Tom maybe we should organize the swabbies at the bar while the wenches are dining at Palo.

Don't count the wenches out of the bar action!!!!!:dance3:

Anyway, I thought the swabbies were going to put on some kind of a speedo show outside of Palo while we were in having brunch . . . (no images other than those in everyone's imagination, please! I don't want to be responsible once again for goading someone into trouble!)

Swabbies at the baaaarrrrrr don't need no organizing!

In looking for a graphic for swabbies at a bar I stumbled across this in Sacramento. We may have to send Esteri in for a reconnaissance mission.

Swabbie's Marina is a bar and grill that also serves as a marina. The marina consists of 13 cover slips that can accommodate boats 30 feet in length with up to a 12 foot beam. The spaces can be rented out daily, monthly or yearly.

Never have to be persuaded to belly up to the bar. :cool1:
Do you have too many people on the "fish planning committee"?

Impossible to have too many -- we can all do our part . . . all are welcome!

OMG, I was handing out ativan last night as if it was candy. What a night!
My friends husband has been in a nursing home for over a year now and when he started acting bizarre the staff told her he had dementia and he would never leave the nursing home.:sad1: (another excuse to not have him in PT).... They had to take him to the hospital due to another issue and the nurses there( who knew her) told her to get him off the med. I looked it up for her and all his symptoms were there. He was 150% better within a few weeks and remembered people etc. They slipped it back to him and she knew immediately by his behavior. Strong drug and dangerous when in the hands of amatuers.

I don't know, but I keep hitting my screen trying to get rid of them.........:rotfl2:

Me too :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

No problem. So far, the interested parties are:

Dahuffy Debi 2 Hojo's
Msaseifert Sue 4 Hojo's
Paulasillars Paula 3 DL Hotel
Smeecanada Wendy 4 BW Park Place

So, if anyone else is possibly interested in boarding the Pirate Bus to the Port, PM me. You are under no committment to take the bus at this point and time, we just need some rough numbers to work with for figuring out cost.

Me Too:thumbsup2

Chris ,Julie and Wendy just make sure it has enough bottom storage for all the luggage. Or we will need 1 bus just for that!!!! May not be a bad idea

Chris ,Julie and Wendy just make sure it has enough bottom storage for all the luggage. Or we will need 1 bus just for that!!!! May not be a bad idea

I remember you mentioned this before . . . keep reminding us that we need to confirm with any chartered bus the amount of luggage storage . . .

Not only that, but the area of Mexico that we adopted Angelina from had raw sewage running right down the side of the street, we had to step over it many times to get to the missionary's home where we were staying.....:faint:

Does not sound like the place I would want to live. :scared1:

Now I know you need to visit so that Elvis can teach you! :rotfl: :rotfl: He is becoming quite the master....... One of his favorites was when he made it look like a bug was crawling out of Katherine's nose..........

For those that don't my family --- Elvis (9ds), Katherine (24dd)

I really could use the lessons!!!:thumbsup2 Keep inviting me and I might show up.:goodvibes

Can you have Elvis post the picture he created.:rolleyes1

Coral, we will get a list together (probably after final payment is due and people start to get room numbers) of everyone who plans to hang something on the fish extender . . we can even try to coordinate who will be giving out on which days so that people get things evenly throughout the trip (we did this on my Med cruise last summer and it was much more fun than getting a lot of things at the beginning and nothing later). Tom has a list of people helping with the fish extender list on the website, and you are welcome to join if you'd like . . .:goodvibes

I do believe all meetings were to be held at the bar?:confused3 :confused3

Tom maybe we should organize the swabbies at the bar while the wenches are dining at Palo.

I would rather be at the bar than tea!!:lmao: :lmao:

CHARTER BUS INFO: DL TO PORT

Wendy - welcome to the charter bus team!!! With you & Julie & I - it should be easy & fun!!

I did some preliminary research - 134 charter bus companies in the LA area - for a 5 hr. charter the posted rates are under $8. pp.
The full size buses hold from 45 - 60 people - and mini-buses hold from 20 - 38.
It makes no sense to negotiate a contract until after the May final payment. However, it is a GREAT idea to keep a list of those interested so that when the time comes we'll have a firm idea of what is required. QUOTE]

Thanks. Looks like you've been busy today. Under $8 pp is a bargain - I'm need one somewhere on this trip. Does it look like any of them will make a water/liquor stop - I know some people were interested in that option?

Just in From WDW , exhausted wont even try to catch up but hopefully someone can give the little details .... Had a great time , the weather was horrible at first but got better ...Our first time HOME with our DVC , it was great ...anyway , will be lurking for the next few days and trying to catch up on sleep and get the Christmas trees and stuff down ...

We have Independence Blue Cross. They consider the Hep shots as for travelers and as such, won't pay a dime of it.
My Internist didn't seem to think it was neccessary. :confused3

I'm fully vaccinated for everything under the sun as I've been to number of "high risk" countries but I consider Hep A as critical regardless of traveling overseas or whether you never go anywhere - its highly contagious and can be life threatening.

The article on Wikipedia http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hepatitis_A shows how widespread it is - even eating a local restaurant puts you at potential risk. The most widespread hepatitis A outbreak in American history afflicted at least 640 people (killing four) in north-eastern Ohio and south-western Pennsylvania in late 2003. In November of that year, the outbreak was blamed on tainted green onions at a restaurant in Monaca, Pennsylvania.

Most vaccines are life time for Hep A so in my opinion its simply not worth the risk to not have it.

The nurse at the travel clinic I go to also recommended a flu vaccine to build up immunity before we go. We will have had that anyway as it will be the tail end of our winter when we will be going to the US.

As with all vaccinations, its personal choice but I'd simply not risk it even if I never left my own neighbourhood.

WENCHES BRUNCH & TEA

Since it is now 2008 - it seems timely that go to the next level of TOAL planning.
For the Aug. Med Repo I organized 2 Ladies (now known as Wenches) Palo Brunch and a Palo Tea.
I volunteer to do so again for our cruise. Unless someone else wants to take this on!!!

BRUNCH:
What I did was reserve the Palo private dining room for 2 of the sea days. The limit is 14 for each brunch. I know other groups are also planning on reserving the room for brunch during sea days - so it would be helpful to have an idea how many are interested. I do have a preliminary list started already.
I'll post the sea day dates - and we can choose. How many depends on how many are interested. One caveat is that if you book your own separate brunch - the manager cancels it in favor of the private room brunch. ( I hope that makes sense)
For those interested I need your full name & ressie # - PM'd to me. When DCL opens the booking date - I will fax our request. In August they approved both requests.

TEA:
The private dining room was not available for the tea. So, what I did was take my list of guests (full names & ressie#) and the date (or dates) I wanted and as soon as I embarked I ran (literally) up to Palo and met w/the manager to place my request. What they did was give us 3 -4 large table all near each other. I only requested one date and there were 25- 30 of us.
The Palo manager is great and simply made it work!! I warned him I would be back for the PC repo!!!
I don't know if the dining room will be available for this cruise - during the Med repo they did not have enought servers so it was unavailable. Perhaps it will be different this time. I will check on that when that info is available.

Anyway - that's the info. I don't know if this is something to add to the web site???? Or.......

Hmmm, not sure if DH will let me go to Palo alone. Has anyone met Anton? Wonder if he's still there. Somehow, his tour of the brunch buffet included something about running away to Tuscany. ...or maybe that was my mimosa talking.

Seriously, I've never been to tea. That would be fun.

Aren't you glad I stayed out of trouble and didn't have to PM you to get me out of Disney jail (if there is such a thing) or something?????:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Oh, it exists. Just ask Mark.

Gosh Mark and Laura have been missing for a while. I wish they'd come back.

Tom maybe we should organize the swabbies at the bar while the wenches are dining at Palo.

Yeah, you're going to need some liquid courage for the Speedo parade.

Just in From WDW , exhausted wont even try to catch up but hopefully someone can give the little details .... Had a great time , the weather was horrible at first but got better ...Our first time HOME with our DVC , it was great ...anyway , will be lurking for the next few days and trying to catch up on sleep and get the Christmas trees and stuff down ...

pirate:

Welcome back riders.

Oh, we're supposed to take the Christmas tree down? Seems like such a waste. We're just going to need it again in 11 months.

Quote got dropped...
I thought PCH was the school that the character played by Brittney Spears pregnant sister went to?

Also, M, have you seen the ??dunkin donuts?? commercial with the "I'm freezing at pee wee hockey" song? Makes me think of you.

I haven't seen the commercial, but that sounds about right. Only I freeze at Squirt hockey. Pee Wee is actually an age level (11-12 year olds). I stay warm at Mite hockey (6-8) since I'm on the ice...with my travel coffee mug.

I do believe all meetings were to be held at the bar?:confused3 :confused3

You were right, Cheryl . . . I was just trying to "be good" and stay on the fish extender topic for once . . .:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Thanks. Looks like you've been busy today. Under $8 pp is a bargain - I'm need one somewhere on this trip. Does it look like any of them will make a water/liquor stop - I know some people were interested in that option?

Wendy, we get the bus for 5 hours and can do whatever we want (within legal limits!) in that time . . . no problem with stopping at multiple hotels as well as a water/liquor stop . . .

Oh, it exists. Just ask Mark.

That sounds like a story I would like to hear!

WENCHES BRUNCH & TEA

BRUNCH:

..

This must be a recent change in policy. I organzined the brunch room for the 2006 holiday cruise and all other parties (except myself) could book an additional brunch. But, then again, I only had to give a head count, not names and ressie numbers. I had PM'd that I wanted to join, but my DH loves the Palo Brunch more than I do, so if it means I can't get my own ressie for the both of us, I am going to bow out. :sad1: I'm bummed - it sounded like a blast.

I'll join the swabbies walking by the deck 10 windows in my speedo, or belly up to the bar :cool1:

THe same thing happened to my dad. He was in ICU after heart failure and I got a call at 5am telling me to come get him. When I got there he was going nuts (nasty nuts). I'm like, what did you do to him? Honestly, the staff was so angry with him they would barely speak to me. They were just giving me things to sign him out AMA. Come to find out they gave hime ativan, which I found out later, can have this effect in eldery, heavy smokers. He was released too soon and ended up back in ICU a few days later and they never marked his charts to not give him ativan :confused3 . I got a little upset about that. He turned into this person that I did not reconize.
