OK, we have been talking about the trip today. How far is Universal Studios from the DL area? I am looking for practical driving time with traffic. We are considering renting a car to use while we are there.

About 1 1/2 - 2 hours.

There's several rental companies within 1 mile of DL. You may be better off taking a shuttle from the airport and just getting a car for the few days that you would explore outside DL.

Dollar, National, Avis, Enterprise and Alamo are the ones I can remember right now.

I was told SEPTEMBER by one CM and "11 months before arrival" from a second.


However, it seems that the non-Disney hotels might be allowing bookings now.

Yep, Marriot, Hilton, Holiday Inn etc....... have longer booking windows. Expecially at resort areas, which Disneyland and Southern CA are. Good Luck to all those who are planning 'The Rest' of the Repo trip.

Thought I would drop in for a moment. I have been reading the summaries.. I'm hoping to find more time to stay up or maybe things will slow down once the dust settles . We will see. Janet and I dropped the 9/18/07 eastern so I could be more supportive to my sister and go to the airport with her after the western in 07. so we transferred that booking to the 5 day after this . Figure I need the time to sleep after 15 days with all you Party Animals. I am so looking forward to meeting each of you. Lois

Well Good Morning Pirates and Happy Saturday

It's a beautiful (if not freezing cold) sunny day here in glorious NJ! We will be spending most of today chopping ice in front of the house and jumping our DD's car that has died since she has the Flu and hasn't driven it. Well, it's always something........But TG it's nothing Major

Sounds like our day! I'm hoping to get my vehicle out to the road today. Our driveway is over 1000 ft. long, so I've been icebound since Tuesday. (Oh, I think you heard me complain about that already!)

Hi Enna

want to hear something awful? I 'share' ( as if I really did!) my name with my daughter - actually I 'pirated' it away some years back. She just totally stopped using it unbeknownest to me. So one time about 1 month ago - I came online and got jealous cuz I thought that my DD got 'tagged' by the fairy and I didn't when I was trying so hard to come up with 'cute and unusal' sayings. Then last week, she was looking over my shoulder and asked me - "Hey, how'd you put that in under your name." Had no clue what she was talking about until I realized, she didn't do it - and I know that I didn't do it - so I have to assume that we got visited by the tag fairy and I have absolutely no clue how, when or where it happened.

My next thought was that the tag fairy took pity on us and made up some line for us - but my daughter said that they way my mind thinks, it could well be something I said, and only the tag fairy knows......

So the moral of my story - I didn't get to enjoy my tag until way after the fact.....don't know if there's any hope for me. The story of my life! Cheer up - when you least expect it - meanwhile I'll keep all my fingers and toes crossed and I'll even enlist DD's fingers and toes too!

That is too funny! I think that it must have been tagged when we were talking about bugs a few 1000 posts back.

Please don't skim this since my mod hat is on temporarily this morning.

OK...good morning everyone first of all. Although the good natured joking around here is fine, there seems to be a lot more posts containing sexual innuendo lately. I know that most of these references are the result of typos that were difficult to resist commenting on and noone has set out to make explicit comments however this has led to threads being closed in the past. We do have to remember that the DIS boards are considered to be a family board. I know that both of my kids will sit with me looking at the pictures but now DS & DD can read and they will ask questions about what something means. Many have posted that their kids also look at the boards with them. I know that this is one thing that I like about the DIS boards. Just ask yourself if you would want to explain something read here to your child...no matter what age they are.

Thank you and now back to the fun of catching up from last night!

An elderly couple walk into Mcdonalds. They order one hamburger, one order of fries and one drink.

The old man unwraps the plain hamburger and carefully cuts it in half. He places one half in front of his wife. He then carefully counts out the fries, dividing them into two piles and neatly placing one pile in front of his wife. He takes a sip of the drink, his wife takes a sip and then sets the cup down between them. As he begins to eat his few bites of hamburger, the people around them keep looking over and whispering "That poor old couple - all they can afford is one meal for the two of them."

As the man begins to eat his fries a young man comes to the table. He politely offers to buy another meal for the old couple. The old man replies that they''re just fine - they''re just used to sharing everything.

The surrounding people noticed the little old lady hadn''t eaten a bite. She sits there watching her husband eat and occasionally taking turns sipping the drink.

Again the young man comes over and begs them to let him buy another meal for them.

This time the old woman says "No, thank you, we are used to sharing everything."

As the old man finishes and was wipes his face neatly with the napkin, the young man again comes over to the little old lady who had yet to eat a single bite of food and asks "May I ask what is it you are waiting for?"

The old woman answers...



"THE TEETH."

Well, you said if we post pictures of our couches then you would comment. I was just happy to oblige. Strange I know that I have a picture of my sofa on my computer. The pillows are not there now, I was only taking picture of them for my portfolio and website before I packed them up and delivered them to their rightful owner.

I completely forgot about it! I'm going to have to put this on my calendar as a recurring event!

I know I have to make a sticky for the chat so I remember that it exists.
