Love Cincinnati chili. Made a not-big-enough pot of it over the weekend (not enough leftovers). Four-way -- spaghetti, chili, onions, cheese (no beans for me).

Love Cinci chili....I would always bring back some cans when I visited

Also a character in The Outsiders

hehe....loved the Outsiders....even named my dog Soda Pop because of Rob Lowe.

Can't tell you exact date but somewhere around the opening in 1955. I am the short one, my brother is the tall one in Adventureland.

And another one when I was about 7-8 with Mickey and Minnie.

Oh man.....look at Mickey and Minnie.....wow how the costumes have changed.

Okay, here goes...

I was so wrapped up in reading this morning that I am going to be late for a very important meeting (I have 15 minutes to get there through the snow!)

Then, I jumped up, got dressed and almost went out the door without my BRA! :scared1:

Okay, GTG, be back later!

PS, thanks for the quick welcomes! I really appreciate it!

Poohmom :hippie:

I think in general boys are more cuddly with their moms than girls. Same is true for us, my sister, and many of our friends.....:confused3

Ds will come up and give me a kiss and hug for no reason all of the time. Dd doesn't ever do that. She will really only cuddle early in the morning or at bed time. I want to just grab her and kiss and hug her during the day, and she gets annoyed. I told her the other day that I love her sooooo much and it just gets all "bottled up" inside of me, and I need to let it out. She told me I need to get a bigger bottle! :goodvibes

This has been floating around the net for a while but someone just resent it to me......

And you also find out interesting things when you have sons, like ...

1. A king size waterbed holds enough water to fill a 2000 sq. ft. house 4 inches deep.

2. If you spray hair spray on dust bunnies and run over them with roller blades, they can ignite.

3. A 3-year old Boy's voice is louder than 200 adults in a crowded restaurant. ::yes::

4. If you hook a dog leash over a ceiling fan, the motor is not strong enough to rotate a 42 pound Boy wearing Batman underwear and a Superman cape. It is strong enough, however, if tied to a paint can, to spread paint on all four walls of a 20x20 ft. room.

5. You should not throw baseballs up when the ceiling fan is on. When using a ceiling fan as a bat, you have to throw the ball up a few times before you get a hit. A ceiling fan can hit a baseball a long way.

6. The glass in windows (even double-pane) doesn't stop a baseball hit by a ceiling fan.

7. When you hear the toilet flush and the words "uh oh", it's already too late.

8. Brake fluid mixed with Clorox makes smoke, and lots of it.

9. A six-year old Boy can start a fire with a flint rock even though a 36-year old Man says they can only do it in the movies.

10. Certain Lego's will pass through the digestive tract of a 4- year old Boy.

11. Play dough and microwave should not be used in the same sentence.

12. Super glue is forever.

13. No matter how much Jell-O you put in a swimming pool you still can't walk on water.

14. Pool filters do not like Jell-O.

15. VCR's do not eject "PB & J" sandwiches even though TV commercials show they do.

16. Garbage bags do not make good parachutes.

17. Marbles in gas tanks make lots of noise when driving.

18. You probably DO NOT want to know what that odor is.

19. Always look in the oven before you turn it on; plastic toys do not like ovens.

20. The fire department in Austin, TX has a 5-minute response time.

21. The spin cycle on the washing machine does not make earthworms dizzy.

22. It will, however, make cats dizzy.

23. Cats throw up twice their body weight when dizzy.

24. 80% of Women will pass this on to almost all of their friends, with or without kids.

25. 80% of Men who read this will try mixing the Clorox and brake fluid. :rolleyes1

I can't remember my first trip to DL. I know we went a few times as a kid. I remember a family road trip where we visited Magic Mountain, Knott's Berry Farm, then finally DL. I remember getting so scared by the Haunted House in one of the other parks that I refused to go in the Haunted Mansion at DL. I made my mother sit outside with me while everyone else went.

I have a few pics from a different trip. My mother's boss went down for a convention. She took her son and asked my mom if she wanted to bring me (spoiled baby of the family). We stayed at the DL Hotel. I think we only went in the park 1 day.

I took my son on his first trip on his first birthday. I knew it was mostly a trip for me, not him, but hey, who cares it's Disneyland! We didn't make it back until his 3rd birthday and we've been AP holders ever since (he'll be 12 this year).

hi all! gonna try to pop in here today during naptime...i could really use a nap myself! so i'm hoping the boards here will help me stay awake!
it was a very long nite last nite...my gpa had a ruptured anyeurism (spelling?) on sat morning. they did surgery, and it looked to be like he was doing ok. they expected the surgery to last for 6 hrs, it only lasted 4! they thought he'd be on a resp for weeks...he was off it in 2 days! well, yesterday he had some major setbacks. his lungs and heart were doing very well...very strong! but yesterday afternoon, his heart stopped...but he's tough and stubborn and the docs got him going again! last nite was another story...his heart kept giving out numerous times, and they've had to put him back on the vent. he's not looking good, and we were at the hosp from midnite til after 3 this am. at least he's stable today...and he's a stubborn and strong old man!! which is good for his fighting chances! please keep him in your prayers!

I am one of those stubborn people and I am bound a determined to read this post all the way through. I have been so far just a lurker! I just want to let you know that I am here.

So, for now, here is a little bit about my family. We will be on the EB sailing as well, we have 2 connecting category 5 cabins. It is me, DH, DS15, DD13, DS12, DD9, and DD2 (current ages). I just had to say hello!!!!! I am way too excited for a trip so far away. But it is fun slowly getting to know you all.

Now, my history: I was last on the boards the morning of booking day, and have since survived -35 degree temps with schools cancelled etc, weathered 3 nasty snowstorms (another one right now!) and tried to get caught up at work from being on a business trip to Iowa, weeklong Disney Cruise, another weeklong business trip to Canada (for those of you counting, that is 9 different countries/states and 5 different time zones and that was all in a 6 week period.) So, now that I am finally caught up at work and have the kids back in a more normal routine (as normal as it can be with 5 kids), and I want to get in on the fun!

But I have to confess, I am lost! I am so behind. I am not a cruise newbie (been on 4), I am a DIS newbie. So, I will update you as I work my way through the thread. Wish me luck! So here goes, update #1:

I am on post 555 (pg 36 I think).

(My goals is to read more posts than are added everyday! Next update in a few days!)

My mom's husband was admitted to the hospital Monday for some prostate problems. They did surgery on him today and my mom just called to say that he is currently on a ventilator. They have called in a pulmonary specialist and she is waiting for some news. Please say a few prayers for them.

Sorry to hear about this. My thoughts are with you and your family.

Hello and Welcome Aboard!

The lottery is lucky to get $20 bucks a year out of me. I sell almost 2 million dollars worth a year and we still can't manage to sell one of the "big winners".
I will spend a $1 when the Powerball is over $200 million if i remember.

POWERBALL
Next Drawing 03/03/07
Estimated Annuitized Jackpot $105,000,000
Cash Value $50,200,000

hmmmmmm with a prize like that the first thing is to get rid of the house that mom & dad bought in Florida for their retirement (dad just retired [again] last month) because (a) they bought a place near Orlando but not convenient to WDW (b) they bought a place with no pool :sad2: and (c) they aren't near any kid-friendly destinations so DS will be bored out of his mind when he spends a summer there. Luckily they are waiting a year or so before moving from California...it's a lot different when you have to arrange for a move rather than letting the military do it!

Of course there's the usual setting aside monies for college for DS and my cousin's kids. We'll adopt 2 or 3 kids which means, of course, minivan. Oh and of course DW will get her wish to move back East. Delaware or some smallish town--she has this fascination with Cabot Cove (Murder She Wrote) and Stars Hollow (Gilmore Girls) type places.

Charitywise, I have a friend who works with the severely handicapped, I'm sure her organization could use a new van or two.

And it goes without saying that we're on 2-3 DCL cruises every year! :thumbsup2

Hi, I am Vanetta and am trying to get on this cruise. We are DVC members and hoping that space will come available before this ship sets sail in Aug. 2008. I am friends with Cinderella Mom and family.

Hi, Vee. Told you everyone here is very friendly. Make sure you call your DVC guy today, I heard there were people that got on the cruise this morning.

See you later.

Well, I think that makes you one of us for SURE.

Hope your meeting goes well. :)

That explains the hippie smilie.....

Peace, Love, and no over-the-shoulder boulder holder.....:hippie:

Ditto!

ok here is another PIRATE joke.. I started telling it to my son,, but had to stop.. so i had to tell you guys...

This pirate walks into a bar with a big ship's wheel down his pants. The bartender says, "Excuse me, sir, but do you know you have a ship's wheel down the front of your pants?"
And the pirate says...
Aaargh, it's driving me nuts!!

:thumbsup2 :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :lmao:

That's a good one. :rotfl:
