Waiting is difficult, but we're really trying to enjoy the time and savor all of the steps of the process. We're getting the room ready, (and trying to control ourselves and not buy every kid thing we see!!! :lmao: )

I've been keeping a little journal of the whole process that I will someday share with my son or daughter. ;)

That is so exciting. How wonderful for you. I kept a pre-birth journal for each of my kids, and they've loved reading them.

Reading posters comments on events on the ship I have a memory of a small event on the last repo and just reminds you to agree a meeting place before you board the ship if you loose each other.

Two years back kids 8 and 5, we boarded the Disney magic in early afternoon it was already busy, and we went to topsiders for late lunch.

In the queue for the buffet line we were all together, as we had just boarded we had some bags with us for carry on stuff, camcorders etc.

My wife first then DD, then DS then me, bring up the rear.

At the end of the line where they offer sodas between my DD and my DS, a man cut in and poured out a few drinks, I presume he had a table and wanted a refill.

My wife and DD went off, thinking I was just behind, and by the time the man had finished my DS and myself were left behind, he started to run off, I was left with his and my try, drinks and carry on bags by myself.

A lady cruiser seeing this very kindly offered to help carry a tray, I found DS, and he stopped and came back when he couldn’t find the rest of the family.

But DW and DD couldn’t be found.

The kind lady did give up after a time walking around, we found a table DS started his food and drink and I went around and around until I found DW and DD at a table, they had got one, and when we went missing, gave it up to find us and I think we all where going around and round,

Just because one guy couldn’t wait for a refill of soda!

This reminds me of what happened to us on our cruise - we were also at the buffet and DS thought we were behind him and left, when DH and I noticed we went right out but couldn't find him. I stayed at a table right outside the door and DH went to look for him - about 10 minutes later DS comes from the other side and says, "There you are!" I made him stay at the table so I could go and find DH. Needless to say, that was a scarry 20 minutes or so. We usually set up meeting areas at the park but hadn't thought of it for the cruise. Next time, we are setting a specific area, just in case.

they just voted my DH to the head coaching job of the towns 105's he has been a assisant coach since DS started playing since he was 4. tell your DS to stick with it if they chose him maybe hes good enough to get a scholarship its only 1 more year good luck

Congrats to DH. :thumbsup2
Adam has just gine through so much frustration. His last coach was asst. for 1 year and head coach the last 2. I am trying to get him to continue to play. But he is kinda stubborn like me. I think he will regret it later on if he doesn't. He isn't good enough for a college scholarship, but he plays well.

Does anyone have any CHEAP ideas for how a small girl could dress up as a "Dr. Seuss character"

That is TOO CUTE!

Yes, I'm bouncing all around the pages, I can't find where I left off.:sad1:

I never really care for the books that people end up writing after the original author has died. I read all of the VC Andrews books. The ones after her death just weren't the same. I still have them out in the garage. Not sure when I will allow DD to read those. :rolleyes1

Oh, the originals were my favorite!

I love the originals - I saw "Flowers in the Attic" at B&N the last time we were there and was so tempted to pick it up.

Reminds me of one of my favorite pictures from our last cruise. It is not the best photo of any of us, but

LOOK! BAKED ALASKANS!

bakedalaskans.jpg

Do you know that I had to see this picture about 5 times before I "got" it??? I'm a little slow on the uptake.

Yes. As soon as we know for sure that we have a placement, we have agreed that we will both take our max vacation time for this year all at once. For me, that is 3 weeks. So we're hoping to take one week all of us together, then we'll each get to take seperate time (that way we get some good family time, but it will also allow each of us some one-on-one to have time to bond with the child seperately.)

It's a really exciting time in our household these days! It's sort of like being in the last trimester of pregnancy! We're just in that waiting/preparing stage!!

Congratulations! I can feel your excitement:grouphug:

Lisa, while sitting at the adult pool I average reading about a book a day. I bring several with me and get the rest from the small library they have on board. I wish it was bigger.

Where's the library? I read that DCL didn't have one.

I just finished a round of Supartz injections in my right knee. Wasn't too bad, and seems to have helped quite a bit. The doc says that's just about my only option for now, since I have NO cartilage left to try to repair. Only other option is knee replacement, and he says he'd rather see me get a little older first. I guess they only last about 10 years, and he said if I got one now, I'd have to have it done again in the future.

My DH just finished his last shot of Synvisc last week. He did it last year and we didn't hear a complaint for about 8 months. Dr said he is one of the worst cases bone on bone he's seen in his age. (60). He was all set up to do the operation but decided on another round of the injections. We've had really cold weather here for Fl and everyone I know with aches and pains have been complaining but since he started on the injections he's been painfree.:thumbsup2

I posted earlier about getting our duffel bag (32" High Sierra AT3 Sierra-Lite) from TJ Maxx. I was going to get it from my favorite online luggage store but I got these (1 red, 1 black) for about $90 CHEAPER (each)!!! So what if they are the 2005 models, I could pack a body in there! :rolleyes1

Anyway, not one to sit around and wait out the 18 months to see if they got more in, I dragged the family to a couple of Denver-area stores... And boy did I hit the mother lode!!! :woohoo:

Not only did I find the 32" model in blue (DW wanted each of us to have our own color) but I ALSO found the 26" model AND the "2-in-1 Carry-On Wheeled Computer Backpack"...each bag in blue, black and the red! (These are 2005 models because the 2006 line replaced red with gray and the black bags do not have the lime green piping) I also found this 27" bag which is a duffel with a detachable backpack on the top! They also had the carry-on size with the backpack that zips off...you could technically carry-on one extra bag onto an airplane using this bag ;)

Anyway, I couldn't quite decide which bags to keep for our "set"...the 32" of course, but then do we need one or two of the 26" bags? At least one 26" bag to hold shoes--you know, sandals (Keen, sorry you Crocs folks), formal shoes, water shoes, sneakers, DW's snorkel gear. And, of course we need at least one carry on for embarkation day... Since I couldn't decide on an empty stomach I went ahead and bought bags to make a complete 3-pc set in black, blue and red  one color for each of us :rolleyes1 I'll decide later and take back the ones we don't want.

For you folks in the Denver area, here's a hint...the store on University in Highland Ranch (about 4 miles west of Park Meadows Mall) has 4 or 5 bags (32", 26" and carry on) in stock ;)

I'm a KEEN person, too.

I tested out my new duffel when we went to San Francisco. LOVE IT! And being a purple Hawaiian print, it's easy to spot!!
I love eBay! Now I'll have to go back to that seller and see if she has more.

I've never received a "Castaway Club" compass in my life. Didn't know there was such a thing. We did receive a broken CD after our last cruise.

Hey Mine was broke too!!! Misplaced the one from the 1st cruise and our 2nd one was broke. I emailed DCL and they send they were sending me a new one but it would take 8-12 weeks. It hasnt been 12 weeks yet but I will be emailing them again if I dont get it.

Well, kid's clothing is done on Monday. The bedding must have been done over the weekend. Not all of it is marked down though.

Me thinks you need to share all the markdown days with us, please!

I did read a couple of the series after she died. I was surprised that there were such stand out errors in the FITA prequil with things like the color of the dress when she walked down the stairs at the big party.

In reading the Harry Potter books, I noticed errors that JK herself made from book to book...having said that, when ghostwriting under another author's name I would think you would take even more care to make sure that there are NO errors what-so-ever.

Great Deal! I love TJ Maxx for their luggage. Your post reminds me of how stupid I was last winter. They had a whole line of kipling luggage there for about $40. Well, I didn't buy it when I saw it and when I went back they were all gone:sad1: . I could have kicked myself.

you can with ease just add a ball hitch if they have a hole in the bumper but i will have to drive from fl to nj with no lights :sad2: i just looked at car down there i need a junker to drive to the city so maybe ill just buy the car and put a hitch on. with all these issues the car will blow up on the way home:eek:

Once again, I might be slow on the uptake....but what about U-Haul? You could rent one of their small trucks, one-way...they have hitches.

Never received a compass...broken or otherwise :)

Did receive a cute puzzle that I take out when I need a little pick me up.
