Many of my 'preferred' hotels are actually a shorter walk to the main gates than either the Disneyland Hotel or Paradise Pier. Some allow 5 in a regular room but most have really reasonable rates for suites.

My personal list (these are the only hotels I consider staying at)

Carousell Inn
Best Western Park Place Inn
Dessert Inn and Suites
Tropicana Inn
Camelot Inn
Howard Johnsons (this is the farthest but still not any farther than the DLH)

Best Western is the closest walk offsite....I think the Candy Cane Inn is pretty good too
I am planning to go to DL in about 2 weeks...we are planning to take a shuttle from the airport fo the hotel.

Hi! I'm still here, or rather back - but heading off soon. Just finished the last 20 pages. 20 pages of blah blah blah mini blah blah blah mini. Then the Capt't declared an end to mini's . And we had some real conversaton about pre-stay hotels.

I responded to you about uniforms back about page 1150? And someone else jumped in with a Coastie. I'm afraid I don't remember who - I'm too tired.

We stayed at the DL HoJo's. It was nice. Much better than I thought a HoJos would be.

I volunteered to call around to work on a group rate for the pre-cruise pirate convention. I'll try to get that done sometime this week and report back.

CA folks - I have a few places to call from Passporter, etc, but if you have a suggestion, please PM me.

Cool, maybe you can give us some info on what the shuttles cost! Atleast from airport to hotel.. that part of the 3 parter transportation we'll need.

A List would be nice to see who would like to do what Characters , It also helps me remember whos doing who as well so when I get new and Updated Photos and detail information I can share it with that person as opposed to Posting on the Board I can go directly to them ...Also a List would be good for Newbies who would like to get into the detailed part of it and play a certain Character ....If we have more then one person wanting to do a certain character so be it ....This is supposed to be fun ...Its a cruise of a lifetime ...

I skimmed your script hours ago, but please make a few parts in there for us dissers not exactly into the playing of a specific character. It sounds like it will be a fun time. It would be more fun for us than

I really hope this doesn't come across the wrong way but I feel like I responded to posts here and then all the sudden I'm told that's not what was said or what was meant. So I feel I need to remind you what was said- which is why I asked if we can't duplicate. Let's see... first Lisa


Notice about someone else is talking about the same costume and might want to check so you aren't duplicating them.
Then you responded:

When I respond asking why can't we duplicate.. then I get responses like I made that up out of thin air and ofcourse we can duplicate/etc.


surely you can see now that my question about it being okay to duplicate costumes/pirate garb did not come out of the clear blue. I was responding to what was posted.

Okay , I did say I didnt want to Duplicate(but this wasnt a RULE) , and to be honest I didnt think there would be that many People Interested in doing the POTC Costume thing . I am overwhelmed at the interest that people have had as I would have never thought so many would have wanted to do it. In alot of ways there shouldnt be any duplication cause there are so many different Characters , and even the Same Character may Have different Looks ...For Instance ..Will Turner between 2 movies so far has 4 different Costumes add the third movie into that and it goes up to 5 ....Elizabeth Swan through 3 movies will have a total of 9 different costumes . Some Characters obviously dont have any costume chages , Like Barboosa and Tia Dalma or Ana Maria , Mr.Cotton , Mr Gibbs etc etc ...Bottom line is I was trying to get some things organized as far as this was concerned ....95% of the people on this thread are not interested in dressing as a Character from POTC but are wanting to dress up as Pirates or Wenches to be part of the fun and spirit. And for this reason and that reason alone I didnt think there would be a controversy on duplicate Costumes and wether or not someone would be in Trouble ....

So with that said I think I be taking a break from the board for awhile ...

My family will be wondering the country homeless!

We're moving from north of Anchorage, Alaska to somehwere near Washington, DC - the trip will take a while and my Internet (DIS) time will be spotty at best. 12 hours a day in the car will do that to a pirate!
