Hi, we are new to this thread, and all I can say is WOW. We just booked this cruise on Friday (thanks to someone who opted out, we were able to get a Cat 6). We were originally sailing on the Med cruise on 7/28, but had to cancel due to personal reasons. So we are DEFINITELY in for this one. :yay:

A little about us, my name is Debi and my DH is Dominick (a/k/a) Micco. We are both 47 and live in Staten Island, New York with our 2 DDs (Alex and Briana), currently age 19 and 16. Alex will be 21 by the time we sail, and Briana 18 (graduating from HS in June).

I am going to try to start catching up this thread (not sure which way is the best to go backwards, maybe...) and will email all of our info this week. I can't believe there are over 700 pages already.

We look forward to getting to knowing you, and we are really excited about this trip. We did the Mexican Riviera 2 years ago, and met a really great group of people whom we have stayed friends with.

Debi

DD Patricia who wil be 9 at the time of the cruise. Anyone with kids out there looking for a pen pal, just let us know!!!

:welcome: Our older DD will be 9 also, and we have another that will be 7. Many others have registered per post 1 on Page 1 of the thread. We'll probably hold off on telling our girls for now, it's soooo far away.:hourglass

Thanks for the warm welcome! I found our cruise paperwork in the luggage. We're in rooms 7080 and 7082. At the moment, our cruise includes me (Kim), DH, DD13, DS9, DD5, and DS 1 (children's ages are ages at the time of the cruise).

DH let me make the reservation just in case we're able to afford it. Now we're just trying to figure out how to afford it. We're DVC member and have points, so that will help bring down the cost.

Any DVC members made their reservations using points yet? How does that work with the points charts not being out yet?

We're hoping my brother and his girlfriend can go with us. It's not fun paying adult fares for children. DCL isn't particularly friendly to families of 6. :sad2:

Kim

i wish the points were out ahead of time. dvc messed up on this one, hopefully in the future they will not let this happen. i know they dont have to offer dcl but it will be nice if they could of had the points out.

What incredible will power you must have!!! Can you sprinkle a bit of it :wizard: and blow it toward the east? :rotfl:

OK, I can't believe I just did this, but I had to share this with a "few" of my closet friends, LOL!!!

I just got a quote for the 5 day sailing of the Magic on 9-1-08 for just Hazel and I in a cat. 11, if I can swing it, and pull it off, I'm going to use this as a surprise 33rd Wedding Anniversary gift to her.

Congrats! I think that is wonderful and so romantic! I wish my DH would have thought of that. (Hint, hint!) ;)

Good morning all! It's bitter cold here. We finally broke 10* with a wind chill of -17*! We went out for the papers and breakfast and we aren't going out again!

I see I've got alot to catch up on here, thank goodness for the summaries!

Well off to do wash.:laundy:

:welcome: :welcome:

Another fellow islander !!!!

We have a couple former islanders arount the forums too!!!!

We normally have our return by now also but we couldn't file online until today because of a couple of late IRS changes. And our is also going straight into the "Trip of a Lifetime" bank account!:lmao:

Same here... Although after getting back $6,000 last year i upped my number of exemptions at both state and federeal on my paycheck so we would keep more of it during the year.

Good Morning Pirates!

Couldn't post yesterday because I had to have my toilet(turlet) replaced to the tune of $500 smackaroos! and then I was off to my office Christmas Party. I know, I know a Holiday Party on 2/3, don't even ask!

Anyway, I am completely caught up and darn proud of myself too!

Welcome to all the new cruisers!!!!

Congrats on 2000 Captain!

Score another for the wenches for snagging 10,000. The fact that she is sailing on the WB Repo is completely irrevelant but totally hysterical :lmao:

Andy you are a true romantic! Congrats on the anniversary too. What a great surprise for Hazel.

Andrew thanks for all the great info you've been providing for the Repo. How is DD and DW feeling?

Lisa got the email and again thanks for the enormous effort!

SK8 so very sorry about your pup. It's devastating to loss a pet.

Lil Grumpy you brought a tear to my eye as well. What a good dog!

Oriental trading has some great stuff for pirate parties! pirate:

My dd's 14th b-day is the memorial day weekend (just in time for POTC3)

I thinks thar be another pirate party to plan....

Maybe dress up, go to dinner and then to the movies...

Anyone else is invited if your in the area but you must come "dressed" for the occasion.

Hi Ginny, RobinMarie & DeniseW it's great too "see" you guys and It will be a blast to sail with you all again!

Maureen how was the First Reconciliation?

We do the opposite....I still claim single 0 after all these years. The extra bit each week would just be GONE. I look at it as FORCED savings (except without interest)

Our refund will be going to pay off the credit card bills we racked up over the summer. (had a new deck put in, new shed, new grill, new lawn mower, new fridge, new patio set for upper part of deck) and to pay for DS Communion party.

Once thats all taken care of that will free me up to start setting aside money for the cruise.

ANyone know what the tip rate is??? I'm guessing double the 7 day. I liked the idea that someone had about keeping envelopes at home and throwing a few dollars in them every now and then.

you said dont ask you about your christmas party on feb 3 but i have to ask you why did you have a office christmas party on feb 3?

you think we can hit 100,000 post before we sail?

I think the goal should be 300,000. You figure we're in for 10,000 already, and it seems like about every 2 days we hit another 1,000 (not sure if we had a 1,000 day yet. Maybe on 1/31 when the bookings opened). There are 18 months until we sail, and if you figure 30 days per month on average (would be slightly more), that would give us 270,000 more between now and then. Add the 10,000 and we're set for 280,000.

I think we will put up more per day as it gets closer.

So, what is the prize for the person that gets 100K, 200K and 300K if we get that high?

The price came in a just a tad over $1200, I first got a quote for a cat. 9, but since it would just be the two of us, the $$ saved from a cat. 9 to a cat. 11, would help cover our tips for the 5 nights.

Can you imagine 20 nights on the Magic in a row and three stops at Castaway Cay within days of itself!!! Talk about your back to back cruises, I think my retirement date of June 1, 2010 might be extended, LOL!!! :rotfl2:

:wizard: Wish me luck, I think I'm going to need it!!!!!:wizard:

Andy, maybe you have come with a new concept here. "TIME SHARE on the Magic". Yes you can buy a piece of the magic in 20 day blocks. :cool1:
