So here's a question to wile away the time between pirates:

If the story of your life was made into a Hollywood movie, who would play you? Go ahead and cast the rest of your family too if you are so inspired.

Keep in mind that the actor doesn't necessarily need to look like you. They just need your 'vibe' & be able to convey their 'you-ness' to the world.

This is really hard - not for me but for me to pick out the rest of the family, or maybe not - here goes:

Me - Mira Sorvino
DH - Robin Williams
DS - a mini Robin Williams (just like his father - that old saying that the apple doesn't fall far from the tree is so true!)

Oh, and with little kids, they'll repeat things they didn't even hear. My mom would drive my (then not quite 2 year old) DS to a Kindermusik class once a week. On the way there, she would point out all of the flags, and all of the trucks. After a while, DS started using the F sound instead of the TR sound at the beginning of "truck". I was not a happy momma.

Before we had kids we were at a cookout with a bunch of people from DH's office. One of the 3 yos there was quite talkative. His dad asked him questions to get him to say certain words. He asked what his favorite kind of truck was. Well, that sweet little boy smiled and said a dump truck...at least that's what he meant to say. What he said sounded more like dumb **** (just like your DS said truck). It shocked us at the time but now we now know not to be surprised by anything that comes out of their mouths.

My alma mater, Ohio University, played in the game. Mardi Gras + Ohio University (consistent top 10 party school) = The Perfect Party Storm.

Oh how fun!

Need to add: OU is also a fine academic institution with many nationally ranked programs including one of the top journalism schools in the country.

I often pondered this while crawling down Court Street at 2 a.m.
