WOOHOO Shelley!!! That was a big one too!!!! Congrats!

Go Wenches :woohoo: Go Wenches :woohoo:

You heard what the Captain said, "Only posts ending in 50,000 really count". Leave the little ones to the wenches.

They really are beautiful!

:thanks:

Joel we did the whole research the breeds too. We had 2 dalmatians with us for 12 years. We were having our waterslide installed in the backyard and a contractor left the gate open. They got out and ran for it.Well along the way I guess the pack mentality kicked in and they managed to locate a malpractice attorney and his 2 show shelties. They attacked them. The guy demanded we put them down..it was so sad for us and on top of it all I was ready to deliver any day......

We definitely wanted a breed that was great with kids, gentle and not hyper. We were invited to a Beardie Bash over in Tampa. Imagine 150 beardies bouncing around......Well of course we were sold.....I contacted a breeder and we were supposed to get one of her litter and the mom aborted the puppies. We were in tears and she liked us so much that she called a friend of hers in Denver who also shows nationally and amazingly I got a call the next day that she had kept River out of the last group to show and his testicle never descended so she was regretfully going to have to give him up.........He arrived at MCO 2 days later......

Joel ---

What breeder are your babies from?

River is from Ragtyme Brigadoon

Bailey is from Burlesque Beardies owned by Pat Colombo from the eastside of Cleveland. Pat does a lot for the Bearded Collie Club of America. She had a litter listing in October 2004 and we just contacted her. Never saw a bearded collie in person before in my life and never have been to a dog show (before or after). She was great. She made a portfolio of information on her Beardies and Bailey (birth pictures, weekly photos and such).

As mentioned on Morgan, he's registered full bred Bearded Collie, but from a "puppy mill" type operation. The background we had was that he was born in Dec. 2004, at about 10 months old, he was flown from Missouri to Columbus, Ohio with his brother and adopted by an older lady. The lady had to enter some type of longterm care and couldn't keep them. We couldn't take both, but the Director of the Humane Society felt it'd be better to split them up anyway. He's definately not show quality, and it's not just his testicles :lmao: , his body is very irregular color...mostly white with a couple black spots. .. his face is very Beardie Collie like.

Enna you're so sweet! Actually, my friend has diverticulitis. She was having a severe attack a week ago Sunday........well fast forward to last Tues. she got some bad meds and went into a coma :scared1: Thank Goodness she came out of the coma but now has pneumonia. She has two young kids. I'd appreciate any prayers you guys might say for her and for her family. Thank you!

oh you definitely got my prayers! I will be praying hard for her!

My friends daughter has to do that to. She has really big problems with homework. She will tell her mom that she doesn't have any or that is something easier than what the actually homework is. She has to have her own special agenda that all the teachers have to sign.

Yeah, it's really sad because Ruby really wants to do well and isn't trying to skirt doing homework, she just forgets. If I didn't do the agenda to help her remember- she would genuinely be upset when she forgot to do homework. She especially has a hard time remember things that are "out of the norm". For instance she has math homework every day (including Friday- she's in advanced math) so she can remember that because it's like clockwork for her. Same with practicing her clarinet ofcourse. And a few other things are "fairly" regular, but when it came to something totally out of the norm and ESPECIALLY things that she had to work on over an extended period of time and just "remember" when it was due eventually (like speical projects for various classes)- that's when she'd forget- it wasn't due the next day, she'd forget to write it down, and they weren't reminding them. They'd be like okay 6wks from now on such and such date turn this project in- and then never say another word about it... until it was time to turn it in (and in one class not even THEN! Didn't say a word until the next day when it was late- they had to just remember that 4wks prior she'd given them an assignment/project and to put it on her desk without her saying a word, on that specific date. What was sad is that Ruby did it, had it in her binder, just totally forgot to turn it in because she'd had it done for awhile and she can barely remember some things the next day, let alone weeks earlier! to remember a specific date to turn it in without the teacher saying a word? not happening. LOL)

THOSE are the types of things she has the most issues with -out of ordinary homework assignments and projects due much later to turn in on specific dates without any reminders from the teachers. I know they have to learn responsibility sometime and she's getting close to highschool but frankly when I was in highschool they didn't expect us to be THAT responsible (and she's only in 7th grade). They might say something was due in 4wks but they would like remind us the day before or ATLEAST remind us that day that it was time to turn it in- yanno? Sometimes I think they expect a little much from kids at a younger age than us- not the work, it's not that... but just expecting them to be so responsible and have perfect memories about things like that. If she was more organized on her own and would learn to make notes for herself to remember, keep her binder organized so she'd SEE the homework there to remind her to turn it in/etc.- she'd be fine. You'd think my notes/list making would rub off on her some- but so far not. The only way we can get her to do it is with the agenda that must be initialed by teachers and all I said already. :(

I don't know.. my 8th grader doesn't remember to bring home anything.. even his homework..

We had to get into it with our 7th grader over this. He got a 'C' in Band -- yes, Band, and we found out one of the main reasons was because he never turned in his signed practice sheet. We never knew there was such a thing.

The thing is, he practices almost every night. So he was doing the work and not getting credit b/c he never showed us the form!

:wave2: everybody!

OMG...over 40 pages...you guys certainly have been busy!!! Looks like I'll be skimming/reading the summary.:rolleyes1

Andrew...:grouphug: for you and your lovely ladies! You'll be in my prayers.

BBB...:woohoo: pirate: :woohoo: pirate: :woohoo: pirate:

:cool2: Enna...did you get your 'ashes' today?:rolleyes1 I actually got the real kind today because DDs school had mass today, sponsored by 2nd grade, and she was the greeter.:cutie:

Back to skimming...

YOU GOT TAGGED!! :cool1:

Didn't make it to mass at the kids' school or the belated Valentine party for DD's class because the van slid off the driveway & got stuck by the stream. Since the kids knew I was stuck and no one else was going to see me, I figured I would just skip my trip to Sacred Hearth.

Edited to ask--Did you go to IHOP today?

Oh Enna, that's terrible!! Sorry you missed the kids' party. Hope it thaws out soon in the Frozen Tundra!

Yes, IHOP and The Ashtray! Hell here we come :rotfl:

Dearest Tag Fairy, I have to share an amazing discovery. It has become clear that receiving a tag is a magical cure for PMS. It has taken me from this :furious: (shrieking harpie) to this  (cuddly and lovable). My DH has asked me to extend his sincere gratitude to you for this dramatic turn of events. He has declared your powers "miraculous". :worship: He wishes you to know that he is a believer and he is in your debt. (Chocolates to follow!)

Sounds like every husband needs a Tag Fairy.:thumbsup2 If the tag is a cure for PMS, does it also stop aging?????:confused3 Make sure the chocolates are calorie free.:rolleyes1

Well, this wasn't just cookie dough, but also had French Bread Pizzas, Cheesecakes, Soft Pretzels, Cinnamon Rolls and a few other items. This fundraiser is for the high school musical. No whole healthy BS here, that's for sure!!! :rotfl2:

That sounds like ZapASnak! Those cinnimon rolls are the BOMB!!!! :goodvibes

Shelley how is your DH today. Did the shot and meds help him? Hope so!
