Do you have any idea what their policy is if the boat doesn't make it to PV? DH originally said "no way" (and I am afraid of heights and DEFINITLY won't be doing this) but DS8 is really begging after doing a zipline in Minnesota a few weeks ago! I think DH is weakening and they may be doing this ... The website says that it only costs $20 for non-participants to go and relax at the end (restaurant, bar, river, etc) so I could do that.

I couldn't find anything on their website about what happens if the ship can't stop at PV - I would assume they would not count that as a "no-show" and would refund our money, but I couldn't find anything online about that.

Hello Everyone! I try to read to catch up every now and then, but life has been a little crazy! My DD12 had a friend pass away in August and that was hard for all of us. She was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer in Oct. 06, and from late spring to early summer, she seemed to be doing better. In mid July she started having some problems again, and passed away in August. We took a fall trip to WDW and MNSSHP, and came home to our 13 year old cat who almost died while we were gone. Fortunately after a lot of money later, she improved and is doing remarkably well. We went out of town for a short Christmas break, and came home to a collapsed closet in our master bedroom. Now, we didn't have our home flooded or anything after our record rainfall in early December, but still a mess, and we decided to replace the closet with some nice drawers/shelves/rods, etc., put in new flooring, etc. Needless to say, between the cat and the closet we could have paid for another cruise! Then last night, I got a call from my DS9's teacher and she said that a classmate of his had his sister die from an asthma problem last week. It is so hard to explain to kids why people die. This raised questions from him of if we are just going to die, why are we here? I told him that we are here to help people and do nice things for others and when we go to heaven we can do nice things for people there as well. Does anyone else have any ideas of how to explain this to their kids? It just isn't right when a child dies.
Sorry to ramble, and I realize that I don't really know any of you, but I did catch up on some posts and feel I know you that way. I just saw the pirate zone website and that looks awesome. Thanks for doing that. We are very excited for this trip and are looking forward to planning more. I hope all of you have a wonderful day and enjoy your kids each and every day! I just called a local Travelers Clinic to see about the Hep A shots....
I was told that all they had at the moment was the Combo A & B. We would each need a series of 3 shots at a cost of $175.00 EACH or $1050.00 I then called the Visiting Nurses Association...Hep. A,series of 2 each at a cost of $60.00 a piece or $240.00. My question is; Do you think that we can do this cruise without the shots?

Debi, we didn't need any vac. for the last pc in 2005.

The one I have is on loan from the hospital but work will pay for me to get one in the next few days as it was an incident that caused my knee injury.

Hazel just got off the phone with my brother Pete. Pete said Charles seems to be doing OK and he was sent home from the hospital, but Pete and Marina will be keeping a very close eye on him.

Oh, Glacier is definitely on the list. In fact, we'll probably spend more time hiking at Glacier than in the crowds at Yellowstone. Glacier is surrounded by a lot of National Forest - where we can hike with Taiko. Did I mention we're taking the dog? Me, DS11, DS7, and a dog - in a pop up camper for 5-weeks!! Our Cat 4 on the Magic is going to seem like a palace!

Right now it's looking something like: Yellowstone, Glacier, The Woods (the family property in the WA Cascades), Mt Rainier (maybe St Helens?), the Olympic Penincula, and the OR coast on the way home. I'm on maps right now to see how doable that all is. It's looking like it might be possible...

Esteri, this sounds like a wonderful trip. We are hoping to go out west in 09 and see some of the country.

Here is a question for all you Dreams Unlimited folks out there. I am really leaning towards transferring my ressie, its definitely worth it $$ wise. We have our stateroom already and we have main dining which is what we wanted. We have not made our final payment yet. We don't anticipate having to make any changes to our ressie at this point.

We have done lots of research and found lots of pros but no cons other than we will have to call Dreams if we need to make any ressie changes. Am I missing anything here? Is this too good to be true - get $$ for transferring your ressie? What does Dreams get out of offering this to customers? I am just curious, I have heard wonderful glowing reviews about Dreams and I am ready to take the plunge but DH is a little more skeptical. Any insight would be helpful. What do you guys think?

I've had nothing but good experiences with Dreams Unlimited The one drawback is that you can't call them, they can only be contacted by e-mail. I thought someone on the DIS had a phone number, but since I've never needed it I couldn't tell you what it was
So far, they are just as good and in most cases better than previous travel agents we have used
I can't see any reason why you shouldn't transfer at this point

I was hoping to do a BOB excursion in Cabo, but DH (Darren) has problems with ear pressure His ears hurt when he goes too low in a swimming pool So if we can't find a way around that, we may try the ATV tour

Darren and the kids want to Zipline as well, but since that doesn't appeal to me (too scary ) I'll probably go shopping instead or find something else to do in Puerto Vallarta

We have booked this exact canopy tour for PV . . . Los Veranos. We are signed up for the 11 AM time, since we have to get off the boat and to the office by then.

Julie what made you pick this canopy tour over others I have to book for my family and since the old idea of them flying that high up makes me so nervous I want to make sure I pick the safest one

Had a great time , the weather was horrible at first but got better ...Our first time HOME with our DVC , it was great ...anyway , will be lurking for the next few days and trying to catch up on sleep and get the Christmas trees and stuff down ...

I don't know about the rest of you but I started my packing list and my non clothes list is much longer then my clothes list.

Things like over the door hanger, all the toiletries for 4 people, hats, sunglasses, etc really adds up

I like to start my list early and add on to it as I remember things but the problem is that I start adding too much. Need to scale it down some before the TOAL date rolls around.

Julie what made you pick this canopy tour over others I have to book for my family and since the old idea of them flying that high up makes me so nervous I want to make sure I pick the safest one

I am not Julie, but she, like me, has probably done a lot of research. I have spent hours looking over every site I can find that remotely mentions them and I heard nothing but good. They are even going out of their way to provide a private guide to a group of legally blind folks from another group.
They have a spotless record as far as I can find. They did have a guy die in Feb but it was a heart attack that certainly was not their fault. All I read said they handled it very well.
This one is also the longest from what I can tell. We are booking w/ them as well.

The chunky ones are available in Canada as well. We love kit kats - buy them and Aeros by the box at Costco. Still can't believe what they wanted for a kit kat in The Canada Pavilion at Epcot last September. Something like $2+ US - highway robbery. When I buy them by the case they are under a $1 CDN.

Lucky you! Yes, the candy in World Showcase in general is very expensive (but still sometimes worth it for a treat).
