I don't have any ideas for you (unless you wanna swing by Texas LOL) but you have made me start thinking! Our first WDW trip was during the holidays and short notice (just found out DH was being "forced" into his vacation time by way of lay off- so instead of taking the money we had to take the time off and had nowhere to go, no family to spend the time with, etc. so we hopped in the car and head to WDW- before I even found this board... LOL We were so naive then but I digress) and since then our trips have been on short holidays or the kids missing some school (or trips to WDW in the summer but without DH) but you just now made me realize- this cruise is starting in the summer for us. DH isn't crazy about Disney anyway (hence the reason we've made some trips without him) so now I'm thinking hmmm, I could potentially drive down earlier with the kids, without DH losing even more days off work and then he could fly to meet us shortly before the cruise (like the day before- I wouldn't cut it too close). That's definitely something to think about!
I'd have to find out some info about where to leave our vehicles during the cruise though. I don't imagine if you stay at a Disney resort and go on a Disney cruise that you could leave your vehicle there?
And on the way back- oh nevermind... no can do. My vehicle would be in CA but I couldn't take the time to drive back! The kids have school then! Well it was a thought... I guess maybe rental vehicle to leave in CA and fly back? I dunno.
The logistics of my feat do need a lot of ironing out.
