Kevin and I were just discussing, we can really only afford to go to one of the parks. Which would you all suggest, Disneyland or California Adventure?
CA looks like it may have a few more "thrill" rides. Not really all that interested in watching the fireworks and stuff. :confused3

There is no question about it Disneyland

Basically, I agree with the Captain here . . . however, California Screamin' is perhaps my favorite coaster and the ToT is different than the one in Florida, which is fun if you are a fan. Also, there's just an interesting feel to DCA that really reminds me of where I am, which is nice.

How much more is a ticket with park hopping? The parks are right across from each other, making it very easy to start out the day in DL and then cut over to DCA for a while . . . you can even get a FP for later in the day at DL, and go over to DCA before returning to DL for the FP ride. If there is any way you could go for the park hopping, it is worth it more there than in Florida, since it is so much easier to do.

Hi,

Packing lists - I have a site bookmarked: www.cruisediva.com - she has a lot of tips/packing lists.

I too pack light - last Aug. I went to Paris before the cruise - 18 days and only 1 suitcase & 1 carry-on. I did laundry once ( of course it was only me not the whole family!) But I did mix & match rather than lots of different outfilts.

I guess I might be OC also - I had a list of what to wear each evening along with what jewelry went w/what - kept the list in the dest drawer!!

Thanks for the link. I can't believe it took me a year to create a bookmark named "panama". I had my bookmarks all over the place. duh

My suggestion is Disneyland. CA probably won't be as crowded as DL though. If you are staying at an off site hotel, they sell DL tickets for less money than you can buy them at DL. Call HoJo and they can tell you how much tickets are.

I would love to do the book exchange. Reading is something I enjoy a lot. I leave early to pick up the boys from school so I can sit and read uninterrupted.

Oh, Monica, stay strong! We are all thinking of you and Trevoy! Prayers to both of you!!!
I still have it booked, but at this point I don't think it will happen.

We had a set back with Trevoy. He was acting up so much yesterday that they asked that he not have any visitors. He was very violent and threatening towards the staff and toward me when I tried to call him. I did visit this morning and he is doing better. But the staff wants to continue to limit visits to only me and only for 30 minutes at a time. There are 3 different 1 hour sessions that the kids can have visitors and Trevoy is used to having someone there each time. So this is really hard on him.

From the FAQ from Red Rose ranch, they do not require any prior experience, and you could even ride with your 7 year old if you wanted (on the same horse). However, I think it could only enhance the experience for him to have already been on a horse a few times -- that level of comfort would make it more enjoyable for him to enjoy what is different about this ride (the Mexican scenery, the beach, etc.). So if it's not too difficult, I would probably recommend a few lessons at home just so that he is not so caught up in the novelty of riding that he can't enjoy where he is doing the riding!

thanks

Hi guys! Just popping in to say I completed my first full marathon at WDW this past weekend. Not too shabby for an old fat broad! Maybe now that the training is finally over I'll be able to get over here more often.
Happy day to all!

:worship:

I know what you mean, I am hardly ever on that one because this thread is so high maintenance! Quite a few are staying on, and I guess we will all be going through customs and getting checked back in for the next one together around 9:30 or 10 or so. I know that Pbader, winotracy, jeanneg, Disneysweetie, your group, and mine are staying on, and I believe got2travel and grandma x3 might be.

Julie and Todd, I have the same problem--I have good intentions, it is just so hard to follow through with them.

Franklin Institute in Philadelphia is having a Star Wars exhibit from 2/9/08 until 5/4/08. :darth:

We have a membership & will definately be making multiple visits.

If anyone is interested it would be a great opportunity for our kids to meet.

They are also doing a Real Pirate exhibit from 5/24/08 until 11/2/08.

PM me if you're interested.
:darth: :ewok: :yoda: :chewy:

Kind of like me here :lmao: :lmao: I try to keep up here, but it's tough at times.

I heard that DCL likes to keep people in the same cabin if at all possible. I told them I'd sacrifice and take the Roy for the TOAL, but somehow I don't think they'll upgrade me :lmao: :lmao:

I have a request to stay in the same cabin too. I have my room # for the 5 nighter and GTY for the TOAL too. I did tell Sue Ellen that I would be willing to have my 5 nighter switched if needed to keep the same room. I am keeping my fingers crossed that I don't have to move.:)

Okay cool ...90 minutes isnt too bad and I dont have that far to move my stuff ....Anyone wanna make a day trip to the World or is that asking too much ???

pirate:

Count me out on that--I hope maybe to get a couple of loads of clothes washed that day and enjoy the pool.:)

Monica, I hate to hear that.  Keeping you both in my prayers.

Hey my family and I are going on this cruise. I have a 15 year old and was wondering if we know of any teens going.

Anybody else having trouble with the Disney site? Been trying to log into "My Cruise" for the last 2 days and all I get is "Error on page" :confused3

Sorry to tell you Debi but I even checked and my wish list was there!!

Gee, Julie, I wish it were true but I will NOT be continuing on the 5-night.....UNLESS my wonderful TA intends to surprise me with a free cruise! (did you hear that, Tracy?)

Congrats!!!!:yay:

Monica...I am so sorry Trevoy had a set back!!!:flower3: You will both continue in our prayers.

Hurray!:cool1: Time enough for the room assignment -- at least since on occasion they have opened a few cabins up for booking, we know that the ship can't be as wildly overbooked as we had feared at one time . . . The later they wait to assign you, perhaps the better your chance for an upgrade!

I got an up-grade when I had a room assignment. :rolleyes1 I did not complain when I paid for a Cat 8 and got a Cat 5. DCL knew what they were doing!!!:lmao: :lmao: I have paid ever since the first cruise to stay in a Cat 5.:headache:

They have grown a lot, both of them, the difference in them from the 2005 repo to the Med in 2007, is astounding, and many people on the Dis has mentioned that.

Doctors the barrage of appointments starts next week I had BP tonight and a weight check, BP down to 138/82, so in the normal range, and weight I am down a stone from January 1st, if all of the scales are correct!

My new video, how to loose a stone in 16 days is in all good retailers ( and Walmart) next week.

I still have a long way to go.

Alice is also sticking to her, so she is doing well.

Hows you and the three ladies?

PS I do not know if I would like 20 days on the Magic, but didn't have the option due to school starting on September 3rd.

I am so glad to hear your Blood Pressure is down!!:woohoo: :woohoo:

Just between you and me:idea: how did you lose that much weight?:confused3 :confused3
