8/17/08 Captain Jack's Repossession Repo Cruise to PC thru TPC Part 5

Darthrugby's Chocolate Chip Cookies

2 sticks(1 Cup) unsalted butter
cream with:
1 Cup Sugar
1 Cup brown sugar
Add and mix in:
2 whole eggs
1 tsp vanilla extract
Add and mix in:
1 tsp salt
1 tsp baking soda
2 Cups plus 4 tbs flour
Add and stir in:
1 1/2 cups chocolate chips
1 cup chopped walnuts if desired

drop by rounded table spoon onto parchment paper lined cookie sheet
bake at 375 degrees for 13 min.
makes 36 large delicious chewy cookies
cool and enjoy!

i just looked at the website and just realized that DISr's have all the SPH's on deck 5 Starboard....

So at least when Winnysis hears kids trying to open her door she'll know who to blame.

I know I won't be able to keep up with all of y'alls postings.... But, I promise to read the synopsis on a regular basis. ANd I will try to post on a semi regular basis!

I also promise to get more involved when there is less then a year to go.

We are a family of 5 (7 but, our two oldest won't be comng on this cruise!). It will be dh & I, 17dd, 10ds & 7dd (ages at cruise time).

I used to post alot on the main DCL threads here -- and the GF board. We went on our first DCL cruise in Oct '05 and were HOOKED!!!!

We've gone on 3 so far -- Oct '05, Feb '06 & 10nt in Sept '06. Some of our friends from the 10nt are also on this cruise.

That's ok. I think my entire family are experts at the "eat the hot chocolate chip cookie oooh-ahhh-that's-hot" technique. You know....the one where the cookie is continually shifted among the fingertips to prevent prolonged exposure (as if the 3 seconds it takes to eat the cookie could be considered prolonged...).

Well, I missed it, but congrats Monica!!

I got to cleaning and vacuuming (and I was actually enjoying myself! because I SO never get to clean house on a weekday, because usually if I'm off work, I'm either sick or on a Disney ship!! ) and lost all track of time and here we are at like 20,100 or something like that! Good grief, you blink your eyes around here, and SHEESH!

So here's a question to wile away the time between pirates:

If the story of your life was made into a Hollywood movie, who would play you? Go ahead and cast the rest of your family too if you are so inspired.

Keep in mind that the actor doesn't necessarily need to look like you. They just need your 'vibe' & be able to convey their 'you-ness' to the world.

That is so funny because our son is Robert R. R**** the III (not sure if you can post names here ) he has been called "R-cubed" for years. But maybe he is actually "R-cubed to the third."

My son's name is also Robert R. although he then has a different middle name and a last name that does not start with an R nor is he the III or anything like that. But his name IS Robert R. before all the rest.

Congrats on perfecting that technique....my family has perfected the "bite of hot pizza-cheese like molten lava" technique. This is the one where you balance the pizza on your tounge being careful not to let in touch the roof of your mouth, and take deep breath in and out in an effort to cool it.

Finished my last batch of cookies. Made 6 dozen. chocolate chip. No nuts. Some kids have allergies.

Hope everyone is feeling well. Wish I could send some cookies to everyone who is sick.

My boss brought in a batch of his homemade chocolate chip cookies today. He also makes them from scratch, boy are they good. His does a great deal of baking for Christmas as well. I think he said he made about 2000 cookies this past Christmas. He comes from a very large family, plus he brings cookies in for all of us in the water department!!!

You will definitely have to give me a lava pizza lesson on the cruise. I always end up with that awful burn on the roof of my mouth.

Oh...that reminds me...I'm supposed to be making pizza to feed hubby & the kids when they come in from the snow.

I've been away a few days...sick. Must have caught a little of what BBB was slinging! Went to the doctor yeterday and it seems I have what he calls "Bronchial Sinusitis". In other words, I'm coughing up a lot of c**p! He gave me a second dose of stronger antibiotics,says it'll kill anthrax Anyways, guess I'll have to go back to work tomorrow. Been kinda nice being home.

p.s. As you can see, I still haven't figured out this banner thing yet!!
