Well, since I have off today, I think I will start getting all my paperwork in order so I can get started on our taxes..............it's that time of year again people.........

Morning all!
It is cold (for us) and cloudy. I just could not wake up this morning. Makes me very glad I could just roll out of bed, log on and start working. I love working from home!
I know we alll will experience some kind of trial and tribulation before the cruise and, I agree that it is so nice having a great bunch of people to share it with.
Our challenge is my MiL and her attempt to control my DH on some inheritance money. He wants her come on the cruise with us if a room comes up (I am thinking since I am the one checking-one will never come up ;) ).
Anyway- Hope everyone has a great week and all bad things turn good.

Morning Everyone - after reading the last few pages, I hope this week turns out to be much better for everyone. pixiedust: Sending all those that need it tonnes of pixie dust.

We had a quiet week-end here, except for the rather yummy curry Saturday night & Xmas dinner (yes, you read right) at MIL yesterday. She felt bad she did not cook for us over the festive period, hence yesterday complete with crackers & Xmas pud.

Smurfs are real collectors items in the UK & I remember seeing one person on breakfast telly whose house was literally a smurf shrine!

Celestine

Glad you enjoyed your Christmas dinner.:goodvibes Sometimes they are nicer and less hectic after the holidays are over.

I was going to go into work today to get some overtime, but I think I will just stay put inside the nice warm house, thank you very much!!! :lmao:

BTW, Good Morning Everyone.......

Enjoy your day off Andy and stay warm. It is 18 degrees here.

I found out Sat. The Party is on, the party is on March 30. no matter weather I cruise or not !!! Chuck is feeling betrayed. These are the bad times and some tough choices to me made.

Yes I am still working for company , getting ready for work now............pamela get motivated $$$$$$$$:goodvibes

Tina, I don't know why life has to throw us all these curveballs. Enough already.:sad2:

Good morning everyone - no school since its Martin Luther King Day - I get the day off! Nice to have a day off after getting robbed of that snow day last week. Just got back from my run - only 2 miles this morning, its only 9 degrees out there and my dog was freezing! Had to get out though, I am training for the Monument Avenue 10K and I am determined I will run the entire way this year! I did the 8K in Novemner so i know I am up for teh challenge. Maybe a DW marathon is in my future:cool2:

I have scanned over some posts, I just can't keep up all the time. Its so wonderful you people on this board. I want to send out :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: to anyone who needs them. Life gets crazy sometimes good and bad. Its nice to know that you are all here to be a sounding board and the encouragement offered here is second to none! You are a wonderful group of people and I can't wait to meet you all in August.

Speaking of August.... I transferred my cruise ressie to Dreams Unlimited and got a very nice stateroom credit which was AWESOME! Now we are trying to see if we would be better off letting Dreams handle our ressie with Hojos and getting our tickets for Disneyland. I have sent off an email....I expect I will hear from them today, they are so prompt.

Everyone have a wonderful day, try to stay warm! :dance3: Sue

Sue, running 2 miles in 9 degrees!:worship: :worship:

I agree with you there are some wonderful people here. I can't wait to meet everyone either. :goodvibes

DU is great!!

Coral, I'm also working at home today:woohoo:
Some of the same issues with my MiL too:rolleyes:
Except my DH has now decided that he doesn't want his Mom on this trip and he won't tell her:headache: "Luckily" haven't been able to get a room for her yet anyway:rolleyes1

Build it and they WILL come!

Some people build swimming pools in their back yards. But outdoor pools in Alaska just won't cut it.

Since this particular family lives on the outskirts of Anchorage, they decided to build a sturdy, colorful playground for their 3 and 4 year old sons, with smooth-stone gravel all around it to avoid knee scrapes and other injuries.

They finished building it on Saturday evening, and the following morning, as the Mom was about to wake up the boys and have them go out to play in their new play center, this is what she saw from the upstairs window:

(It gives a whole new meaning to "build it and they will come")

Good morning! It is up to 11 degrees here. DS8 is off school and is here at the office with me. DH decided to work from home today. My crazy parents are going to take DS to Chuck E Cheese a little later, so I should get some peace and quiet then.

I guess we are really lucky with MILs in our family! DH's mom is lots of fun and we have traveled with her several times - we would love to have her on the TOAL, but her DH (my DH's step-dad) has a serious heart condition so they do not want to travel out of the country. Dh gets along well with my DM - good thing since we live so close and I work with my parents! My parents cruised with us a couple years ago and we all had a great time.

Makes you wonder if the kids will ever get to play on it--looks like the bears have claimed it.:)

Same here Pamela.:goodvibes I guess we are lucky.

OK, 15 minutes 'til kickoff, so I'll make my call.

I want the Chargers to win. We became fans while living in San Diego. (SoCal Sing-a-long: San Di-ego super Chargers, San Di-ego Chargers). Unfortunately, I think they will get beat by the worst coach in Browns history, ummm, err, I mean Bill Belichick & the Patriots.

I want the Packers to win. During the few years of no Browns, I was a Packers fan. Gotta love Brett Favre, although I hate hearing about how old he is since he's only 3 years older than me.

I don't think I'll get my way today, but if I do, I may need to attach a lightning bolt to a cheesehead for the Super Bowl.

Happy Conference Championship Day everyone!

Ummmm..... I need to place a bet, who are you picking in the Super Bowl? I think the other way is a sure thing.....:lmao:

I started, then stopped already, didn't really feel like doing it today afterall................:lmao:

I am usually very organized when it comes to taxes. My business ones are all done, but I haven't begun to sort through the personal stuff yet. At least it is all together in a rubberband. But now we have some goofy account that doesn't send out our 1099 until March sometime so it really doesn't matter to much. But we don't get refunds so it really isn't a big deal to wait.
