Don't be goin' all Oprah on me now! :)

Thanks for the congrats! Score another for the wenches!

Now, as for formal night, what exactly is your wardrobe issue? Perhaps we can stage some kind of apparel intervention?
I don't know what going Oprah on you means. (seriously I don't)

Yep, score another one for the wenches. Way to go!

Um, long story on the wardrobe issue. Right NOW the issue is that I can't fit into hardly any of my clothes due to the weight gain issue over the past few years and my stubbornness on buying "fat" clothes. So there's that, plus I'm just not a dressy up type person. So buying formal clothes for the cruise would be ONLY for the cruise and I'm way too frugal for that. (ditto on DH's clothes) This will likely be our last cruise for a LONG time (due to our children's ages and not liking the idea of a young teen in with older teens)- so it's just cost effective for me to buy formal wear, even if I were to lose the weight by the time of the cruise.

Personally, if it weren't for lobster night... we'd rather just skip semi- and formal nights on this cruise and opt for a more relaxed evening having dinner elsewhere. Dressing up formal is not something we're used to so needless to say it's a time consuming activity for us on those nights- and we're not comfortable even after spending the time to get dressed up/etc. We're simply country folk, so to speak. :)

3B, I'm begining to be concerned that you have serious closet issues. :sad2:
I'm not EXACTLY sure what that means, but yes, most likely I do have serious closet issues. LOL

Let's put it this way- you know how a LOT of women have closets full of shoes? Well mine is like primarily tons of different tennis shoes (and flip flops). Does that tell you anything? LOL

Wenches tea party- is that only for wenches dressed up in wenches' garb? LMK....

I don't think dressing up would be a requirement, although it might be fun. Just more for us wenches to get together and enjoy each other's company and talk about the swabbies...or scabbies, behind their backs. Or if they come parading by, in front of their backsides!:rotfl:

Cool.
Well if dressing in wenches' garb isn't a requirement- then I'm in on the tea party too! Sounds great!

(ps. about my being formal-wear challenged... I'm not going to worry about it all that much right now. Because if I lose the weight again, I am likely to be exactly how I was last time and out buying new clothes to wear. Something about NOT looking like shamu makes you want to buy nicer clothes to wear, atleast for me. :confused3 I do still have quite a bit of nicer clothes sitting in my closet with tags on them still- that I had purchased for our cruise after I lost all the weight... then once our cruise got postponed almost a year and a half more- I had over 2yrs there to gain weight back and they no longer fit by the time I cruised. I WILL have some nicer things to wear on the cruise if I can lose the weight and fit my butt back in them again! So we'll see how things progress. I have plenty of time to lose the weight again. Only took me 6mo last time :) )

:lmao:

Oh and hey, I like you sig banner better! It looks more like a map or something around the edges!

It was a complete accident. If you go to page 1, you will see the big "Pirate Zone" banner, which looks like my sig. I downloaded it and resized it to meet the board's specs -- not realizing there was already a smaller signature one (the one with just black around it) further in the post. I apparently couldn't be bothered to read the entire first post and grabbed the first image I saw.

So credit for the map edges belongs to the Captain.

Oprah says that people can call her whatever they want, but that doesn't mean she has to answer to it.

Now, as for your wardrobe issues...I understand. Really, I do. So, here's what I have to say about that:

This is YOUR vacation...your Trip of a Lifetime. Do what you want with it. If dressing up isn't your thing, then don't do it. If you want to dress up, I bet with 300+ DISers, someone is bound to have something in their closet that might fit you (even if it doesn't fit them at the moment). You can also find great deals on dressy dresses at the clearance places like Marshall's & Ross. I know I'll be on the prowl for my own formal night apparel next year after Christmas and again after prom season. I'm bound to find something at a reasonable price. Bottom line--don't feel the need to live up (or down) to anyone else's expecations other than your own. :flower3:

Come eat the lobster. We won't judge you. Heck, I'll be the one with half a crustacean dangling from my mouth, so who am I to judge.

There is nothing wrong with flip flops and tennis shoes. :goodvibes

Me too. How will she be able to tell us apart? :confused3

:lmao: Oprah cracks me right up (but she's so right on that one!)

I hear you about our vacation. If there wasn't that darn lobster to be missing, I wouldn't even consider dressing up this cruise. We did it last time and it just wasn't that enjoyable (no offense to those that ENJOY dressing up and getting all fixed fancy- seriously! To each their own..) -my feet hurt, we were all uncomfortable, and it wasn't worth the time we had to invest- and STILL we weren't nearly as dressed up as everyone else. :confused3
