Good morning! Hope everyone has kept warm and toasty. DD has off from school again today. It's about -3* with wind chill. Well, off to do some reading.

I was originally referring to "M" and Diane who disappeared as soon as I came...... but you and Roger were here so I needed to change my greeting.

If I knew you were coming....I'd have stayed up for a while!

School was NOT delayed today but should've been. It took me about an hour to chip away at the ice on my van. I had to take a bunch of neighborhood children with me, because cars were stuck or couldn't start. It was not a fun morning.

Just to let everyone know, I have unpublished the website for right now. I am sorry, but thought this was the best thing to do for the moment. I will post when it is back up.

I may be late but we had a very unique wedding.
DH and I had lived together for 11 years. We had 2 small children, owned a house for 8 years etc. Just forgot to get married along the way.
We had a Halloween party every year for my nieces and nephews that was coming up. We decided why not use that as an opportunity to get married.
I called 1-800-find-a-judge and arranged to get married that weekend. We did not tell anyone except my DH to be's mother. She is not the surprising kind. We all dressed in costumes. I was Arachania the Black Widow Spider Bride and my DH was Captain Hook. 1st DD was Minnie Mouse and Baby 2nd DD was a Disney Princess. All family dressed in costumes for our Halloween parties anyway. Well when the party was almost done, the doorbell rang and I said "By the way this is more than a Halloween party, it is a wedding". Everyone was screaming and laughing so much is scared my Judge Wapner type judge half to death. I mean it took a lot of encouraging to convince him we were not crazy to have a suprise costume Halloween wedding. It was perfect!
Now I am sure you have a mental picture of us at this point but we are very normal, educated, conservative family that just likes to have fun.

Ok, I'll share my story..

I had just moved from the city to the burbs and wanted to meet other single people, so i joined a ski club. First trip, I am are on a bus traveling to the ski area until 3 am. I was sitting with another lady and 2 guys were in front of us. They had the beer, so we shared it with them and talked to them all night. One of the guys was a ski instructor, so he taught me to ski that weekend. and then we started dating. We dated for 7 months. I had a job offer in Philadelpia and had accepted. He showed up at my door during his lunch hour and asked me to marry him and not leave. We have been married 17 years.

Welcome to everyone that is joining this cruise. Congrats Captain Crash for the Also I hope everyone is staying safe and warm in this cold spell that most of us are having. Thanks for the warning of the spam's. I didn't go to work today because of the icy mixture. So I'm sure I'll just delete them out.
If anyone is interested, here's my story. My DH didn't get down on one knee either, we were on vacation in Maine visiting my relatives for a family reunion. We were driving to get to my Aunt's house and passed a tuxedo place and I just mentioned that we could rent his tux here and get married as we had already discussed that we wanted to get married. He had said to ask my Aunt what we needed to do. I actually had to ask him if he was serious as I was only joking, Surprise. We arrived at my Aunt's house and DH said don't you have something to ask your Aunt so I asked her. Now everyone else in both of our families knew he was only going to propose while on vacation, we had our wedding in only 3 days. Thank goodness I had my Aunt to arrange a lot of stuff, we got my dress, some flowers, rented tuxes and prepared food. We go back to the hotel room we had and then DH said I might as well give you this (the ring) now since we are getting married. I think it was nice as I had more flowers that I didn't have to pay for as I had a whole potato field in bloom for my pictures.
Now the really strange part of this, he was my brother in law, he had been married to my stepsister although that was 4 years before we started dating. We will be married now for 16 years this July, been with him for 18 years. Wow I feel real old now.

Captain, Politician - Pirate? Both pick your pockets, but in this day and age I think pirates are more honorable.

ITA!! Both of our dogs are rescue dogs....and they are THE BEST!!!

Speaking of dogs....I called yesterday to get Beau's blood results and they weren't able to get it to the lab yet because of the weather. They said they would call me today....I'm so nervous!

Yes it was. Totally not cool for a fellow cruiser to do.

I'm still catching up with posts. (Yeah, like I'll ever really catch up.) I don't understand what the problem is. I would assume since the e-mails were included in the to line of the original e-mail from lbgraves that we were encouraged to contact other members of the cruise. If that wasn't the case, why wasn't the e-mail sent as a BCC as the other e-mail was? If we weren't supposed to contact each other via e-mail before the cruise, why were all our e-mails listed on the website?

Were there more than just the two e-mails sent? I only got the two regarding another website in which to connect with fellow cruisers. I was actually pleased to be invited as I am of the mind you can never have too many resources.

The last cruise I went on had a message board here, a myspace account, and at least 3 other websites with details regarding the cruise and invitations posted in at least 2 other message boards to join the fun here at DIS.
