I have a request to stay in the same cabin too. I have my room # for the 5 nighter and GTY for the TOAL too. I did tell Sue Ellen that I would be willing to have my 5 nighter switched if needed to keep the same room. I am keeping my fingers crossed that I don't have to move.:)

Believe it or not, I have my cabin number for the TOAL but not for the 5 nighter! I did tell my TA to inform DCL that we really hoped to be in the same cabin for both, even if it meant changing the TOAL cabin number. Fingers crossed!

Hi Everyone! Just got home - boy Wednesday's have become tough! I do get to leave work early, but I just go pick up DS8 and drive him to fiddle lesson (4:45). Then I wait for that and then drive him to his Karate class (6:00) then we drive home. He does some of his homework in the car and then we finish it when we get home as we eat a late dinner. (Tonight, DH is at one of his Environmental Commission meetings, so it is just DS and I) Right now, I am letting him stay up 15 minutes late (we usually go upstairs to get him to bed at 8:00) so he can just relax for a few minutes and play a game on the DS!

Although it sounds like a crazy schedule - we are finding this works better than trying to do Karate on Thursday. That would just be one more evening spent at an activity - this way we have both Thurs and Friday evenings free of commitments.

I hope all of you had a nice relaxing day! :thumbsup2

I am still willing to make the CDs (or DVDs). I do have 2 computers that will burn DVDs/CDs so it is doable. I really wouldn't want to go larger than 1-2 DVDs. I can organize by day and/or subject. I just am not sure how to determine which photos to copy. I was thinking only items that are of general interest to the whole group - ports, characters, the ship, DIS events, etc. Anyone want to be on a selection committee? :lmao: :lmao:

Crash, if your site is easy to download from I am willing (with your help) to download from there and copy. I am not worried so much about the cost of the DVDs, it is mostly the mailing. If folks are willing to send me their address and give me say $1-2 I will purchase the DVDs and padded envelopes and mail the DVDs out.

Any additional ideas and suggestions will be most welcome. :worship: This is a TOAL so I don't want to miss pictures of anything. And my battery seems to go dead or I forget it at the most inopportune times. Plus the fact that I am not the greatest photographer.

Here is more details of how we shared pics - each person sent their photos to one place. Each of us included in the package a return envelope with postage plus a few extra stamps plus we sent our own DVDs to be burned. I think first we sent our cds with pics and then we were told how many DVDs to send.

I still have it booked, but at this point I don't think it will happen.

We had a set back with Trevoy. He was acting up so much yesterday that they asked that he not have any visitors. He was very violent and threatening towards the staff and toward me when I tried to call him. I did visit this morning and he is doing better. But the staff wants to continue to limit visits to only me and only for 30 minutes at a time. There are 3 different 1 hour sessions that the kids can have visitors and Trevoy is used to having someone there each time. So this is really hard on him.

Monica,

... I am deeply concerned with the news of your continuing complications. However, I wanted to share a supportive gesture bolstered with prayers for the best.

I must confess how I can relate. Although I have not had the same precise circumstances - I am guessing that I speak for many when I say I've had some intensely difficlut times in my past. I DO know what it feels like to be seemingly isolated in dealing with huge, threatening health issues in a loved one. My mother had multiple myeloma (a rare form of cancer) and by defalut I was the primary care giver. I quit going to college to run the family business to ensure the economic continuity for my parents while simultaneously I acted as the decision maker / care giver for Mom. Those days had indescribable days of challenge. Alas, looking back on it - I would like to think that it's made me a better and stronger person. If nothing less... it's left me with proud memories of fighting the good fight.

FOr what-ever it's worth.... maybe nothing or maybe something... I do understand a measure of what you're wrestling with and I stand here in support of you in these times. And we know you are not alone here - as you are surrounded by caring and thoughtful swabbies, wenches and scoundrels. Ok... maybe that last remark did not come across as "cleanly" as some might like... at least it's got a sliver of homor, eh?

OK... I've gotta run shortly... we have a dinner about 40 minutes away - so I gotta run with the kids in a few minutes.

Respectfully,

Tom, AKA "Innocent" Captain Crash

That's funny. I think I only had about 20 posts before this thread. Weren't you the one who started all the hype through your online detective work?

I was scared of all you people. After all I only had something like 100 posts prior to joining here.

woman_screaming.gif

I luked for a few days before I was brave enough to post.:lmao: :lmao: The thread was scary even way back when.:rotfl: :rotfl:

Scary is not exactly how I would describe it - as back then it was positively psychotic. I could NOT keep up.

I have to wait until 8pm local time for my 1 year anniversary. Didn't post until page 2, what did I get myself into. :confused3

Well, Roger...

... Your first posting was on page 2 #18.... while I joined the thread on page 32 with posting 472 - which was the 5th day after the thread started.

I must also share that I too was intimidated with the amount of activity the thread had BEFORE my first posting. How many remember those days when NONE of us had any hope of keepig up with the thread?

... On my prior DIS sailing (the 11 nite Southern) I joined it approximately 90 days prior to embarkation and managed to post approximately 1000 postings prior to sailing.

At any rate ... I gotta get going in a couple minutes.... below was my very first posting here! Charming, eh?

Yeah - count us in for FOUR deck chairs... we'll bring our own blankets if it'll save us a few dubloons!

We'll continue to keep both you and Trevoy in our thoughts and prayers. :grouphug:

Hi guys! Just popping in to say I completed my first full marathon at WDW this past weekend.

:thumbsup2 congrats

If anyone gets out of line, you can make them walk the plank...or at least take a dive from the rope swing!

Thought the rope swing "was" the only way off the ship? :confused3

Jeez, Tom, don't belittle the Captain's microphone . . .:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Yeah cause he's already suffering from the belittled sword due to TSA policies. (but it is well protected:lmao: )

Hey my family and I are going on this cruise. I have a 15 year old and was wondering if we know of any teens going.

Mmmm... If my now 14 yo dd lives long enough...we might have to bring her...(she'll be 15 in May) see below...

We had a set back with Trevoy. He was acting up so much yesterday that they asked that he not have any visitors. He was very violent and threatening towards the staff and toward me when I tried to call him.

 sorry to hear that Monica.. Things are tough here too.. I think dd may have failed one of her classes and we took her cell phone away tonight because of her behavior recently and she flipped out at my DH while i was at a meeting tonight. I am so close to just dialing 911. Luckily we finally found a therapist to see her but i'm not hopeful that it will make a difference.

Franklin Institute in Philadelphia is having a Star Wars exhibit from 2/9/08 until 5/4/08. :darth:

They are also doing a Real Pirate exhibit from 5/24/08 until 11/2/08.

I don't have little kids but DH is up for either exhibit... We'd have to go on a Saturday. I could bring my 4yo nephew though. My sis is up in NE Philly and he loves star wars and/or pirates.

Just between you and me:idea: how did you lose that much weight?:confused3 :confused3

He's a swabbie, Cheryl... They always lose faster than us wenches.

K, sorry about your DD, hopefully things get easier for you all.

It's 11:45pm and I just fixed a pot of coffee. Gonna head into the store this morning around 1am or so and see what is going on. I haven't done any of my "surprise visits" lately and I think my late night is due.

Basically, I agree with the Captain here . . . however, California Screamin' is perhaps my favorite coaster and the ToT is different than the one in Florida, which is fun if you are a fan. Also, there's just an interesting feel to DCA that really reminds me of where I am, which is nice.

How much more is a ticket with park hopping? The parks are right across from each other, making it very easy to start out the day in DL and then cut over to DCA for a while . . . you can even get a FP for later in the day at DL, and go over to DCA before returning to DL for the FP ride. If there is any way you could go for the park hopping, it is worth it more there than in Florida, since it is so much easier to do.

Plus, DCA typically closes before DL, so you head back over to DL to finish off the night. Also, DCA will have the new "Toy Story Mania" ride, due to open sometime this summer. But, if I had to chose - DL would win although MSEP is only on in DCA. It is literally no more than a 5 minute walk between the gates.

Just stopping by to wish everyone a Good Morning............

So far two families with a potential interest. Sounds like a mini-meet is forming. :thumbsup2

Happy Birthday and Anniversary to all we have missed

Have a great Thursday

Good morning everyone

Is anyone interested in a book exchange on board the ship?
Say if someone is done with their book they can exchange it with someone else that is done with theirs. Thought it would be a good way to limit how many books people have to pack, for those of us that are readers on vacation

Jo

I'd be up for that. With an 11 hour flight I'm sure I'll arrive at DL with a finnished book!

Believe it or not, I have my cabin number for the TOAL but not for the 5 nighter! I did tell my TA to inform DCL that we really hoped to be in the same cabin for both, even if it meant changing the TOAL cabin number. Fingers crossed!

It has been noted with several departments, Keeping my fingers crossed that it will come through :thumbsup2
