our school won't let us send in homemade!!!:sad1: I got to have fun with it for K and 1st - but then they switched. Now we can only pick up store bought!!! Not as much fun!!!

They did the same thing here last year...mid year. :( I use to make cupcakes for the holidays for the classes but I refuse to pay the outrageous prices for them at the store.

Thank you

Yeah Its tough to judge sometimes ...but this is actually the first day of school he has missed ...well actually he didnt miss it since he was there ...so maybe that wont count against him ....

Here as long as they are in school until 11:30 am it counts as a day there. Did you forget about a few days back in December that he wasn't in school? ;)

I do not know if our storm is heading your way??? Right now the winds are at 25 miles an hour. It is snowing so hard I can't see across the street. We are only talking 6 inches but got that much already. The temperature is 16 degrees. It is a blizzard!!!!:sad2:

Oddly, my daughter's school in Schaumburg did not cancel today. Did district 54? I kept her home anyway b/c our district did call off school and I wasn't going to drive to work anyway.

Well, I can say for certain that we here in the midwest have NO accent! :lmao:
Isn't it funny how we all think that our way of speaking is the "right way"? :rotfl:

SO I'm still at work. I'm debating leaving. It just keeps coming down. It's not supposed to stop until this evening. SO now my dilemma is do I leave now and risk the bad road conditions, wait and see if the salt trucks/plows come through, or just stay here and wait until later when DPartner can come rescue me?!?! :lmao: (she drives a nice front-wheel-drive vehicle :thumbsup2 )

Be careful!

Still not caught up, but I just back from hairdressers, scoffed down some chicken, broccoli & ziti for lunch, & now I'm off to the gym. I just wanted to say thanks for the well wishes for my DS. He is feeling much better, fever is down, stomach ache is gone, & even his congestion has improved. He hasn't stopped talking so I know he's feeling a lot better. If it wasn't for the leg cramps, I'd say he was in perfect health. I guess he crawled upstairs to brush his teeth while I was gone. I asked him why he was so deperate to brush his teeth, but he just said, "I dunno." Glad to see sickness hasn't affected his good hygiene.

There was a question a few pages back about the leg cramps, but the doctor never said what type of virus causes the leg cramps, but just that it was a virus. Perhaps my son is now prone to it? Anyway, "it's just a virus" tends to be the catch-all phrase my doctor uses.

I see Todd's son is sick now too. Hope he feels better soon!

Try to catch up later! :)

Since Daddy tends to swear, especially when driving, I have a whole slew of these I must use. Like 'fudge' or 'frick' or my favorite 'firetruck'.

"Frick" is my new fav - I actually use it all the time now instead of something else. It is so much better than some of the other things that could inadvertently come out.

B-cubed was talking about flinging something last night after one of my comments. Did she infect all of us on the DIS?

I think that's a shame, yo can't even bake wholesome treats anymore, I consider cupcakes wholesome. We have that here in NY also in the public school system. In private schools you can still bring in home made stuff.

I don't think I could handle this year round schooling thing. I'm sure that I would get used to it but, YUCK!

Well, I sure hope that everyone's babies/fur babies feel better soon! :grouphug:

I think I will brave it and head home early today...

BE CAREFUL OUT THERE!

(Okay, I now have the soundtrack to Hill Street Blues running through my head).

We are only getting cold rain now and I don't think that it will freeze but now I need to go out & pick up the kids at the bus stop. I take a friend's DD home too since she has 8 mo twins who are usually keeping her busy this time of the day.
