Well, IC is holding onto rooms still for something. I just called to transfer to a deck 7 10 and the CM said that they are still sold out. I told her that there would be double & tripple bookings that were to be released into inventory today & she had quite the attitude that there were no more rooms. She looked it up & said the system still showed. She can't believe that people booked more than one room Wednesday. OY!

Barb told me that amongst the TA's (who had their own waiting lists from clients) were ablt to fill pretty much every cabin that was cancelled (by changing the names) over the last two days.

All went well. I just still cant believe some people. I may be a lapsed catholic, but I try to teach my kids right. I cant believe way people dress!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If it was a regular Sunday mass i'm not so picky, but it was a sacrament celebration. Kids and parents in sweats & jeans!!!!!!!!!!

Then we had to rush all the way to the other side of the island for a baptism. My cousins baby. IT was a long day!!!!!!!

Maureen you know it's funny, at my DD's First Reconciliation some of the little girls were dressed to the nine with updos and everything. We were dressed in regular nice church clothes and we felt like slouches. I can't imagine how those in sweats must have felt yesterday. Anyway, a few years later it was DS's turn, and well, he dressed nice, but he absolutely refused to get an UPDO! :rotfl:

We're booked on this cruise, too. We just got back from the Disney Magic yesterday (got the onboard booking discount, Whoo Hoo!)

How on earth am I going to be able to catch up with over 10,000 posts already and the cruise is still 18 months away!!!

Howdy.....MD neighbor....

Can I get some ketchup for my eggs?

LISTEN EVERYONE, THIS BEAUTIFUL LOVERLY LADY HERE NEEDS SOME
KETCHUP
WOULD EVERYONE WITH SOME KETCHUP BRING IT TO HIM NOW!

Wow, I wonder if that means the cruise will continue to be sold out. I also wonder if people got cabin assignments from the waitlists while some of us still have gtys. I have a gty 6 & gty 11 and my kids are big. So I know I'm on the ship and that's enough for me. But for those people with small kids who need connecting cabins or stateroom directly across the hall, I hope that would get assigned cabins first if they booked on Wed via gty. I do hope it works out the those families who may not be able to go if the cabins are very close or connecting!

What incredible will power you must have!!! Can you sprinkle a bit of it :wizard: and blow it toward the east? :rotfl:

We'll see how it goes;). The current answer to "can we go on a Disney cruise again?" is "someday". We have registered them on the children's manifest that will come out (listed on page 1) because we also would like to give them a chance to develop some penpals prior to the cruise.

Thanks for the warm welcome! I found our cruise paperwork in the luggage. We're in rooms 7080 and 7082. At the moment, our cruise includes me (Kim), DH, DD13, DS9, DD5, and DS 1 (children's ages are ages at the time of the cruise).

DH let me make the reservation just in case we're able to afford it. Now we're just trying to figure out how to afford it. We're DVC member and have points, so that will help bring down the cost.

Any DVC members made their reservations using points yet? How does that work with the points charts not being out yet?

We're hoping my brother and his girlfriend can go with us. It's not fun paying adult fares for children. DCL isn't particularly friendly to families of 6. :sad2:

Kim
Hi Kim. Welcome aboard. Looks like we'll both have 1 year-olds with us on the cruise. We're booked using DVC points. But as DH keeps pointing out, we still don't know how many points it's gonna cost us. :confused3 Still, we're going and happy no matter what. The way we look at it, we've already spent the $$ for the DVC points so might as well use them however we can/want.

i know gty means you are guaranteed a cabin that cat or a cat higher. but they overbook knowing there will be cancellations. maybe they didnt have enough cancellations or something. has anyone ever heard of this happening?

YIKES! I hope not! I didn't even consider that. Does anyone know?

I read at Christmas DCL got it wrong and too many people were on the cruise at payment day so they offered a lot to some to bump off, one person said they switched weeks around so instead of DCL>WDW they did WDW>DCL next one so it does happen. They seemed pleased with the offer???

OK - I'm way back on page 694, but I thought I'd jump in this morning before I have to run to church.

pirate: :snooty: ...well for what it's worth, i here to take what i can!
[though i have sneaked that statment in a few time, i have never
received the proper ..salute? pirate: style..man! never knew i was
so sneaky and canty]

above all else, i believe the most important exchanges going on...make no mistake...my family
is where all my feelings for spending my hard earned $ on disney/cruises!
so that makes who on the ship..very important too..it awful to hear
any type of fighting on either ship..what a waste of time? however, mess
with my family & one will see why ...lil' grumpy applies. ( sorry, being
a gentlman takes a back seat to being a parent--i was raised that a
parent is a teacher and a protector ).

:flower3: to sk8 gal...so sorry with your puppy loss and your recent
diffculties...your caring...reflected how much he was loved! :dog:
i sure it was a great comfort for him! p.s.. it's people like your self, that
i think is going to make this an adventure for the ages..i hope this
lil story comfort the pain...we lost the golden retriever that grew up
with our 2 college sons...a year ago. he was called pj, the initials of
both our boys..he just got too old {17 y/o}..on the day he passed,
he got up and left his bed..and went all the way to the end of our
driveway {took 3 hours}. there he took his guard position...to let
us know how much he lcared for us....i cried...and bury him in his
favorite blanket and all his toys..what a dog! and family member!
to me life without caring, sharing and love isn't living at all!....
or my wife >.

First and foremost: GIVE NOTHING BACK!

Thank you for your kind words. I hadn't thought about it, but that is probably exactly what Cuya was doing. She hasn't left our back deck in months, but yesterday she climbed off the back deck, walked around the house (through a good 2.5-3 feet of snow & climbed up onto the front porch and just layed in front of our front door. I'm sure now that she was guarding us. And yes, Ohioans - my dog's name was Cuyahoga. (k-eye-ya-hog-a for those non-Ohioans, we called her k-eye-ya)

ITA with what (I think!) you are saying about whatever it was that happened that most of us don't know (or dare I say care) about.

We do the same thing :thumbsup2
All year long I set aside the boys socks with small holes,

Undies & socks always go in the trash on vacation. Although I can't imagine I'll have 15 pairs for each boy by then.

We also take old camp shirts & toss those too:

Socks on vacation??? Blasphemy!

Why not have someone design a Lanyard!

That way we can identify each other, not that I need another lanyard!:lmao: :lmao:

Just my $.02, I like the bracelet idea better. I don't do lanyards.

maybe the only thing that might fit after 15 nights on the magic is our birthday suit

And thats the thing that has expanded.

Remember guys not 3 days not 4 days not even 7 days not 14 days but..

15 days

Of food, is not a sprint its a marathon this time pace yourselves.

Andrew so do you think it was voluntary then? In other words, they offered people something for changing to another cruise instead of being forced out. I guess kinda like on a flight? I am going to have to wrestle my boss to the ground for this time off as it is. If I did that and then got bump, well, I would be sad (and mad)

it was that short 4 day Magic that got overbooked at xmas....

many people were offered cabins on a 7 day Magic in January...

From what I was reading on these boards it worked like airlines overbooking their flights, they contacted some people presume on CATs that were overbooked and asked if they minded being bumped off the cruise and they would get another cruise and also compensation, not sure how much but they were happy with it, maybe an upgrade etc

I presume they ask for people to say 'yes' first, and prefer not to just bump you off.

I would add whilst the 2005 Repo showed full for a long time, availabilty did come near the 90 day payment date when people hopfull to go couldnt pay up, or had other commitments. I am sure people booked last week on the 31st to have the option of going knowing it will sell out, but also knowing they might not go. Basically reserving their place.
