I can see that catching up with this thread is out. (I know you told me not to, but I didn't believe you.) Seems like just keeping up with it is going to be a chore, too. A happy one, but still wow! Im taking notes as I read. Forgive me for not quoting the originals.
Happy Birthday to everyone who's having a birthday.
Even though I haven't a clue who any of yous are, Happy Birthday anyway!
Scrapbooking - um, no, not for me. Yes, I can create ideas and do some crafty type things, I just choose not to. My craftiness, in this context, is basically limited to preparing people I'm traveling with for a vacation. Basically separate daily itinerary brochures, photo albulm at-a-glance itineraries, planning packets, that sort of thing. All the stuff so I don't have to answer for the 100th time, what are we doing next?
As for sewing a costume, I don't think so. I have a hard time finding the elevator buttons on Beat Street let alone threading a needle. I'm probably the one who would walk out of the sewing room with my fingers sewn together and needles poking out of my fingertips.
However, 3 very generic and simple pirate costumes do reside in closet for when the need arises, such as birthday parties,
MNSSHP, P&P Party, or just a lazy summer Saturday afternoon.
Spinny rides are way out for me, too. I cant even LOOK at a carousel. When I take my niece to the local amusement park, I watch her go around the first cycle and time how long it is till she arrives again, then I have to look away, count, then look back in time to wave. If it doesnt go in circles, Im ok, but wow.
My brother is a minister and his kids are involved with drama, too. They are currently the leaders of an overnight summer camp on Sebago Lake and do a lot of the drama type stuff. Its good for the younger ones, but the older nephews seem to have lost interest.
Spoke with my parents today about the cruise. After trying to explain this group to them, my father, a rather stern and imposing figure who used to scare most people when they were first introduced, and is also a member of the Coast Guard Auxiliary with his own sailboat, thinks its absolutely hilarious that were going to LA to repossess the Magic and bring her back to Florida. He cant wait for the next Flotilla Meeting to update everyone on his future adventures.
Cheers!
