My first experience at anything Disney was in 11/03 when we took the kids to MK before the cruise. We walked down main street and I realized that the castle was real. I had been told by SWTSKIA (she who thought she knew it all) that it was only a flat prop when I was growing up. I had tears in my eyes when we got in front of it and turned toward tomorrow land. I took lots of pictures. I don't think that DH realized why I couldn't take my eyes off of it.
We went to the Cinderella surprise show that morning. DH & I had agreed that there wasn't a point to standing in line to see characters when they would be on the ship with shorter lines. We had parked the stroller to the right of the stage against the gate since we had been really early getting there. Well, we were getting the strollers & realized that there were people lining up behind us. We looked up & saw Mickey heading towards us with one other family in front of us. I looked at DH and said we are GOING to get a picture with Mickey. I was worried about the kid's reactions since they both didn't like Santa and DS had freaked out the year before when we told him we were going on the Disney ship. They walked up to Mickey checking him out and then he opened his arms to them. DS gave him a big hug & smiled. With a little coaxing from DH, DD did too I was SO relieved. The CM offered to take our picture together.
I have loved looking thru our pictures from this trip. It's been a long time...so thanks for bringing this topic up.
