Yes, I booked through them . . . they have had terrific reviews on tripadvisors and cruise critic.

My sister booked our group of six through them for the los veranos tour, too! I think we are scheduled for either 11 or 11:30. That was our Christmas present from her!

Maybe you don't want our chocolate biscuits, on our TV now we have Casualty, set in a Accident and Emergency hospital and a fat man just fell in a vat of Chocolate, That helps the diet, the paramedic is now swimming in it.

Helen is watching Casualty as I type, right now!!;)

Well them bullying their manager, ...well actually yes, they are ''helping'' me.

Well I have...no kidding, on week commencing 21st Monday week, about eight different consultant appointments booked over a two week period.

My Blood pressure was high, its checked weekly, and since starting my diet has fallen, I think the Steroids inflate it.

No results to my bone marrow, extraction so far, but I see that Doctor, later.

They know from the blood test and blood pressure and headaches I report, that there is something wrong, but they cannot find it, so they are going to check everything close to each other, from Heart, to intestines, to Neurology, to the bone density, to the bone marrow.

(I haven't told them I am Alien yet)

Strange you should say this but I was in hospital yesterday seening the consultant rheumatologist (a professor no less :snooty: ). He was possibly the nicest doctor I have ever met :) . He has referred me back for more physio and to see the consultant orthopedic surgeon for more tests and further investigations on my knee.

David I hope they can do something, I know the cold weather doesn't help, the place they punctured to take a sample of bone marrow, started hurting worse last week when we had the cold snap.

All the best.

You're quite right about the cold.

I told the consultant that my knee hardly bothers me when I'm in Florida or the Caribbean and he said he couldn't prescibe either under the National Health Service !!! :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Funny that I said the same thing to my doctor, the headaches and blood pressure go down on a cruise, I asked if the NHS would pay for one, !!!!!

David, I do not know if you will like this but, don't you think Peter Hains speech this afternoon looks just like the MP on Little Britain who always gets caught in a compromising position???

Which tour did you book? I see they have more than one. And for what time?

Las Juntas Los Veranos . . . 11 AM. Lots of ziplining, ending with a dual racing zipline with another person, then time at Pedros to eat, drink, swim, and visit with monkeys, parrots, and boa constrictors. Oh, and tequila tasting as well . . .

Its a date tea and hobnobs!

Excellent -- I will count on it! I prefer the wheat based biscuit like McVitties over the oatmeal based biscuit in Hobnobs, but beggar Americans can't be choosers  so I will gladly accept whatever you import to the cruise . . .

This was at lunch today at the Orleans Cafe.

Hi Roger. I loved your blogs about the restaurants in the resorts. Any recommendations for in-park restaurants? Either must-do ones or the ones to avoid. I know we're going to try to get resservations at Blue Bayou, but I don't really know anything about the other restaurants, and we'll be there for a few days.

You must be watching the news - same as me:)

I know what you mean about the Sec of States speech. Officially, it would have been written by one of his Special Advisers and not a Civil Servant. It's a pretty standard speech other than that.

I've met Peter Hain politically (when he stood for Parliament as Neath MP) but eventhough he is the Sec of State for the Government Department I work for, I have not met him officially.

Guess I am back to my 15 passenger van. :sad2:
I don't know why I fall for these things from DCL.
In our cruises case, the check in does not work either unless you have transfers from PC to MCO or air and transfers. LAX to port would not involve any airport check-in so it does not apply.
So you either have to buy transfers or you are on your own. I still fail to see how this is any different than what happens now. We have a 2:00 flight so it would not pay to get DCL transfers or we would be at the airport forever. I want to do what we did last time which was going to DTD or one of the hotels in the meantime.
Next time there is some kind of DCL "press release" that involves air or transfer everyone repeat "Coral, step away from the computer. If it sound too good to be true, it is!" :)

Coral, you could always rent a car for the day at MCO that way you could do something for a few hours--we have done this a couple of times. It is so nice not to have to mess with the luggage. When we have rented at the port, we were stuck with our luggage all day in the car---and I was worried about it.

I give up trying to find a "good" picture of me. Apparantly my picture is only taken on vacation and most of the time I look not so nice on vacation.
Here is my attempt:
These were from Alaska

and...

I think you all look great, and I especially like the younger M's pose in the first pic. How was your Alaska vacation? We're kicking that around as an idea for a future vacation.

Took DS to the neuro surgeon for his follow up. He got cleared to go back to school on Monday. :cool1: No more house arrest. He won't be back in PE until the end of the month. And no contact sports until March.

But there doesn't seem to be any lasting damage. They were initially concerned about possible hearing loss. But weird thing is it seems as it he hearing slightly improved. :confused3 He hasn't been wearing his hearing aids but he hasn't had to have the TV up as loud as he used to. Could be that he just doesn't really care about paying attention to the programs. We'll be scheduling a full hearing test in a few weeks.

Monica!!!! Wonderful news:yay:

The 1st MoD walk I did was when I was pregnant w/ oldest DD in 1996. I was about 15 weeks along. It was 12 miles and my friend and I ran the last of it just to be smart alecs to the ones that were huffing and puffing to finish walking.
Little did I know at that time what a difference MofD would make in my own life in just a few months. That baby was born at 24 weeks and would never be alive today if it were not for MoD. They developed Surfactant that kept Megan's tiny fragile lungs from "blowing". I cry every time I see one of their commercials as there is no way to repay the gift they made possible to me.

Also, Roger hug your wife for me. To little preemies (and their parents) the NICU nurses are God. I was amazed and pleased with what they could do for a baby so tiny (1 pound). I will forever be grateful beyond words and deeds how many people helped keep my little Megan with us.

This "little bundle of joy" just called her 8 yo sister a "pig" so I guess all is how it was intended to be. :)

What a great story, thanks for sharing

This answers part of our question on alcohol sales at Sam's in PV.
Copied this from CC.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

There is a Sam's Club in PV just across from the terminal. They have Vanilla and I think it would be a safe place to buy it. It is in glass bottles so be sure to pack it well. You don't have to be a Sam's Club member to shop there, but I think they charge you 10% more if you are not. We didn't buy vanilla there, but we did get geat prices on tequila and kahlua.__________________

According to what I am reading, they prefer pesos rather than dollars and I asked the question about how far walking wise and if they take giftcards at Walmart etc. When I get my answers I will post them :thumbsup2

Is there a Castaway Club Member gathering on the cruise? Like a welcome party? How do you show or do they ask for proof of membership?

Chrissie

If your Castaway Cay membership is associated with your reservation (you can check with DCL or your travel agent if you used one), you will receive an invitation in your room to the reception . . . you turn in the card when you go to the reception and there is a chance to win prizes. They show videos and a lot of the ship's officers are there. There also a few drinks/snacks, but nothing fabulous.

Yes, Laurie, I can tell you that the chunky ones are the ultimate for a kit kat fan . . . we were able to find them in Europe when we were there this past summer and Elizabeth (the oldest) bought a big supply to bring home and hoard for a while.

Happy new year, by the way!

The chunky ones are available in Canada as well. We love kit kats - buy them and Aeros by the box at Costco. Still can't believe what they wanted for a kit kat in The Canada Pavilion at Epcot last September. Something like $2+ US - highway robbery. When I buy them by the case they are under a $1 CDN.

This is our plan.............take DCL transfers from port to MCO and then rent a car at airport - this way we don't have to struggle with ALL that luggage. Our flight does not leave MCO until 6:15 pm so we will have plenty of time. I know it will cost us to take the transfers but I feel its worth it not having to mess with or worry about our luggage all day long.
