Second job was cancelled due to weather so I get to be home!!!!

This weather is gross though..it's a mess out there.....

I'm originally from LIC/Astoria/Jackson Heights area.

I am orginally from Corona - not too far from Jackson Heights. I now live in College Point - where the streets never, ever get plowed.

Oh, and I also forgot to add (in case it wasn't already bad enough) that he asked if he could use MY credit card to order jewelry for his "girlfriend", and he would give me cash!!!!
(Because he didn't want the lawyers to see on his credit card statement that he ordered jewelry from Tiffany's. )

Needless to say, I promptly replied "NO!".

Just imagine how out of control he would be if you didn't stand up to him in the beginning!!!

Where is Andy?

It's been the weirdest winter in MN - almost no snow to speak of...No big storms that I remember...Cold of course.

We are going on the 7 day eastern for spring break - we leave 3/31. This year is so weird I wouldn't be surprised if we have snow...

Count us in to bring some good tasting wine bottles...I love wine but don't drink it anymore as I am trying to be HEALTHY!! HOW BORING!!!

But I will def forget it for this cruise. I can't WAIT to party with you people on PIRATE NIGHT!!!!!!!

He is in southern NJ.

I went to St. Agnes in College Point! And I know what you mean about the plowing - school closed every time it snowed.

Hi all!

I just got a call from Andy (Verandah Man) & he wanted you all to know that he lost power & is unable to post. Apparently there was a car accident & a pole got knocked over. He doesn't know how long the power will be off, but if it goes into this evening, he will be getting a hotel room. I guess it's really snowing there again & the roads are awful, but the temp is really dropping in his house & they don't have a fireplace, generator, or anything.

Sending best wishes that the power comes on soon for Andy!

Dianne - If this lasts for a few hours, you might want to call Andy back & tell him to turn his faucets on (slow drip/very small stream) so his pipes don't freeze.

It pays to know someone in Alaska! We had to do this in Dec. when it was -20 & our power was out for 6 hours.

I've been MIA for a while. Tried to sort of stay up to date, but it isn't easy.
