Don't forget that when a resrvation is changed by adding a person or moving a person from one room to another, DCL considers it a new reservation and may charge the current price for the changed or new person and not the T1 pricing.

By Shelley staying the primary person in that room, her rate & the first child in that room should stay at the same tier. DH & the other child would be charged the current rate.

I don't think you scared her away--she posted that she was going to bed for the night.

What did you reserve for DL? I made a few calls last week and was told that places weren't booking that far out yet.

I booked Howard Johnson Anaheim. Not a DL resort. Too expensive for our blood- we want to save the money for the cruise! it really depends on how things "go" this year whether we'll be able to even afford everything that the cruise involves (plus a few days at DL because we can't pass up probably the ONLY time we'll go there... well I've been there once but it didn't count- I was almost 9mo pregnant, there alone on business at the time, and only walked around in awe for a couple hours- rode nothing, bought nothing, and did I mention only a couple of hours?!?) Jeff can have really good years with lots of overtime, big bonuses, etc- and then he can occasionally have "not so good" years and we're a little tapped out at the moment what with buying a new house, bigger mortgage payment, etc. Yanno? So we'll have to give up the thought of staying at GC.

I called around some of the hotels I had on a list someone here gave me (sorry for not remembering who it was!) :
Carousell Inn
Best Western Park Place Inn
Dessert Inn and Suites
Tropicana Inn
Camelot Inn
Howard Johnsons

I'm sorry. I can't remember which ones would let you book at this time and I already threw the paper I had away. All I did was make scratch notes of prices and all I remember is Howard Johnsons was the cheapest.

DL resorts wouldn't even give me prices but I looked online for august 2007 and it was too expensive for this trip.

So I go away and actually work for most of today & all of a sudden couches are funny?

Now ottomans I get, but couches?

OH & sign me up for Judy's Cabo excursion!

Would it help if I said it was a loveseat?

Even if it wasn't true?
:confused3

OK, so I need to say that I in no way was trying to offend anyone with the shoe thing...
I guess my main train of thought was "If my friends who have kids have given in and bought the character shoes, will I give in too eventually when I have a child?"

I mean, I feel pretty strongly about my child wearing only Stride Rite, but I also at one time said that I was ONLY going to clothe my child in Gymboree and Baby Gap! :lmao: :rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl2:

Don't know about Baby Gap but DW only wanted Ralph Lauren. She's got this not so healthy obsession with the man! LOL When we stayed at Round Hill in Jamaica she found out he owned two of the cottages at the resort...yeah, she tried to get in but they have very good security ;)

She too doesn't like kids' clothing to be mucked up with garish characters, trucks etc. (Except the Polo pony, of course ;))

We also decided to go with cloth diapers--not that we're the Earth crunchy types  --rather, they are more comfortable and in the times he was in cloth, he NEVER had a diaper rash! :woohoo: But we eventually gave in and started using disposable as a supplement.

Nana bought DS some shoes that light up when he walks :sad2: We wanted to avoid those but little Mr. Imelda Marcos was totally into them--as he is with ANY shoes! I can see the day approaching when he's going to butt heads with mommy over some shoes with a funky character on them! popcorn::

Thanks for the info! I will try to call again next week, once the kids are back in school.

:rotfl: Okay, you step out to watch a bit of television and bang your 20 pages behind. So lots of quotes to reply too.

Did you watch when Laura came out of her daze a few months ago. SOOOOO sad. :(
When was I in a daze. Hmmmm don't remember it, it is all a bit hazy. :)

My brother in law recently found out he had colon cancer. He is only 51. Well, today he found out that the cancer is contained - he is stage 1! Thank God it hasn't spread! We are unsure what is treatment is going to be but his prognosis looks good. Please feel free to send some prayers and pixie dust our way :).
Mary
Happy to hear that things are under control. Sorry that he has to deal with this at all but praying for him and his doctors as they work out the best way to attack the cancer.

I kind of liked the idea of the magnetic walls & the suits of armor. :lmao:
:lmao: :lmao: Seriously, DS loves his magnetic walls. I love that I don't have a ton of thumb tack holes in the walls anymore. Sure was a pain to paint though.

Tina--

I'm so sorry for your loss, and for all of the struggles you have been through since your Dad has been gone.
I agree with Enna. Sorry to hear that things have been so rough for you and your family. Please enjoy your trip and get some ME time.

SWMBO has dictated DD will NOT be "Becky". I call her "Becca-Boo", which is apparently okay. Rebecca decided a month ago she wants to be "Becky". Mom has told her no. We'll see how that works.
Yeah we tried that. DD is Elizabeth. She has so many nicknames that we can tell which of her group of friends is calling by what they name the ask for her by. Teachers started calling here Liz and that sort of stuck at school but when we would go to conferences and they would starting talking about Liz, Mark would tell them he didn't know who they were talking about. Or if someone called on the phone for Liz, he would tell them Sorry wrong number.

Sorry, we only comment on photos of people's couches. Put your couch in the photos and then we'll comment. :rotfl:
Pillows018a.jpg
You asked for it. :rotfl:

Woefully behind still.........B***** does not come on mommy's TV.....that was my standard mantra......DS didn't figure it out until he was about 9 or 10.......along the same lines.....the "music" truck sure drove around our neighborhood a lot....he didn't know it had ice cream until we were having our house painted and the painters stopped the truck for an ice cream..:rotfl:
Love that. Which I had thought of that. :mickeybar

I am hoping that DVC ends up having some decent points to stay on site. We did that the last time to stay a PP.
Paula

Hey Crash and Roger are over due.......

Crash probably went to his favorite Chinese restaurant with friends.....Or remember the night he was at a friends house and he was trying to tell them how normal we all were so we tried to behave for 10 minutes......I wonder if we scared them off.........Never heard the report......

Roger is working I think.....

Well it's definitely something to "look into" if Kristina really doesn't mind. I suppose it would depend on the price difference. Our price for our cat 6 was pretty close to first tier I believe, and so was the cat 11. So moving them around to cat 6 at the current rate, plus whatever cat Kristina is staying in (putting Ruby there)- who knows if it would even be cheaper. Sure would be nice if we could save some though.. it's so darn expensive having a family of 5 sometimes. I tell ya.

But what would happen if like Ruby got on their nerves or something and ended up sleeping in our room? Would our next room be Mickey/DCL jail?

I am FINALLY caught up with this thread. Not sure how long that will last. GO OUT AND HAVE A NICE DAY WITH YOUR FAMILIES TOMORROW PEOPLE!!! ;)

I know I will be!
So y'all be nice and stop saying I'm lurking when I'm not! :lmao:

We have basketball game for DS, then another one an hour after that (DD cheering at that one) and then we have Boy Scouts Blue & Gold banquet. I may get online for a short time before the banquet but no promises, DH is working tomorrow and ofcourse no school on Saturdays. :confused3

So the rest of you, do what Lisa says, so I won't have to spend FOUR HOURS catching up again! (and that was only with me gone 4hrs. Ironic that, huh? So basically if I'm gone 12hrs I'll need 12hrs to catch up? :scared1: )

Okay so no website to reference... and K went to bed already.
So how old is her daughter or will be on the cruise?

They only care for their rosters and the "fire code" IN practicality you can sleep whoever you want in your room.... For example we can slep all 5 of us because my DD sleeps in the King with Dale and I , and the kids get the bunks...(NO NOT THE BUNKS:scared1: :scared1: ) For DCL booking purposes we usually place some of them on my moms room...

Okay, I was just wondering because you never know what could happen. The girls not hit it off, etc. And I know that WE wouldn't be bothered sleeping all in the same room, we're close like that (did I say close? I meant cheap LOL) -but didn't know if that would get us thrown in the aforementioned Mickey jail or something.

on the last cruise- cat 10 (didn't even have a balcony!) DH kept going to sleep in the kids room with them- and then later I'd have to have him come get in bed in our room (connected room). it really would have been NO BIG deal at all for me to just crawl in bed with him in that one room. No idea why they make them sleeping 4 only. When you have kids, you really can sleep more than that in there. LOL (and same for resorts, hotels, etc. I was very pleasantly surprised that the hotels near DL had reasonable prices for rooms that slept 5!)
