The Websters definition of wench is quite interesting...........

1. A young woman or girl, especially a peasant girl.
2. A woman servant.
3. A wanton woman.

Glad I'm a Swabbie.............:goodvibes

I like wantons....in my soup.

We do go often .... even when we lived in Oklahoma. We've had AP's for over 10 years now.

Still we are going to find a way to cruise at least once a year or so.

Way to go Brack !!!! Now if you could just help me figure out how to pay for both !!!!!! Mickey likes our money..........

eh, I'm neither young nor servant. I wonder what Elizabeth's pirate definition would be? Surely she not be a wench?

DH is his own uniform police! And it really is almost identical to what the crew wears on formal night. DH cringes at the female crew members who have their hair down in uniform. You see, DH went from Catholic school to military college to active duty. He's been in uniform since he was 5.

What branch are you?

I'm all for the uniform, but this one really does look like the crew. Here's a random google picture (not DH):

Yeah. I thought he might be his own uniform police when you mentioned he attended an academy. Annapolis? Or another? Are you still AD? Mine left AD for the Reserves. In fact he's at his Reserve duty this weekend.

We're AF. The mess dress is similar to the above, but a very dark blue (looks black until it's next to black). With shoulder boards, and all the miniature medals on the left breast. I could probably scan a picture if you're curious.

Anyway, keep after him. You might mention there won't be any uniform police on board and just let him stew on it for a while. (18 months to be exact) It's not like my husband's going to know - they don't keep up with the rights and wrongs of each other's formal dress. He knows enough to itentify the service and if the rank if higher or lower than his own.

Have you seen the Army formal uniform??!! Wow - all that braid. There was a senior officer (higher) in uniform on our last cruise. And some poor nervous Marine - a private I think. All we needed was Navy to make the gathering complete. Of course - it was August - so we might have mistaken him for crew.... ;) :lmao:

Our first cruise (10-day in Alaska) he bumped into a USAFA cadet who found out he was a grad and insisted on call him "Sir". He was walking on eggshells around DH any time he saw him. It was kinda cute. DH very carefully avoided him so that he'd relax a bit.

Anyway - keep working on it...

Hey brack... forget my previous question, this statement sort of answers my ulterior question. I work for the SA at the DHQ in the Northern New England Division. Small world, huh?

Cheers!

Jennifer

Cool! I'm the FS for the Maryland West Virginia Division. My DW is in the Women's Dept doing League of Mercy/Community Care.

Very small world.

We had the opportunity to ride Mission Space before it opened. I was so excited. But then I was SOOOO sick for days afterwards. I usually sit this one out now, but my MIL who is in her 70's is always game to go on Mission Space with her grandkids. FIL and I just waiting with in the game room while they ride. DH talked me into going on it again at xmas because they have the calmer line now. Still got me. :faint:
Motion rides--YUCK! But give me a roller coaster and I am good to go.

Todd,

I have the perfect ES AWE for ya. 5"7', blond, brown eyes, age 17 cruise time. I'll do the costume. Embroidery is my thing. Yes Bip I embroider and play rugby.

Also, my DBinL is willing to play a pirate in AWE, do you have a role for him.

Comments?

I'm the Admin Asst. for the Development Department. Other than working there, I'm not very involved in the SA. However, my brother is the DYS for NNE and runs Camp Sebago. My grandparents are retired ARC officers. My father is the organist and retired YPSM for Portland, ME Corps.

Cheers!

Jennifer

Now I know why you asked the question about the sweater.
