A premium upcharge........

Just to spark a little conversation here......who out of the ones who have room numbers requested specific roomnumbers and who just happened to be given a room number......you get what I mean.......I thought perhaps you had to have requested specifically to get a number.......

My example:
We had just stayed in those rooms that we got and when we booked I asked for those 3 rooms specifically......we got them.

When I called for a cat 8 there were none left on deck 7, only 6024 on deck 6 & 2 open on deck 5. I grabbed to one furthest forward. I was asked which room I wanted at 9:10 am...never told GTY.

I didn't ask -- as a matter of fact, when my TA told me on Jan. 31 that I was cat 6 GTY I decided not to worry about a room assignment-- I was on the ship and had a verandah. Then when she went to pay the deposit the next day (after I authorized the reservation and told her to go ahead) she told me that it showed room 6050, and that she had stayed in that room before and it was a good location. Just luck.

I still think that others will start getting room assignments before the 90 day window -- DCL just was not prepared for the volume of interest they had and things will shake out over time. And perhaps the upgrade fairy will visit those who were patient enough to put up with the wait?

Does your TA usualy send your confirmations? This is my third trip with DU and I've never received one.:confused3 I would say as long as you have your ressie number that works in DCL that you're fine.

thanks for posting that - we are with DU too - and I was begining to wonder....but now I can just relax!!!:)

See I love the tag fairy surprises......its like Christmas Day!!!!!!!!

Congratulations

You guys gave me a nightmare last night!!!!! All this talk about people not knowing their staterooms did it. ;) We got the final bill notice and the cost of the cruise had gone up from 8200 to 9800!!!:scared: I called DCL so upset & they told me that they made a mistake before & since I was assigned a room when I booked the cruise instead of GTY I should have been charged more. :sad1: :sad1: :sad1: :sad1:

Lisa, that is a terrible nightmare. The ones that are grounded in some kind of reality are so much worse than the really "horror movie" kind because when you wake up it takes a while to figure out whether it was really a dream or something that actually happened. But this is definitely just a nightmare, so no worries . . .

Thank you :) That's my baby girl Alanna.
Her is my son Kieran, who just lost a tooth!

Speaking of birth stories, Kieran was born at home. On purpose!

Very cute, he even looks like a Kieran! How brave of you to home deliver.
Precious baby, too!

Mornin' from Alaska. High 13 - Low -3

And I'm sick. I've tried to deny it for 2 days, but I'm sick. Achy, stuffy, hacky oh-my-god-is-it-possible-to-actually-die-of-a-cold SICK!

I hope you feel better real soon, take care!!! ;)

The sun is shining here, it's up to 44* and I'm lovin' it!!! :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

This is the earliest that I have had a cruise dream though. I didn't have any last time.

Oh no! Bummer. I'm not going to get her any then.

For my husband and myself we went with a slightly smaller size- like half a size smaller. you're not supposed to wear them loose. However, for the kids we went with exactly their size and it gave them a little room to grow. Again they weren't supposed to be loose, but I wasn't about to buy them and have them outgrow them before we even went on the cruise! Especially because we sure didn't get them as cheap as $13.99 each, not even close!

I've seen you say this a few times, and I have to disagree with you. Crocs are supposed to fit loose. They are not supposed to touch your feet anywhere.

I took this directly from the Crocs website.

THE PERFECT CROCS™ FIT.
Crocs™ should not fit like other shoes:
They should fit very loosely.
The sides of your foot should not really touch the sides of the shoe.
Your toes should never make contact with the front of the shoe.
Once you have centered your foot on the foot-bed:
You should have about a 1/4 to 1/2 inch of space in front of your toes, behind your heel and when you lift the strap you should be able to comfortably get your finger between the strap and heel.
In other words the fit should be “loose”.
I know that this goes against everything that you have ever been used to in a shoe, but these are the parameters that the shoe was designed to be worn under.
No Pressure points Ever!
