When we took my mom with us to WDW, Pete and Joe took her on the teacup ride - I think she thought they were just going to sit in the tea cup and not spin it, she should of had a clue that wasn't going to be the case when I didn't get on it. Pete and Joe had way different ideas - between the two of them, that tea cup was spinning so fast it was a blur. When she got off the ride she was green!

I can't do those spinning rides anymore either. When I was younger I was fine....but every since I've had kids.....NO WAY.

Yes I did. Graduated in 1990 from RC. It's a HUGE campus when you combine all parts in New Brunswick and Piscataway. Academically it was great, depending on your intended major.

What didn't you like about it? What does DD like? Also, things may have changed, but 'back in the day', in order to live on the College Ave campus you had to draw from a lottery. I spent my 4 years on Bush Campus (Davidson Hall 1yr, then the apts.). I preferred it that way because I got to keep my car!

Thanks for your input. I really appreciate it. Mine concerns are basically around the crime happening there over the past few year. Specifically sexual assaults. It's only 20 minutes away from us, so I wish she'd live home is all. DD is quick to point out that that would be missing the "college" experience. There is guaranteed housing for freshman & sophmores, and no more car for resident students anywhere until you have 54 credits. DD likes the "city" feel of College Ave. to which me and DH tell her, we moved you out of the city to surburbia, so it figures you'd want to go back :lmao: Kids, they keep you on your toes. Since you graduated a little bit ago. I'll let you know the tuition for this year (don't know our costs yet) Instate: $19,000 Out of state: $27,500 :scared1: That's for a STATE school. Oy, I've got a headache.

Why is that! Me too, use to love the Tilt-A-Whirl, for me, it's now the
Tilt-A-Hurl. I noticed also, it was after I had my kids.

You mean he won't be wearing that in AWE?

No ...That is a picture of a Very good friend of mine who made that costume and photoshopped JD's Face into the picture ...Whats so funny about it is that it even made it to Star magazine .....The whole thing was a hoax ...here I will show you

Thank you for asking,

DD her ear is ok, it seems, we will know if graft is ok in three weeks, but she has had other problems, she came down with Flu, cannot eat, and cannot sleep, I had a bad cold in the hospital and with the snow on Thursday it was bound to happen.

She hasnt eaten today after being sick all night, but cross fingures over the wrost.

DW Slow progress, still very weak and DD up all night doesnt help.

We will get there soon!

THANKS

Andrew you have a really upbeat attitude that I'm sure is helping you thru this difficult time. I really hope the worst of your DD's illness is behind her.

He doesn't officially take a class, but he recently became involved with the youth drama group at our church. They are doing an outreach today and it's his first outing with them. He's so excited.

that's great!:) - a local church does something similar. Some of our neighbors and DD's classmates are active in that and do plays through them!!!!!

OMG, that's out of control!!! When I went it was $6000 in state. So glad that RU is a 'state' school and theoretically offers lower tuition. :confused3 No wonder my Dad cried tears of joy when I decided to go there. :rotfl2: I can understand your concern about the crime issues. Unfortunately it seems to be everywhere you go. :( In regards to the "college experience"...that's a tough one. I had tons of friends who were 'red hang tag' commuters who constantly crashed at our dorm / apt. and enjoyed the best of both worlds. Are frosh and sophs guaranteed housing on College Ave? If not, it may be a selling point to DD to stay at home and commute.:rolleyes1 As I can remember, Livingston or Cook campuses seemed like they were from another world entirely compared to CA!

I can see that catching up with this thread is out. (I know you told me not to, but I didn't believe you.) Seems like just keeping up with it is going to be a chore, too. A happy one, but still – wow! I’m taking notes as I read. Forgive me for not quoting the originals.

Happy Birthday to everyone who's having a birthday.

Even though I haven't a clue who any of yous are, Happy Birthday anyway!

Scrapbooking - um, no, not for me. Yes, I can create ideas and do some crafty type things, I just choose not to. My craftiness, in this context, is basically limited to preparing people I'm traveling with for a vacation. Basically separate daily itinerary brochures, photo albulm at-a-glance itineraries, planning packets, that sort of thing. All the stuff so I don't have to answer for the 100th time, what are we doing next?

As for sewing a costume, I don't think so. I have a hard time finding the elevator buttons on Beat Street let alone threading a needle. I'm probably the one who would walk out of the sewing room with my fingers sewn together and needles poking out of my fingertips.

However, 3 very generic and simple pirate costumes do reside in closet for when the need arises, such as birthday parties, MNSSHP, P&P Party, or just a lazy summer Saturday afternoon.

Spinny rides are way out for me, too. I can’t even LOOK at a carousel. When I take my niece to the local amusement park, I watch her go around the first cycle and time how long it is till she arrives again, then I have to look away, count, then look back in time to wave. If it doesn’t go in circles, I’m ok, but wow.

My brother is a minister and his kids are involved with drama, too. They are currently the leaders of an overnight summer camp on Sebago Lake and do a lot of the drama type stuff. It’s good for the younger ones, but the older nephews seem to have lost interest.

Spoke with my parents today about the cruise. After trying to explain this group to them, my father, a rather stern and imposing figure who used to scare most people when they were first introduced, and is also a member of the Coast Guard Auxiliary with his own sailboat, thinks it’s absolutely hilarious that we’re going to LA to repossess the Magic and bring her back to Florida. He can’t wait for the next Flotilla Meeting to update everyone on his future adventures.

Cheers!

Jennifer

Dont forget about these ...LOL

I just read this disclaimer by Disney: Please note, there have been several doctored photos of Johnny Depp in a blue & gold Asian costume that have surfaced on the internet over the past month. All of these images are user-generated fakes that are not in the movie and not approved by Johnny Depp.

Wow fooled me! :confused3
