Mike - didn't the saleperson AND your wife tell what an AWESOME investment a tanzanite would be? :thumbsup2

And that it will only increase in value when you plan on selling it at a future date? :lmao: :rotfl2:

Hey, that's exactly what they told us, too .. . definitely going to prep DH for an emerald on this trip . . .:goodvibes:goodvibes:goodvibes

''Sir, why do you call for your red shirt before battle? The captain replied, ''If I am wounded in the attack, the shirt will not show my blood and thus, you men will continue to fight, unafraid.'' All of the men sat in silence and marveled at the courage of such a manly man as Captain Bravo. As dawn came the next morning, the look-out spotted not one, not two, but TEN pirates ships approaching from the far horizon. The crew stared at the captain and waited for his usual reply. Captain Bravo calmly shouted, ''Get me my brown pants.''

:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Cheers!

Saw this joke on another website. Thought it fitting with the conversations from a week or so ago:

Long ago lived a seaman named Captain Bravo. He was a manly man who showed no fear in facing his enemies. One day, while sailing the seven seas, a look-out spotted a pirate ship and the crew became frantic. Captain Bravo bellowed, ''Bring me my Red Shirt.'' The First Mate quickly retrieved the captain's red shirt and whilst wearing the bright red frock he led his men into battle and defeated the pirates. Later on that day, the look-out spotted not one, but two pirate ships. The captain again called for his red shirt and once again, though the fighting was fierce, he was victorious over the two ships. That evening, all the men sat around on the deck recounting the day's triumphs and one of the them asked the captain, ''Sir, why do you call for your red shirt before battle? The captain replied, ''If I am wounded in the attack, the shirt will not show my blood and thus, you men will continue to fight, unafraid.'' All of the men sat in silence and marveled at the courage of such a manly man as Captain Bravo. As dawn came the next morning, the look-out spotted not one, not two, but TEN pirates ships approaching from the far horizon. The crew stared at the captain and waited for his usual reply. Captain Bravo calmly shouted, ''Get me my brown pants.''

Are ya Listening FairyGodmother.........NO new (that means purchased)Jewelery on this trip............ Hey I gotta try............ :worship:

Actually, I think you're right. We tried to match it up to a pendant necklace last month, and we couldn't touch anything they showed us. The problem is the ring is pretty big, and it really is a beautiful dark purple (and we got it at a fantastic price). Everything we could afford this time was too small and too light. But when they saw the ring on her finger, they must have thought we were big spenders. They kept giving us wine and mixed drinks in every jewelry store. I'm surprised we didn't come home with any more jewelry!

I laugh because I told my DH the same reasoning - and its worked for the last 3 stones he bought me - I'm gonna keep using it until he catches on - :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :ssst: Don't tell him OK :lmao:

Seriously though - had that happen to me - bought the best ever tanzanite stone which was just over the equivalent of 3.25 karats in Alaska of all places - can we mention where on here? Turns out at the time that Alaska was in the running to take away the Carribean's reputation as the place to get tanzanite at a good price. A month later we went on the Disney Western? In Cozumel they had the same Exact ring with a stone 1/2 the size that I was wearing for DOUBLE the price. When I told them how much we paid for it -they were astounded and readily admitted we got a good price. I guess DH's lowballing the price worked for us. Good luck in standing your ground - they are harder and harder to find. In the meantime, if you have daughters - can't leave them out :rolleyes1 :rolleyes1 :rolleyes1

No - I've decided it just is too much for me. I'm pretty sure that I'm going with plum ES.

I've decided - I am definately doing the plum ES. I found some photos and it is perfect for me.

Now I just need to get some photo's from Todd so I can get it perfect!

We bought DW an Emerald ring in Cozumel on out last DCL trip. Got a outstanding deal............glad I had all that Tequila..before I knew it.........we were done shopping and back on the ship. Didnt realize what we spent until the next morning................:goodvibes

I think we should start a Swabbies support group in order to handle the depression all this jewelry is gonna cost us.

I can here it now..........Look how much money we saved..........its a chance of a lifetime..........

Ive always said that Mickey Mouse at WDW turns you over and shakes you until all your money falls out............then you get sent home. Begining to feel that the merchants are the same way when you visit on a Cruise Ship.
