is a good way to try them. Shred or slice them very thin (where it looks like cabbage for cole slaw but thinner). Saute them in olive oil until they just get a little brown on the edges, then squeeze lime juice over the top of them. You won't even know they are brussel sprouts.

Oh, I love to cook & we all love brussel sprouts - that sounds soo good. Thanks! I'm just making up menus for next week - will add that to one of our meals!

Hi, Yeah, the 1989 Loma Prieta 'Quake happened just before the start of the World Series game between the S.F. Giants & the Oakland A's. Some speculated that there was less casualities on the road & bridge collapes than could have been as so many were watching the game on TV rather than out on the road.

Chris

My MIL was just landing at SFO when the quake hit. She told us later she was wondering why the landing was so rough. They didn't know until they got to the terminal how bad it had been.

Hey, look -- it's a real FLYING FISH!

Who said I was sane.:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: When I was young I always wished to be sorrounded by beautiful women. Now I am sorrounded by five of them. All the time ......

:rotfl2:

So how do you keep from drowning in the estrogen tidal wave?

We do WW too but I still cannot get my sprouts :confused3

OK, this is completely OT from anything being discussed here today...but I have a bit of a dilemma...

Last week, we found that we can get a MUCH better deal through Dish Network than what we have now through DirectTV (We currently only have a 1 room DVR with 20 hours of recording space...I know...dark ages :sad2: ) So we're getting a 2 room DVR with MUCH more recording space, plus one extra receiver for just a little more than what we're paying for Direct TV.

Well, all week I've known that the guy is coming to switch them out tomorrow...And I knew that I was going to have to catch up on all of my TiVo'ed shows...Well, I'm going to have to lose almost the whole season of House and ER!!! :scared1:

I don't know what I was thinking!! I won't be able to watch them tonight because I'm taking my Grandma to Macy's. I'm just going to have to lose it all...:sad1: :sad1: :sad1:

OH well, there are more important things in life than TV shows...aren't there?!?!? :rolleyes1

Do you have an IPOD? You can buy alot of shows on Itunes and then watch them that way. It is pretty awesome. We somehow didn't record an episode of 24 and we were freaking out until we realized that we could just download it! Whew...although it wasn't the same watching on the tiny IPOD screen, but it was better than missing it!

Good luck!

I am more of a marathon cake eater than a sprinter.

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: o.k so who eats the most cake over 15 days. hmmm I might do that if I skip lunch. Then of course maybe I could just have cake for lunch.:rotfl2:

With all the talk about tornados, it reminded of two incidents that happened around here. The first one was I guess 12-15 years ago - there was a tornado that came through Newburgh and destroyed part of a school while it was in session. If I remember correctly there were some deaths. Afterwards people in the area wanted all buildings to be strong enough to withstand a tornado or earthquake.

The second one was about 10 years ago - we had tornado warnings in the area and DH was working. It was around 10 at night and I was watching tv while DS was sleeping. DH called me frantic because a tornado had been spotted and was heading in our direction - told me to get Joe, the dogs and his parents and get to the basement and stay there until he called. So I grab Joe, leash the dogs and make my way down to my in-laws apartment where I find them sitting on their front porch watching to storm. So I tell them that a tornado is heading in our direction and my MIL turns to me and says "We know - we're going to sit here and watch it":scared1:. After too much wasted time trying to explain to them that they had to GET TO THE BASEMENT NOW (finally yelling at them at the top of my lungs) they finally came down there. We were lucky, the thing disapated before it got close to us and didn't do much property damage - mostly a few downed trees. MIL complained to DH that I didn't show them enough respect that night because I yelled at them - DH told her that she was lucky I had as much respect for as I did and didn't just leave them sitting there.

Families....gotta love em:lmao:

I'd be more afraid of the blimp shaped like a giant grizzly bear coming along....

Color me a bright shade of "Officially Jealous". No way we could afford the TOAL and another cruise. I am sure y'all will have a good time.
The TOAL has 2 other cruise deposits on it from 2007 and a dummy date in 2008 that were already there and paid for. Makes it not quite so $$$$$ when I look at the balance due. Wasn't it already discussed that monies paid on the TOAL don't really count? :rotfl2: And, looking at other cruises, not being DCL, it makes it a little easier to reach.

:grouphug: Thanks a bunch! I really needed that! It's been a rough day. Just found out my DDad is in the ER in Hackensack...complications from a prostate biopsy he had done on Monday. Four trips back to the doc since and now they're talking about admitting him.:sad2:

:grouphug: for you and your family.

One problem is, this plane only flies upstream.

(Don't you love a picture and post that SPAWNS so many comments?)
