We met when I was 23, got married when I was 25, and I kept putting off having kids till we were more financially secure. Just wasn't happening so when I hit 30, I said that's it time for kids! Actually I'm glad I didn't end up having kids in my early 20's, because I wasn't ready yet. I might've still acted like my mother & used her as a role model. That's scary! :scared1: Heck we'll still be young when they're all grown up & we can start partying all over again!

I met dh at 19....we lived in the same dorm....coed by floor. Married at 23, had ds at 27, dd at 31, and I'm 38 now. My dh and I have been together half of our lives.....

That is so cool!!! :cool1:

I love listening to our pastors talk on marriage. They've been married over 40 years. They also had their kids young so they talk about how great it is that they have been together longer after kids :)

I keep thinking about the same with my grandparents. They got married when my grandma was 15! (that war bride thing . . going off to WWII). My grandfather has been very ill and my grandmother is just now realizing she might have to live on her own for the first time in 60 years! What a big change!

It's nice to see folks that stick out their marriages. I'm so thankful to have my own personal knight in shining armor!

Oh no! Sounds like Hazel is having a rough spell with the driving.

There have been lots of little fender benders due to the weather. I hope she's ok!

Let's put it this way, I think she has had at least one accident, whether it be big or small, with every car we have had since she got her license about 20 years ago.

i remember my 1st cell phone it was comcast metrophone and it was a bag phone that you had to plug into the cars cig lighter that was in 93 when i graduated

HS or college?

Please say college or I'll feel old.

25 Ways to Tell You’re Grown Up

25. When you find out your friend is pregnant you congratulate them instead of asking “Oh ****, what the hell happened?”

How to know you're Middle-Aged

When you find out your friend is pregnant you ask "Oh ****, what the hell happened?" instead of congratulating them.

...

We've had both boys in the same bedroom since birth. Selfishly it's because I need a separate office in the house for my business. We have thought about splitting our bonus room over the garage to use for half office / half homeschool & play room, but it would be very cramped for schooling. So the boys are going to continue sharing (at DS10 & DS 12). They are really ready for their own spaces, but we hope to move into a bigger house in the next year or two so that should eleviate the challenge . . .or I'll have to take smaller office space (then it costs us money in taxes . . yuck!)

So it turned into a problem at 12? Shoot! I was hoping to keep them together until DS9 hit high school.

I have something to declare.......

I am ANDREW DEREK UK

and I am

A DISOHOLIC!

Hello, Andrew Derek UK. And Welcome to the 12 step program.

Step 1: Step away from the keyboard!!

Don't know the other steps, I'm still struggling with Step 1.

Well, I'm all caught up and need to get back to work. That way I can fall behind again!! :rotfl:

Goof off time is over. Hi-Ho Hi-Ho...

Well folks . . .off to get some black ice tea at Starbuck's (my solitary vice) . . . then to make dinner for DH so he can spend the evening studying for a test . . .the kids and I might go and see AMAZING GRACE in the theater tonight. Sounds like a fabulous story to see (and appropriate for Black History Month . . see always the teacher . . .)

Talk to you later

I was thinking the same thing. They both disappeared at the same time and returned at the same time.

Has anyone ever seen the Captain and Judy in the same room at the same time???

Hmmmmmm ...I dont know what to think about that ???

Thanks, jonesing...I needed a laugh today...
It's been one of those mornings you wich you just hadn't gotten out of bed...:sad2:

I hear ya!!! ;) ......................................:lmao:

Welcome back! I agree with you about viewings. When the favorite of my 12 aunts died they had a viewing for her. My mom insisted that I go see her one last time. "Why?" I asked, "I remember her exactly how she was, I don't need to see her unnaturally posed." But mom wouldn't hear anything of it and made me go. I was 25 at the time and then began to realize, it wasn't for me, it was for her because this was her eldest sister and she could barely walk into the funeral home. :sad1:

However, THE creepiest situation was when my aunt's husband (same aunt) died some 4 or 5 years earlier. The church service was open casket! And what's worse, as the preacher was whipping the congregation up...THEY WHEELED THE OPEN CASKET OVER TO US FAMILY MEMBERS IN THE FRONT PEWS!!! :scared:   It was at that point that my aunt utterly broke down into hysterics! Up until then she was calm and contained but that didn't jibe with the

preacher's plans! He wanted her to loose it because he was working the crowd!

When DW's mother died in a tragic house fire, we had to have a closed casket but DW would have done that anyway because she doesn't like the idea of seeing people posed like that. She got really sad this week because DS won't ever get to know either of her parents. :sad1:

I told my wife that I think now I want to be cremated , and have a Nice picture of me by the earn or something ....I dont think I want my kids to have that same creepy feeling I had ...I know this sounds crazy but I kept thinking he was going to open his eyes and yell booo...Sorry but I guess I have a warped mind or something ...

Hi everyone! Just wanted to say hello as I'm working all day today.

Welcome back Captain. Glad you made it back with sound mind and body.

Fairy Godmother I will be needing some more fabric sites. I'll PM you hopefully tomorrow.

Good luck with your boiler Andy.

Judy is back!

Thanks!!! I arrived home at my afternoon break to find out that the service had just left and I had 9 more Disney Reward Dollars added into my account.......:rotfl:

Since the old hot water heater was put in so long ago, it was not up to the new codes, several extra things had to be done to bring the new unit up to code adding a few extra hundred dollars to the final cost.

Hi Andy

I just want to know how I can be back when I did not go yet?

I don't know Judy, I was just waving Hi There in my post, check with Peter, he is the one that said Judy's back...............:rotfl2:

UGH! I lost my quotes!
Here are some semi-coherent responses anyway:

DSs (6&8) share a room now, they have since they were 1 & 3. We have 4 bedrooms, but it is much easier to have a toy room than 2 kid bedrooms with toys all over both. We really need a guestroom too, since we never live anywhere near family. We asked them last week if they would still like to share a room in our next house. They said yes! We never did the co-sleeping thing, but the youngest likes to get up early in the morning to climb in and cuddle with us.

I don't think I had my kids early or late. DH & I are a year & a half apart - we & I met at 14-15, started dating at 17-18, married on my 22nd birthday & had DS#1 about a month before I turned 26 & DS#2 when I was 27. It works out well for us since DH can retire from the military 3 months before our oldest starts HS. That means we won't have to move them during HS & may actually have the = of 2.5 incomes to pay for two kids in college at the same time! DH will need to go out and get a real job, I'm not going to let him reitre, retire when he is 42!

Besidess...there may be more tripofalifetimes to pay for! SSSHhhhhh . . .
