Someone posted on the main cruise forum they felt EUROPE and Med cruises were unsafe????????? I have been to Cartegena it is safe.

Comments like these always crack me up, I've been to the US a number of times and I always get comments from people here saying, "aren't you worried about your safety?". So much we see on TV is people being attacked, raped and murder in the US dramas so that's what people think its like.

However they don't bat an eyelid if I go to a developing country as they aren't so known about.

People are funny creatures - they think their home is the safest place to be but stats show you are more likely to be attacked, raped or murdered by someone you know rather than a complete stranger so for everyone's safety we should regularly go somewhere where we don't know anyone - oh and leave your loved ones at home too :rotfl2:

Ya'll have been busy while I've spent 3 hours at baseball tryouts (and that was for only ONE child!!!). DS10 did awesome. Lots of great friends coaching this year. Baseball season = sunshine and warmth . . ..;)

Okay - have to go get ready for church and then dinner out tonight. Yes, Pete is allowing us to eat out - it's a reward for Joe for a good report card. Then we're hitting B&N so I can get some info on Arubua. Anyway, I'll be back around 8ish or so - try not to hit the next pirate without me!

We're going out tonight too....

Come 7PM we have an "organized date nite" with our kids with a baby sittter. It's a Valentines' day thing...

:confused3

Too true . . besides, isn't New Zealand one of the safest places in the world?? I know my SIL loves visiting. She actually has a family in the Cook Island that they've made friends with. Everytime they visit now they go and stay with them. It's so cool!

I'm looking forward to taking the DSs on a backpacking trip through Europe when they are a bit older (or maybe we'll just do the Med cruise in 2009 . . .LOL). Safety is all about not being stupid, too.

Us, too! Actually that is one of my goals for the new year . . at least one date a month with just DH! I miss just hanging out with him. Don't get me wrong. We both love being parents, but the kids do grow up and hopefully move out. We want to still know each other when it just the two of us again . .. it's closer than we think!!

DD is going out with DH for a father/daughter Valentines dance. DS & I were suppose to go out, but since he's running a fever of 102, I told him we'd rent a movie or play board games.

Our date night tonight is to just stay home and watch movies. With two teenagers and two jobs.......... we need to just stay still !!!!

I can't do those spinning rides anymore either. When I was younger I was fine....but every since I've had kids.....NO WAY.
Yea! It's the having kids part that ruined it for me, too. Just don't have the same sense of balance. Now how being pregnant and giving birth had anything to do with it, I have no idea. .. and my feet grew a 1/2 size, too!

All in all the kids were worth it . . .:lmao::lmao::lmao:

Before we head out to dinner to celebrate my special day :) I just wanted to update you all on the number count for the group.

DIS COUNT: 386 ~~ 227 Adults 159 Kids

195 Captain's dining
117 Late dining
74 WLE dining

I have entered 92 family's information in the data base with another batch in my folder waiting to be added.

Ok, most of you probably have no idea how much I dispise flying. Long story that we have months to explore... I am planning on taking the girls on a cross country trip of sorts. Maybe take two weeks to get to CA, then spend a few days at DL before the Trip of a Lifetime.

What I need from all of you are some "pit" stops if you will. I can do a bunch of mini meets on my way out! I'll be starting in NJ and will most likely take the northern route since it will be summer. So who will help me make my map?? :cheer2:

DH would be following behind by plane....

There are some great stops along the way. You MUST take them to the Grand Canyon. Annette and I drove to LA from Oklahoma City last year (she went to a conference and I went to Disneyland). We stopped off at the GC and it is more magnificent than you can imagine. :car:

Okay, POC question . . who OWNS the Pearl? I'm glad we have a captain, first mate, etc., but my preference would be to dress as the owner of the ship. That would mean I could stay in the owner's cabin, too. . . I realize the Pearl changed hands a few times from POC through POC2, but who really owned it before it was pirated??pirate:

So...

It looks like its' just the girl that has the Oriental costume? Is that so?

and for your entertainment pleasure here is a copy of my most recently completed traffic school question:

You can reduce the hazards of multitasking while driving by:
A: Putting on your makeup while waiting for the light to turn green, rather than while moving.
B: Asking other drivers or pedestrians for directions so you don't have to look at the map while driving.
C: Trying to take an extra 15 minutes to apply makeup, make phone calls, and consult maps before leaving home.
D: By using a computer while driving.
E: By talking on the cell phone while driving.

Happy Birthday Lisa!

from Brack, Annette, JoJo and Bobby!
