I will have to do laundry once we get on the ship. We are arriving in LA on the 13th so we will have 5 days worth of laundry by the time we get onto the ship. I figure if I do some laundry around the 1st or 2nd day the laundry room might not be so bad.rotfl:

Sue, I'd try and do it at HOJO's before you board the ship. Throw some in before dinner - or do a couple of runs while the kids are settling into bed. Maybe there might be time for a quick load on the Sunday am depending what time we head to the ship.

I'm hoping that changing out of dinner clothes quickly will save us on laundry (but that only works if I manage not drip anything on myself:rolleyes1 ).

If I could figure out how to not look tacky, you'd very likely see me with my napkin tucked in my dress at dinner! ;)

We'll be there for a week before the cruise. I'm planning to do laundry on Friday or Saturday night after the parks close.

You are going to be up late :lmao: but who's going to sleep the night before the TOAL anyways.:goodvibes I haven't seen any park times yet but based on past years - DL will probably be open til midnight on the Friday/Saturday plus after the park shuts Main Street is still open for at least another 1/2 to an hour. DCA closes earlier. The parks probably start changing the closing times to earlier the following week or the week after.

Works for me, as I love DL when it's dark and all the lights come on - truly magical.

Our room is located next to the laundry! (Hopefully that is a good thing!)
Stop by and say hello!

Brendan said tday we could use Sat as our hang around the pool and pack day...I disagree! I said Friday I will do laundry and pack because I want to savor every last moment of my DL experience...(Plus I have never seen DL at night!)

If Bud Abbott and Lou Costello were alive today, their infamous sketch,
"Who's on First?" might have turned out something like this:

COSTELLO CALLS TO BUY A COMPUTER FROM ABBOTT

(You have to be old enough to remember Abbott and Costello, and too old to
REALLY understand computers, to fully appreciate this.)

ABBOTT: Super Duper computer store. Can I help you?

COSTELLO: Thanks. I'm setting up an office in my den and I'm thinking about
buying a computer.

ABBOTT: Mac?

COSTELLO: No, the name's Lou.

ABBOTT: Your computer?

COSTELLO: I don't own a computer. I want to buy one.

ABBOTT: Mac?

COSTELLO: I told you, my name's Lou.

ABBOTT: What about Windows?

COSTELLO: Why? Will it get stuffy in here?

ABBOTT: Do you want a computer with Windows?

COSTELLO: I don't know. What will I see when I look at the windows?

ABBOTT: Wallpaper.

COSTELLO: Never mind the windows. I need a computer and software.

ABBOTT: Software for Windows?

COSTELLO: No. On the computer! I need something I can use to write
proposals, track expenses and run my business.? What do you ha ve?
ABBOTT: Office.

COSTELLO: Yeah, for my office. Can you recommend anything?

ABBOTT: I just did.

COSTELLO: You just did what?

ABBOTT: Recommend something.

COSTELLO: You recommended something?

ABBOTT: Yes.

COSTELLO: For my office?

ABBOTT: Yes.

COSTELLO: OK, what did you recommend for my office?

ABBOTT: Office.

COSTELLO: Yes, for my office!

ABBOTT: I recommend Office with Windows.

COSTELLO: I already have an office with windows! OK, let's just say I'm
sitting at my computer and I want to type a proposal.? What do I need?

ABBOTT: Word.

COSTELLO: What word?

ABBOTT: Word in Office.

COSTELLO: The only word in office is office.

ABBOTT: The Word in Office for Windows.

COSTELLO: Which word in office for windows?

ABBOTT: The Word you get when you click the blue "W".

COSTELLO: I'm going to click your blue "w" if you don't start wit h some
straight answers.? What about financial bookkeeping? You have anything I
can track my money with?

ABBOT T: Money.

COSTELLO: That's right. What do you have?

ABBOTT: Money.

COSTELLO: I need money to track my money?

ABBOTT: It comes bundled with your computer.

COSTELLO: What's bundled with my computer?

ABBOTT: Money.

COSTELLO: Money comes with my computer?

ABBOTT: Yes. No extra charge.

COSTELLO: I get a bundle of money with my computer? How much?

ABBOTT: One copy.

COSTELLO: Isn't it illegal to copy money?

ABBOTT: Microsoft gave us a license to copy Money.

COSTELLO: They can give you a license to copy money?

ABBOTT: Why not? THEY OWN IT!

???????? (A few days later)

ABBOTT: Super Duper computer store. Can I help you?

COSTELLO: How do I turn my computer off?

ABBOTT: Click on "START".............

I found this to be very funny I love "Whos on First" it is one of the funniest bits ever. this would be great to see with Bud and Lou

I've been really getting concerned about packing too. I need formal & semi-formal dresses, shoes, plus pirate costume, princess accessories, capris, shoes, shorts, shirts, bathing suits, shoes, cosmetics, did I mention shoes?

OMG I'm trying to stick to 2 suitcases & 1 carry on. Normally I would just take one big carry on for all of us & constantly grab it under the seat for gum, books, games, etc. This time I want us all to have our own, but I want them to be rolling so we aren't "lugging" anything. I've been searching the stores around here, but they don't have what I'm really looking for. They have to fit under the seat & be easy open & close. Maybe I'll have to buy on-line? :confused3

Esteri

Very funny...How something one's says can easily be turned or misunderstood!

Thanks:yay:

How about doing laundry before leaving the hotel?

We'll be there for a week before the cruise. I'm planning to do laundry on Friday or Saturday night after the parks close.

As far as packing.:sad2:

OOOh good idea, do laundry on the night before we leave Disneyland - only I am at Hojos, I will have to look into whether or not there is a laundry facility available there.

I'd better watch out where I walk :lmao:

I'm wondering if that was why I caught a pic of an Iguana in a bathtub on tv? Didn't hear the story.

Debi here is the pic of Rocky.

What a cutie Rocky is!!!! :thumbsup2

Just checking in with a very quick hello. I hope to go backwards tomorrow and read what all I've missed. We had company all week (one of the other "Escaping Moms" and her family) and the week before was our record number of 3 ER visits in one week....DS has MRSA Staph. He's doing much better now. So now that we've gotten all that over with, I can feel free to collapse.

All things happen in three's so I think you are done for a while!!!:goodvibes :flower3:

Hear no evil....speak no evil....or POST no evil.

Ok Guys with all the ladies deciding on what dresses and shoes they will buy and take, we shouldn't miss out on the fun, what are we going to take?

Should we have a discussion?

Honest question here. Can those that have opinions on this explain to me what is offensive? I never gave it a second thought. I have no problem with my DS wearing such a shirt. I suppose it could be that I am SO familiar (and enamored) with the PotC movies. Or possibly because my DS is in middle school and not such a young child?

I've been trying to understand, but I'm just not getting it.
I don't want a debate, I just want to know what's fueling the objection.
I think it's great that there will be a front only option for the shirts, for those that want it.

I don't think it's a case of offensive - I think it's a case of just not something I want my kid wearing. When we first had this discussion (way back when) I was a bit troubled by the back graphic - but couldn't put my finger on why. I knew it was something I wasn't going to be comfortable having my 6-year-old wear. Understand, he's never seen any of the POC movies, and doesn't get to watch much in the way of media. He's still quite sensitive to the images around him.

This is absolutely not a comment on anyone's parenting other than my own. Everyone should make the choices they are comfortable with - and I'm pleased that we are able to offer those choices.

In any case, since the t-**** order was some ways off I figured we had time, and it would sort itself out in the end.

And, with the new technology we're using, the willingness of our printer to handle whatever options we want to throw at him, and the ability of our shopping cart to manage options - the problem has resolved itself.

For some the issue will be cost - printing the back costs an extra $4.70 to $3.70 (depending on the size of our order) for others, the issue will be as I've outline above. I'll probably have the graphic on my shirt - but DS6 won't be getting it.

Wow, Esteri. That must have been some storm to take out your fence. You wanted to replace it anyways, right at least I hope you did.

Actually, it blew over in the last big storm 2 years ago. It was completely rotted out. It was being held up with a couple of braces we'd put in place. This storm did the braces in. So, the need for a new fence isn't axactly a surprise. The surprise is the fact the braces lasted two years! :rotfl:

My plan is to take as little as possible -

...

On both our 7 day cruises, we totally overpacked. I will not overpack this time, I will not overpack this time, I will not overpack this time...............

Hear, Hear. I think I can get by with two pairs of shoes. Ok, maybe three - Sneakers/walking shoes, Black sandals (all black Keens), and a pair of Crocs. That's it. Don't like my shoes? Don't look at my feet! Yeup - I'll be wearing those Keens with my formal - how very Californian of me. :rotfl:

As for the formal clothing - I'm still figuing it out. I'll bring one of the salwar I got in India, not certain if I'll use it twice or bring something else. The Indian members of the crew get such a kick when I wear it. If I bring a second formal - it'll be something I make. I was looking at the black dresses at Dharma Trading, and envisioned a black dress with a red rose. Not certain if it'll be a climbing rose, or a single long stemed red rose. Or if I'll even get it done at all. :lmao:

The rest will work itself out.

One thing I have figured out is that it's cheaper to buy a tux for the boys off eBay than rent one. Go figure.

I'm hoping that changing out of dinner clothes quickly will save us on laundry (but that only works if I manage not drip anything on myself:rolleyes1 ).

We have early dinner seating, would it be tacky to change clothes before going to the show??

Hi Chrissie!

How's the planning going?

You appear to be right by the laundry room I'll be using! If I bring a bottle of wine will you join me? :goodvibes

Planning is going great..I have my dress/tiara (both disney fairytale line) and we have our rings..I'm all set!

We are starting to look/narrow down venues now....so many choices!

Anyonw who planned a wedding is there a question you wished you asked a vendor/venue but didn't while planning your wedding!? I would love to know...making sure I am covering all bases and questions!

Stop by the room say hello...our room is just a walk in closet (lol) but we are on the ship!

Definately join you for some wine!
