1) Tell us something about your spouse we probably don't know...?

In college, DW challenged Boris, the Russian exchange student, to go shot for shot with her drinking vodka. She won hands down!

2) Have you considered any new Years' resolutions? If so, would you like to share them?

To lose weight. If i lost all of the weight that I have resolved to lose over the past years, I'd be in negative numbers.

3) When you proposed or were proposed to last - what was passing through your mind silently? Anything in particular worth sharing?

I proposed on the front porch of our house the day we settled on it. I don't remember exactly what I was thinking, but DW was afraid I wanted to carry her over the threshold.

4) If you have a PET... what did he or she do the last time they were "naughty"?

Zonkers is forever sticking his head in the trash to see what he can steal. His head is also just at the perfect height for skimming the table.

5) When was the last time you were sick more or less? What did you comedown with?

January of 2006, I was too busy and too stubborn to go to the doctor, so by the time I did, I had double pneumonia.

6) When was the last time you got a ticket (moving violation, infraction or parking)

I got a few parking tickets at work in the city. Just one more reason that I'm glad to be finished with that job.

7) And for thefinal question posed in 2007 ... by popular demand.... Tell us something about you we (probably) don't know... !

I am probably one of the only people to ever get boo'ed doing karaoke.

And SEVEN questions for Captain Crash.

List ALL the time's you were in trouble with the law but claimed you were innocent:dance3:

WE ARE IN!!!!

For the longest time, I thought I was going to cancel this cruise that I tried so hard to book. Now we just got off Magic for our first ever Xmas cruise and I was talking to DH about booking New Year cruise for 2008. So I said that what about the 15 night cruise, he said that why don't we go?!! He tought I have already cancelled it. He works A LOT even while on the ship, he racked up so much internet and phone charge while onboard for this past 7 night night trip. So I thought 15 nights will be way too long for him. I was so surprised that he loved it so much, he originally was the one totally against it saying why would he ever want to be on the ship for 7 nights, this and that....

So the next step, I would love to join the Dis group, there are 4 of us, but I can't find the place to sign up.

Thanks!!

That's great. So glad that you didn't cancel!

Here is a pic of the dress I picked up today for one of the formal nights - the only difference is tha my dress is silver instead of gold

That's really pretty Lorri!

I was thinking of buying a dress for DW for Christmas or her upcoming birthday, but I'm not that brave, at least not without her approval first.

Oh, I like that Lorri! :thumbsup2

Thanks Debi -somehow though I doubt that I'll be wearing that one on the second formal night:lmao:.

I also picked this one up and it is more forgiving and perfect for the second formal night:

Thanks! This is definately the time of year to be picking this kind of stuff up, especially with the sales that will be running the next several weeks and then clearance after that!

Very nice thought Mike. Kevin got me a dress for Christmas one year,I loved it. But then I had one exactly like it in the closet but in a different color. ;)
But I'll tell ya, I do like it when he comes with me to pick out those "Special" outfits. I love it when I find the one that makes him say "Wow!"

This makes my 1400th Post! :cool1:

Congrats Debbi on your 140th contribution here!

Andjust for the record, do you know how DIFFICULT it is to find an image commerating 1400 of anything? So, out of desperation I started looking for other things that depicted 1400... and this is the closest thing i could come up with.... 14 hundred dollar bills. And actually, there seem to be 16 hndred dollar bills here - so conisder this acknowledgement in advance of your 1600th as well as congrats on you 1400th!

There's going to be 2 Formal Nights!?

Wow, ladies, what elegant dresses! You will be so beautiful! I'm going to have to rethink my wardrobe!

Hey, anyone else not getting the e-mail notification now that they upgraded? That's how I usually find where I left off!

Mary Ann....

... forgive me for askin' ... but do you / did you have symptoms of just coughing and junk in you throat? Plus ONLY a moderate sinus pressure headache? These are my symptoms and I don't know if this is this years' rendition of the flu sweeping the nation.

If so, and IF you are finally getting better... may I ask how long its' taken for you to improve? :confused3 I was hoping to turn a corner soon so i can join my family and visiting relatives in diversions soon... but will not if I'm not well. I would NOT want to be implicated in getting them sick by spending the whole day ... day after day .... coughing near them while they are on vacation. Know what I mean?

Unfortunately, I'm expecting to hunker down at our hotel (or home if I get any worse) and miss them the whole week. Which leaves Alicia almost alone with the two girls at Disneyland... well... they will have the company of cousins and the uncle and auntie (cousins).

I'm afraid my answer to this is a bit winded.......

A few days after I returned from FL I came down with a headcold. I felt bad enough that when I went for treatment the Tuesday before X-Mas I thought they may not treat me. My counts were fine and my throat looked OK so I had my treatment.

By Thursday I felt pretty good and finished my X-Mas shopping and when I got home shoveled some snow from the storm that day. Well, that same night, about 6Pm I started not feeling well and got worse by the minute. I was up all night coughing (delsym was no help)and could not lift my head up without intense pain, and at one point had a fever of 101 - not good. My oncology office is closed Friday but is always on call and told me to see my PCP. He gave me meds (antibiotics and cough medicince), but was really concerned and took blood. I got a call later that afternoon that my white blood cell counts were through the roof - again, not good. I was told if I started feeling ANY worse or had fever to go to emergency immediately. The last thing I wanted to do was end up in the hospital on a holiday weekend. I could tell Saturday that the meds were working, so thank goodness, that was not needed. I basically stayed in bed from then until this past Friday. I went to BIL/SIL's for Christmas, but didn't stay long.

I don't know if I got the the flu or just a sinus infection that went crazy because of my compromised immune system, but whatever it was hung on for a full week. If you can get your Dr to call in some antibiotics to the pharmacy before you leave for vacation, I would go for it. They gave me Levaquin (sp?) which are quite strong, but I did feel they were working within 24 hrs.

I hope you feel better and can enjoy the week with your family.

[in a grand sarcastic voice]

Thanks Mike for noting this posting of Anderws' which I missed while I napped earlier today...

And SEVEN questions for Captain Crash.

1) Tell us something when you broke the law and your spouse probably didn't know...?

2) Have you considered any innocent new Years' resolutions? If so, would you like to share them?

3) When you first posted an ANIMATION, - what was passing through your mind silently? Anything in particular worth sharing?

4) If you are honest... what did you do the last time you were "naughty"?

5) When was the last time you threw a sickie at work, What did you claim to comedown with?

6) When was the last time you got a ticket (moving violation, infraction or parking)

7) When was the previous time you were in trouble with the law

OK more than 7)

List ALL the time's you were in trouble with the law but claimed you were innocent:dance3:

I think some of these questions are perhaps difficult to reply to - if we get few responses - or a number of skipped replies I would not be surprised. I will be among the first few to reply in good faith.... in a few minutes AFTER the first 2 replies post.

PS

Happy new year!!!!!!!!:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

#1) This one is easy.... the red lite running I was cited for recently has yet to be divulged to my sweet spouse.

#2) Yes, I am plotting my tactics to preserve my "INNOCENT appearance" while pursuing (censured to protect the INNOCENT) diversions.... ;)

#3) Ahhh.... yes. I remember this one clearly... in my mind i was silently .. chuckling....

#4) I'd lke to exercise my 5th Amendment rights to avoid self incrimination constable. Does this mean I'm ... HONEST?

#5) Having been run my business over 20 years I'd say I have little moive for dodging work under false pretense. So, with that I'd say I've NEVER exercised a false "sickie". But if I did ... i would probably have said I had been attacked by the Rabbit of Caerbannog... Monty Pythons's Vorpal Bunny

#6) Hey this was an unmodified (repeat) question - so I'm going to apply my answer on question #1 here again.

#7) And on this question - I must exercise my cowardly reply on #4 again... < chuckles >

Bonus question = I'm gonna need a little time to sort this one out.... now when is it that we're embarking again????

Thanks for the long detailed reply...

... I am feeling worse than I've admitted... however, I am feeling a little better now compared to earlier today and yesterday. I wonder what I'll do in the days to come. Bugger of a time to want a doctor visit that technically does not qualify as an emergency room visit. I am of the opinion that I can shake this off naturally as it is just a cough with the throat much recovered now... however, if I venture out it seems like it could snowball into worse in short order. I am hoping to feel much better tomorrow morning as we are scheduled to drive down to Knotts berry farm for the day then stay at a nice hotel for a couple nites. This was to enable easy visits to Disneyland on the 1st and 2nd. Alicia will have the help of her cousins : Uncle Tim and Auntie Bobbie and thier daughter Tiana. However, this was not the original plan.

I'll discuss this with Alicia now and see if your suggestions shed any light on any new considerations for us. Thanks again... I gotta go get somethin' to eat now too.

Just got Kev's approval...the black and white!

That's the one I liked too :thumbsup2 . Very pretty

Mary Ann, hate to hear you were under the weather for the holidays. Hopefully you are better now. Great getting you airfare booked! Itis always nice to cross one more thing off that never ending to do list.:goodvibes

Thanks, I feel much better now

Perhaps the Dr will take pity on you if you explain you are heading out for vacation, and will call something in for you, especially seeing it's New Year's Eve :confused3 . I would worry about how runned down you may get from traveling and such. It may come back at you much worse.

I love my PCP - he does not accept appts. (only for physicals). I have never waited more than 20 minutes when I show up at his office and wait my turn.

Randy is that you??? :rotfl2:

Thanks Andy I appreciate it! Maybe whatever is ailing me will disappear again? I hope! :confused3

Diane, one of my friends at work has symptoms like that. She sees many drs and has lupus. The swelling of the hands is what caught my eye as she wakes up every night in pain and has to take pain pills and her fingers swell as well. Hope this is not your case .
