MAUREEN!!!!!! Where've ya been Pal?

I've been trying to ketchup :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Seriously though just been busy. I was on early this afternoon, then went out to the movies to see Night at the Museum. It was really a cute movie (at least it didnt make me cry like Terabitha did)
So now we must plan a trip to the city, the boys have a renewed interest in Musuem of Natural History.
Then we ran to Christmas Tree Shoppe, I had to get Bip her fish extender, thank goodness I didnt wait any longer, they were almost SOLD OUT. Who would of though those things were so popular.
Now I'm home and trying to figure out what to feed the rugrats for dinner.....DH abandoned us this weekend. He went to his Dads in PA. He's right near JackFrost/Big boulder so him and his sublings were going skiing.
Generally I pass on any Inlaw activities.

I just received word a few minutes ago that our DCL CM friend Tanya passed away this afternoon. :sad1: :sad1: :sad1:

The last time I was at the Museum of Natural History was as a class Mom on a trip. DD was in 4th grade at PS 29 (Slosson & Victory). I had 3 boys and 3 girls in my group. I let them each pick two exhibits. Well the boy chimed right in with "The Naked Cavegirls" I was floored :scared1: Not so much that they wanted to see that, but that they had no problem TELLING me that they wanted to see that :lmao: :lmao:

I do love that Museum, but it always makes me think of that! No skiing for you, how about snow tubing? I always wanted to do that!

Oh Andy :grouphug: So sorry. She looked like such a young woman in the picture you posted. My condolences friend.

Nah I HATE skiing I havetried it a few times, just not my cup o tea. I much prefer sunning on a beach somewhere. I really hate snow. Tubing is fun, but its more or less another weekend with any if my inlaws that prevents me from going. Plus we would have to spend $$$$ to stay at a hotel. All my inlaws have multiple dogs and both my DS are extremely allergic.
Of course they believe this is something I made up so we dont have to go to their homes......like I can fake my kids eyes turning red and them screaming they burn and getting red welts all over thier bodies.
They have seen it with their own eyes when we have brought the kids over, but for some reason they refuse to accept it, even from DH and get annoyed when DH says no they are not coming to your house.

Thanks for the birthday greetings. After some family members come by for a birthday lunch, we'll be heading off to my favorite local hotel, the Grand Californian, for the weekend at my favorite place. Hope all of you have a nice weekend, too.

:wizard: HAPPY BIRTHDAY CARL!!!!:wizard:

Have a magical weekend!!!!:wizard:

LOL! OK...we wont tell. ;) I am older than DH by 11 months.

I'm older than my DH by 22 months! We were only 1 year apart in school since I have a January birthday and he has an October birthday (and back then you started Kindergarden if you were going to be 5 by Dec 31) We met in college when he was a freshman and I was a sophmore (I had just transfered so many of my friends were freshman because we were all new together.) When we first got engaged, his mom was concerned that he was going to marry an "older woman" but she seems to have gotten over it ;)

Well, if the investment firms had an earlier deadline for getting their information out, it would be done already.

I heard that several of the firms got extensions because of some issue with recent changes. We were lucky and ours wasn't affected by this.

Lisa, Legoland has lots of specials with discounted tickets and free child tickets. I just had certificates from our local Dairy Queen. Burger King was giving them out for awhile as well. These all expire before next summer, but I'm sure I will come across more this coming year. If you or anyone else here is interested I will try to grab a big stack next time I have a chance.

Mary - we are definately interested in those coupons! We get Joe a brickmaster membership every year and it comes with a free Legoland ticket for him so just Pete and I need one, but every little bit of savings helps!

Thanks!

Hear I thought that I was the only one in this situation. That is exactly how I describe my birth parents. We haven't seen them in 6 years.

There are many of us out there - just not all talking about it.:grouphug:

hey, you almost have my birthday! I think you are the first person I've ever met with a 7/30 birthday. mine is 7/31/69 :)

The govenor of California Named Arnold has my Birth Date. I am not sure if that is good or bad.
Gee BIP make me feel real old!!!!!:sad2: My oldest son was born during the year you were born!!!! I could be your mother!!!!

I want to see that movie!

Wild Hogs looks sooooooooo funny.:rotfl2: :lmao: I saw Astronaut Farmer, it was okay, Number 23. I give it a :thumbsup2 but did not like Reno 911: Miami. Just my opinion.:rolleyes1

I don't like cake walks. We did one for Cub Scouts in the fall and my son came up with the idea for a train cake, so we found this cool train pan at Williams-Sonoma and he decorated it all up for Christmas and then in the cake walk, we ended up with what appeared to be a store-bought cake (against the rules). My son was really upset b/c of all the work he put into his. So we made another one that weekend.

I'll have to dig up a picture.

I have the same pan - promised DH I'd make him a train cake - haven't done it yet.

Its an Omen lol :rotfl:

My DH is allergic to palm as well. Its also gives him the excuse of why he does not attend Mass on Palm Sunday, Ash Wed......etc. What his excuse is for the rest of the year is another story.

Thank goodness there is someone else! Now it doesn't sound quite so strange to me.

Well Good afternoon everyone ...I know I havent been around much cause the MIL has been in town and they left for Frisco yesterday , and Today I got the News that my real Father past away ...We were never really close but I knew him in my teens and early 20's ...I hadnt spoke to him in 14 years cause we had a fallen out ...I wont be around much over the Next week , I am flying up to Buffalo for the service on Monday , hopefully I will be back tuesday or Wednesday. I need to go back for myself for closure , I'm not going back for him or relatives as I have not really talked to anyone in that time as well ....I have mixed feelings , but I think I have to say goodbye for myself ...Melissa or the kids never knew him ....If I sound like I am rambling im sorry , I have had a world of emotions over the last few hours , but I knew I could come here and at least escape it for a moment ....Thanks For listening ...

pirate:

I'm so sorry to hear about this. It sounds like you are doing the right thing by going back and seeking a little closure. Let us know how you are doing when you have the chance.

My vacation of a lifetime fund is a small candy dish filled with pennies on my desk. :sad1:

We have a plastic container that DH cut a slit into that we put all our loose change into. Last trip we managed to save over $300. In addition to doing that, this time I am also keeping all of our bottle return money in a coffee container - figure $15 every few weeks, there's another couple of hundred.
