I lost my very beloved Grandmother last March. Actually lost her a few years before as she had stroke induced dementia. I was so sad that my kids will never get to know her as I did but then I remember the 2 absolutely perfect Grandmothers they do have and I know they will be ok. :)

yeah but you see from location they are way in the snow belt....the cheaper cost of housing goes downhill when you account for those higher heating bills and 4 wheel drives and yick all that SNOW......

You should see the prices in London against income, they are so so high, the average persons house would be well over £250,000. Thats just outside, inside its far higher.

I received some bad news when I woke up this morning and have been trying to deal with that. DH's GM died Wednesday night. I haven't been able to reach him yet but the service wont be for a couple weeks. She will be buried with her DH in Arlington National Cemetary so we have to wait for an opening. Gram was a very sweet lady who I didn't meet until her DH died, but she and the rest of the family treated me wonderfully. We had just sent out our engagement announcements the week before his accident. She has been in a rest home for quite a while since suffering with alzheimer's. She died peacefully in her sleep, so that is comforting.

I just wanted you to know if I am not around much today.

I'm so sorry to hear that. :sad1: :grouphug: to you and your family. :grouphug:

I lost my grandma last year to Breast Cancer, but she suffered from Alzheimer's as well. It was very sad for us to see her go more and more each day, but it ended up being somewhat of a blessing for her. Early on, the Alzheimer's had the most effect on her short-term memory, so in escence, she thought she was healthy as a horse! She wasn't aware that she had cancer. And the doctors said that this actually helped, because when most cancer patients would lose the will to keep fighting, she stayed positive.
She was my hero...She showed the kind of strength that I can only hope to have. :goodvibes

Did anyone who watched AI last night notice that Ryan Seacrest cut off Quincy Jones while he was speaking. What was up with that? :confused3 Anyone suprised by the results? I thought Antonella should've been voted off. Didn't think she sang good at all. :sad2:

I saw that too. And I don't like that Antonella and definately thought she should have went home, maybe next week.

No, I don't have a problem having the family get the Hep shots for this cruise...and we will all get them. I will have to contact BCBS to find out what they do for that.

We have BCBS too. Let me know what you hear.

Me too! Another huge AI fan here, but I haven't really seen anyone that we are really rooting for, not like last year...anyone else noticing that no one is really breaking off from the rest, or is it too early to tell??

London has to be one of the most expensive places I have been to. It seems even worse than NYC prices, particularly now with the exchange rate.

just trying not to get to far behind
lisa:hug: for you and your family
off to work @ the bar ill ketcup 2nite:wave2:

I really thought Lakisha had an awesome voice. She's the only one that I thought stood out from all the rest. It's hard to tell so early though. I remember last year really liking certain ones, but then they'd sing some horrible song & I'd be like, "What was that?"

Hi... I just got caught up in reading the posts and I probably shouldn't post right now, because to be honest, I'm a little upset and bewildered. Yes I did read on the other board that they were having a picnic. Yes I did sign up on the other board and only have one post, as they have a rule about lurkers. I really feel like you are a bunch of fun people, and I was trying to do my bit to fit in by offering to look into this for a gathering. I'm sorry if you thought I was trying to push everyone onto meeting the other board. That wasn't my intent. It seems alot of you know each other from previous cruises, and this was my attempt to belonging. After reading all the responses to my offer to investigate, I don't really feel like one of the wenches on this cruise.

I feel bad and a little guilty typing this right now, but I do want to be apart of this group, and enjoy a fantastic cruise with all of you. Please let me know if you want me to look into this further as an event for the DIS Board pirates on the Saturday or Friday before the cruise on an evening other than the other board.

Smiles everyone :) :) :) :)

Whats special about the pin ??? Is there something going on at CC that I need to know about ???

pirate:

This is the DCL "Pin Trading Cruise" which is based on a theme...this one being Pirates at CC. So, in plain english, there will be lots of pirate-themed pins. If there is a special activity at CC I am unaware of it. No schedule of events is available at this time.

Did anyone see that poor 13 y/o Florida boy was abducted at gunpoint at his school bus stop at 9am this morning? He apparently was found walking a few hours later. Don't know all the details yet. Glad he's alive, but it's so sad these things happen. :sad2:

So scary. I hate seeing this. Too many bad things happening to children. :sad2:

Ouch. Only one knee surgery here. My knee gets stiff in the cold, so I can only imagine how bad your knee must feel on a cold morning. TG for Advil.

I've had 3 knee surgeries and 2 heart surgeries all before age 45.
