THe same thing happened to my dad. He was in ICU after heart failure and I got a call at 5am telling me to come get him. When I got there he was going nuts (nasty nuts). I'm like, what did you do to him? Honestly, the staff was so angry with him they would barely speak to me. They were just giving me things to sign him out AMA. Come to find out they gave hime ativan, which I found out later, can have this effect in eldery, heavy smokers. He was released too soon and ended up back in ICU a few days later and they never marked his charts to not give him ativan :confused3 . I got a little upset about that. He turned into this person that I did not reconize.

Yes, he was screaming vulgarity and speaking his mind with her as to what he wanted in the marital sense:sad2: didn't remember anyone, wouldn't eat etc...... They still haven't taken him to PT due to another sore on his foot which still hasn't healed. Basic point here is this is a lovely, clean place which is so much better than the first one he was in and she is afraid to really cause any havoc fearing they will release him. He is so far from getting out which is sad.

On a sadder note ther is a terrible pile up on I4 south of Disney, now involving over 50 cars. When you see the view from the copters, it is a solid blanket of fog. This article is a bit old and the updates on tv are possitively horrifying. How sad to start the day this way......

CHARTER BUS INFO: DL TO PORT

Wendy - welcome to the charter bus team!!! With you & Julie & I - it should be easy & fun!!

I did some preliminary research - 134 charter bus companies in the LA area - for a 5 hr. charter the posted rates are under $8. pp.
The full size buses hold from 45 - 60 people - and mini-buses hold from 20 - 38.
It makes no sense to negotiate a contract until after the May final payment. However, it is a GREAT idea to keep a list of those interested so that when the time comes we'll have a firm idea of what is required. QUOTE]

Thanks. Looks like you've been busy today. Under $8 pp is a bargain - I'm need one somewhere on this trip. Does it look like any of them will make a water/liquor stop - I know some people were interested in that option?

Are there any plans on getting a charter bus for anyone coming in the day of the cruise?

Impossible to have too many -- we can all do our part . . . all are welcome!

I can be the sober wench on the committee if you are still in need of one. :lmao: Sorry, I don't drink. But I do plan on putting together a fish extender (my first, yes I am a fish extender virgin). So if you still need help let me know.

im thinking about adding on to this vacation. im already booked for disneyland 4 nights before the cruise. im thinking about going to las vegas for 2 nights before disneyland. i live in new jersey i will be flying out of philly the plane cost is actually cheaper if i fly to vegas on the 11th than on the 13th fly to LA. thats for non stop flights. i know 2 nights at vegas is not much time but i have never been, 2 things seems to always get in the way wdw and dcl.

ATTENTION ALL
WESTCOAST PIRATES!!

MARCH 15th at Disneyland

The 60 day mark is quickly approaching and we need a head count for dinner at the Blue Bayou. Please PM Todd (DisneyVegas1) or myself with the number of people (and how many 9 and under).

I never had a FE either. This will be my first as well. I think I already signed up to be a designated walker :lmao: DH will have his scooter onboard as well for those unable to find their way back to their rooms:rotfl2:

off to work :surfweb:

i will be waiting to buy my plane tickets.
i just look from philly to vegas on aug 11 than to lax on the 13th than from orlando to phlilly will be 531 dollars for all non stop flights. i didnt think it was that bad of a price than i put in january 21 philly to vegas than the 23rd to lax than feb 11 orlando to philly they are all on the same daymonday, wednesday than on monday it was 263 dollars for the same flights.less than half. so i will wait longer to see when the price comes down. you will think it will be cheaper the farther out you book.

That's a good question, Jo -- I think it hadn't been discussed because so many are coming in various days before the cruise, but certainly if enough were coming in that morning to justify a mini-bus (20-30 people) it could be practical.

One doesn't have to drink to be on the fish extender committee -- it was a joke (more or less, anyway!:rotfl: ). It's too early to get overly organized about it, but I can see various roles, particularly with so many potential fish extenders . . . someone to keep track of who is putting up fish extenders and their cabin numbers . . .another to put together a pdf of the ship decks and where the fish extender rooms are . . . someone to assign days for those who wish to give out fish extender gifts so that they get evenly spaced throughout the cruise . . . someone as the point person for last minute cabin number changes (perhaps a list on their cabin door with any changes) . . . this is a minimum, and some of these jobs might require more than one person.

(Then of course there is the organizational meeting planned for the bar for anyone who wants to come . . .:rotfl2: )

I am envious of all of you that take so much time off at one time. I get 5 weeks a year vacation + holidays but it is a stretch to take 2 weeks at a time - anymore and I would not be very popular. Also, DH owns his own business and communicating via email only for that long is not going to be real good. Enjoy! :)

None. Would be difficult to do at airport with all the security. Probably less hassle for DCL transfers (but more $$)

We need someone to keep the rest of them in line (or to dump them back at their rooms).

Of course, I wonder if DCL will have enough booze on board for this crowd or will they be restocking at every port? :lmao: :lmao:

Chris ,Julie and Wendy just make sure it has enough bottom storage for all the luggage. Or we will need 1 bus just for that!!!! May not be a bad idea

I remember you mentioned this before . . . keep reminding us that we need to confirm with any chartered bus the amount of luggage storage . . .

One option, although it may drive price up some, is to underbook bus (e.g. 40 people in a 60 seat bus) and use excess for luggage. If we are limited with DCL to 2 bags per person??? then just tell bus company to expect that and they will work with you.

Thanks. Looks like you've been busy today. Under $8 pp is a bargain - I'm need one somewhere on this trip. Does it look like any of them will make a water/liquor stop - I know some people were interested in that option?

Wendy, we get the bus for 5 hours and can do whatever we want (within legal limits!) in that time . . . no problem with stopping at multiple hotels as well as a water/liquor stop . . .

This of course will have to factor into the luggage space equation. Also, someone will have to find a really good discount liquor store on the way...

That sounds like a story I would like to hear!

It was posted a few months back, should be easy to find....LOL

I'll join the swabbies walking by the deck 10 windows in my speedo, or belly up to the bar :cool1:

I would say "Be careful of what you wish for!" Not sure you want all of these swabbies in speedos, especially where food is involved.

Tom, can you add her on the committee on the pirate site? Many thanks!:thumbsup2

Done

Anyone want to take guess on how many families we have as part of our group? I am trying to keep a look out for something to put in everyones fish extended and have no clue how many there really are or how you even consider if you are part of "our group". Anyone have any ideas???

Coral

I'm planning for at least 100. Our last cruise I did some of my *gifts* per stateroom and some per person/child.

I already have several hundred things ready!!! :rotfl: :rotfl:

I really could use the lessons!!!:thumbsup2 Keep inviting me and I might show up.:goodvibes

Can you have Elvis post the picture he created.:rolleyes1

I'll have him post tongith while his sister and I are at rehearsals...... he gets a night off. :rotfl:

My husband works for a custom builder and it is hard for him to get that much time off in the summer. So extra days at DL are out. It was pushing it to get 2 weeks, but the building trade is pretty slow right now. He doesn't want to be away too long or he may not have a job when he gets back.:scared:

"One doesn't have to drink to be on the fish extender committee -- it was a joke (more or less, anyway!)." I haven't figured out multiquotes yet.

I am not against drinking and do have an occasional glass of wine, but because of health issues I rarely drink. I was just trying to be amusing (unsuccessfully I guess).

We are now into our year that our voyage is going to happen and time will now start to move real fast and before we lose track of anything I just want to Thank EVERYONE for there help with everything from the website to Ts**ts to bus schedule and information along with setting up excursions and so forth . Don't worry, it was taken in a good way, hence the "designated walker" and other similar comments.

Just in From WDW , exhausted wont even try to catch up but hopefully someone can give the little details .... Had a great time , the weather was horrible at first but got better ...Our first time HOME with our DVC , it was great ...anyway , will be lurking for the next few days and trying to catch up on sleep and get the Christmas trees and stuff down ...pirate:

It's time to start another day................:goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes

Hi Andy, The cold weather is heading your way again. The 65 was nioce while it lasted.:cloud9:

WENCHES BRUNCH & TEA

Since it is now 2008 - it seems timely that go to the next level of TOAL planning.
For the Aug. Med Repo I organized 2 Ladies (now known as Wenches) Palo Brunch and a Palo Tea.
I volunteer to do so again for our cruise. Unless someone else wants to take this on!!!

BRUNCH:
What I did was reserve the Palo private dining room for 2 of the sea days. The limit is 14 for each brunch. I know other groups are also planning on reserving the room for brunch during sea days - so it would be helpful to have an idea how many are interested. I do have a preliminary list started already.
I'll post the sea day dates - and we can choose. How many depends on how many are interested. One caveat is that if you book your own separate brunch - the manager cancels it in favor of the private room brunch. ( I hope that makes sense)
For those interested I need your full name & ressie # - PM'd to me. When DCL opens the booking date - I will fax our request. In August they approved both requests.

TEA:
The private dining room was not available for the tea. So, what I did was take my list of guests (full names & ressie#) and the date (or dates) I wanted and as soon as I embarked I ran (literally) up to Palo and met w/the manager to place my request. What they did was give us 3 -4 large table all near each other. I only requested one date and there were 25- 30 of us.
The Palo manager is great and simply made it work!! I warned him I would be back for the PC repo!!!
I don't know if the dining room will be available for this cruise - during the Med repo they did not have enought servers so it was unavailable. Perhaps it will be different this time. I will check on that when that info is available.

Anyway - that's the info. I don't know if this is something to add to the web site???? Or.......

Chris, I am trying to get the private room too for mine and John's 40th Anniversary party for a brunch. :yay:

Thanks Stephanie!!!:woohoo:

FYI - Southwest just opened booking through 8/3/08 for anyone going out WAY early.

I plugged in 8/1/08, exactly 2 weeks before I plan to fly & I wan't terribly impressed with the price. I can do better on sidestep so far.
