I don't have any ideas for you (unless you wanna swing by Texas LOL) but you have made me start thinking! Our first WDW trip was during the holidays and short notice (just found out DH was being "forced" into his vacation time by way of lay off- so instead of taking the money we had to take the time off and had nowhere to go, no family to spend the time with, etc. so we hopped in the car and head to WDW- before I even found this board... LOL We were so naive then but I digress) and since then our trips have been on short holidays or the kids missing some school (or trips to WDW in the summer but without DH) but you just now made me realize- this cruise is starting in the summer for us. DH isn't crazy about Disney anyway (hence the reason we've made some trips without him) so now I'm thinking hmmm, I could potentially drive down earlier with the kids, without DH losing even more days off work and then he could fly to meet us shortly before the cruise (like the day before- I wouldn't cut it too close). That's definitely something to think about!

I'd have to find out some info about where to leave our vehicles during the cruise though. I don't imagine if you stay at a Disney resort and go on a Disney cruise that you could leave your vehicle there?
And on the way back- oh nevermind... no can do. My vehicle would be in CA but I couldn't take the time to drive back! The kids have school then! Well it was a thought... I guess maybe rental vehicle to leave in CA and fly back? I dunno.

The logistics of my feat do need a lot of ironing out.:) I have to do some research on getting a vehicle to do this since taking my own car would be futile.

I LOVE those costumes!!!
me too!
Someone else linked to them earlier in the thread and I bookmarked it because if I can slim down this bod, I might end up dressing up "wench" after all! I can't sew worth a darn (okay only holes, seams and buttons. LOL) so I'd have to buy something.

Looks good to me but I'm not one to really say... :confused3

I'm pretty sure I'm within guidelines but then again - I did it (with a little help from oldest DD) so who knows - I'm sure someone will let me know if I'm over. Thanks - trying to distract from the down mood - :thumbsup2

Last year I went on a jet boat trip on the Dart River while I was in Queenstown. We got off the jet boat to catch the 4WD bus back to town and our guide pointed and said - that mountain is one of the ones from the film (I forget which now) and the trees were used as the the exterior of Fangorn forest and we were surrounded by movie stars - every horse you could see in the paddocks were used in the movie ...

For a while there you couldn't move for LOR tours etc

There was a joke that they were going to interview the only person in the country that didn't know someone in the movie...

I wish the kids didn't have to be back quickly so they wouldn't miss more school. Because I so liked the idea of driving there for extra time and DH flying out shortly before the cruise- but logistically it won't work for us unless we rented a vehicle to drive there, left the vehicle there and all flew back. It might end up being cheaper for us (me and kids) to fly out sooner (round trip tickets versus one way for us) and DH fly out later. It's something to think about- but we have to also think about the cost of extra nights in a room, extra days at the parks, etc. We have lots of leftover days for WDW parks but nada for DL obviously. LOL

Me too, maybe we can slim down together with this goal in mind??? I love those dresses. Never really saw anything before that made me want to dress up, they were all cheaper Halloween costume stuff, but these are really nice.
And those are 3 things more than I can sew! LOL

The Websters definition of wench is quite interesting...........

1. A young woman or girl, especially a peasant girl.
2. A woman servant.
3. A wanton woman.

Glad I'm a Swabbie.............:goodvibes

I do think you're withing the guidelines. And it looks good to me! :)
(yeah for oldest DD helping :) )

How about renting a car? This would have no parking or wear and tear on your car... but would incurr a likely drop charge.

Coming back from Florida to TX is another issue... probably all fly one way. Unless driving again on a one way is a consideration.

Check the mapquest driving ranges and times involved to see if you really want to do this.

It is possible to get good deals on one ways. I know of a MOTOR HOME MANUFACTURER who will give you ONE WAY rentals for $48 or less a day from AZ to LA! You get the RV for something like 3 days and 700 free miles... enough for modest diversions... so you could see Vegas or the GRand Canyon on your way out here. I thought it once as a one way flight to AZ to dog leg to the GRAND Canyon.... then wander back to LA.

Never got around to it though.

What do you think of that?

Here is a link...

You can get a special for up to 6 days rental and 1500 miles.

Thanks CC. I just don't know if I could drive an RV.;) But I bookmarked it for future reference!

OMG! :scared1: I just realized that the CM walking behind me at 1 am wasn't going back to his room after coming off duty - he was 'shadowing' me! Of course - it didn't help that I was lugging bags and hidden pouches!

I caught him behind me several times and slowed down several times yet he never caught up to me - :scratchin aha - now I know! :headache:

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:
I too was up late one night, stuffing stockings. I didn't have anyone following me, but I ran into some guys cleaning the rugs near the movie theatre. What a job that is! They work late at night and get to do whatever they want all day! They were an outside contractor and got to stay in a regular cabin.

Darn, only the 2nd time I've been up this late....just getting in the swing...and the boards going down on me
