Mine was in my junk mail. You may have better filters one your email than others do. So don't feel bad. :grouphug: :grouphug:

No, I checked my 'spam' box. Rosario Frank says my 'satisfaction is guaranteed', The Oprah Diet said I can 'shed pounds with Oprah's trainier', Cory Ross wants me to 'save a pot of money, but no love from Mr. Mouse.

I received some bad news when I woke up this morning and have been trying to deal with that. DH's GM died Wednesday night. I haven't been able to reach him yet but the service wont be for a couple weeks. She will be buried with her DH in Arlington National Cemetary so we have to wait for an opening. Gram was a very sweet lady who I didn't meet until her DH died, but she and the rest of the family treated me wonderfully. We had just sent out our engagement announcements the week before his accident. She has been in a rest home for quite a while since suffering with alzheimer's. She died peacefully in her sleep, so that is comforting.

I just wanted you to know if I am not around much today.

So sorry for your loss. I guess I skimmed the boards and missed your post. Our thoughts our with you and your family.:grouphug: :grouphug:

Except for the black T-****s, right?
Uhoh, it's mandatory?? :scared1:

Last summer we did the water park at MM and I don't want to offend anyone but I thought it was the biggest rip-off ever!! If people think the food prices at Disney are expensive, you haven't seen anything:eek:
I think I may have ended up with food poisining too or it was really strange timing that I got that sick after eating at the food court. Anyway, its just my opinion:rolleyes1

Laura
I know what you mean. I haven't been to MM but if it's anything our Six Flags... I'm hearing ya. Prices at Six Flags makes me appreciate how INEXPENSIVE Disney's food really is. I'll buy food at Disney, I refuse at Six Flags- we leave and go eat somewhere... because it's totally ridiculous. It's fast food/take out food (and mostly sitting out in the hot sun) at the sit down character meal Disney prices!

SWMBO preferred this one from the 10-night HC in December:

Oh my... I like that one better even though I prefer milk chocolate over white chocolate- but that one I can get on a cruise?!? Tell me how I can get that on the cruise!

I like it when you quote a multi-quote and it quotes only what the person who did the quoting quoted and not the quotor's original quotes. It's like a stream of conscience post.

(And my explanation sounds like CJS talking to Gibbs in Tortuga...)
And what's funny is I totally understood what you just said. :rotfl:

My DS & DD really would like to go MM and do the rollercoasters too, the little daredevils they are. I'm kinda hoping they forget about it though before we move back. We just keep taking them to DL where the coaster in DCA seems to satisfy them, for now anyway
I just quoted you so I could tell you what a lovely family you have!

We probably won't be flying in until the day before as well and I'm starting to look at hotel options. Where do you think most people will stay, the port area? I'm wondering to how to get from LAX to the port... rent a car, shuttle bus? Good thing there is lots of time for planning:hourglass

Laura

I'm planning on looking into Double Tree in San Pedro for 139.00 a night. It's close to port.

SWMBO preferred this one from the 10-night HC in December:

glass_slipper2.jpg

It was served on the "Prince and Princess" dinner night on the 10-day holiday cruise, which was the night of "Twice Charmed". Hopefully they will have it again on the specialty cruises in 2008.

What was the filling?

I'd have to ask my wife, who is already in bed. I will try to remember to ask. It wasn't ice cream, I don't think, b/c my wife can't eat ice cream and so she wouldn't have ordered it.

Hi Mary, we are planing probably 2 nights at DL. Probably go to the parks 1 day. If Magic Mountain is still open, we may stay 3 nights. DH and DS would go to MM while I found something else to do. I really would like to see some other sites in CA. But time wise it is really going to be difficult to squeeze more than 3 days there prior.

I think if I remember that you posted info about HB a while back in the posts? I know I followed a link about that. The resort looked nice.

Paula,

Yes, that was me posting on HB. It really is a very beautiful hotel but unless I can get a good rate we won't do it. For some reason, we are not tempted to do DL at all. We've got 18 months to think about :).

Mary

Fairy Godmother ... I'm not really the baby of the family, just the baby girl ... I have two older brothers, one older sister, one younger brother who was always the cool one in the family (he had more girls calling him than I had girlfriends call me) and the youngest one had Down Syndrome. My youngest brother is 41 now. He wasn't supposed to live past 2 years old, so I would say he is a success story ...

By the way ... Drum roll please :rockband:

I'm a DIS veteran now ...Post number 500 !!!!

party:

I hope I got this right, as I will be very embarrassed if I'm still a Mouseketeer ETA - No embarrassment ... I'm a veteran!

Congrats on the status of Dis Vetran.:cheer2: :cheer2: My DH was surprised It took me 7 months to make it. I just do not type fast.
:sad2:

We may end up doing that also. Between the cost of this cruise and the time off we may end up flying in the morning before. I'm already stressing about leaving my honey (our fur baby) for two weeks.

Mary

We have a Fur Baby too. A white Manx cat named Kiki. "Grampa" takes care of her when we go on vacation.

SWMBO really wants to do DL, if we can afford. One of our issues with booking this cruise was 2008 was to be our year to go back to WDW. We didn't go last year because we had the 10-day HC booked and we purposely were skipping this year (and now with the 'vacation of a lifetime', couldn't afford it) to go out West, so it'll been three years w/o a Disney park fix and we are used to going every year.

So, if we can afford, we will be at DL for a couple of days before the cruise.

I hope you can get to DL. I know that there are negotiated rates for us DISers at a DL hotel but I don't know which one. I want to say it is posted on the first page but i've read so many darn pages i'm not sure..lol

When we went on the PC 05 cruise it was supposed to be a "vacation of a lifetime" - thats how I sold it to my DH. Fast forward to 2008 and we are booked to do it again. Thankfully, he had such a good time the first time that it wasn't a tough sell.

You are so lucky! I have a wheaten terrier and his name is Beasley a/k/a "Beastley". Well, his name says it all. I have nobody who can take care of him for me. It isn't that he is a disobedient dog he is just high energy and about 45lbs of power. He's been known to knock down whatever is not bolted down.

Is a Manx a long haired cat? I'll have to google her. :)

Edited to add:

When we go away, we have a dog sitter come twice a day to take him out and play with him. Most days, my tenant will let him run around our yard for a bit.

MJ, these guys and gals here accepted (or at least tolerated) me posting here and I've never been in the 'cool' group any time in my life. I know how you felt and felt that way in the first group I posted in.

I think you're cool.......

Laura

We're flying in 2-3 days before to see my folks who live in SoCal...well that's the plan. Now that dad is retired for the 2nd time, they have plans to move to FL--though neither one really wants to move farther away from the grandbaby

However, we are going to stay at a hotel near the port (I see there are some negotiated rates for a couple of places on Page 1. I think the gov't rate may be better but I'll have to check). We'll have a rental car. I just checked and the Crowne Plaza (which used to be a Sheraton as shown on my GPS/mapping system) has an Enterprise desk inside the hotel! I'm not fond of Enterprise BUT their lot is between the hotel and World Cruise Center terminal so we may look into it. The hotel said they will bring the car over so maybe we could just leave it there and take the shuttle to the terminal?

The other major rental locations (Hertz, Advantage etc) all seem to be 6-10 miles away in Lomita, Cypress or Long Beach.
