OK, we'll hit the Adventurers Club on our first night there. That way, if we like it we can go back! We're not big fans of clubs - so the fact your DH likes it is encouraging. :goodvibes

What's PCH?? I'm only drigging the pop up from campground to campground. We'll set up "base camp" for a while and go from there. I don't think I'll have enough time for the Tetons, I gave them up to spend a week driving the OR coast on the way home. Looking for a nice mix of mountains, rain forest, and beach - ya know? I think I'm closing in on a tentative itinerary. :thumbsup2

Hey Chrissie - for two photos, do you fold?? (Count me in!)

Chrissie on the TOAL... :laundy:
.

PCH - Pacific Coast Highway. Route 101 in Washington and Oregon, Route 1 in California. It runs roughly parallel to I-5, but along (you may have guessed) the coast. It would be a fun way home-ish for you, but maybe not dragging a pop-up. If you plan to drive the OR coast, you will probably be on it - just keep going south until you have to cut across to get inland to home.

I know how to get rid of your infestation. Tom....... there is one even with your name on it and Rogers too!!
One of these days I will get even for not getting a pirate!!!:rotfl2: :rotfl2:

This is Tom31b (not my mentor Tom) and Roger!!!! I can't do photoshop but you must both be infamous!!!

Do you both have this feeling?:confused3 :confused3

I have heard of that too!!! I hate to think about it because we do get fruit from Mexico in the states too!!:headache:

Not only that, but the area of Mexico that we adopted Angelina from had raw sewage running right down the side of the street, we had to step over it many times to get to the missionary's home where we were staying.....:faint:

Anyways, I wanna know WHO started with the BUGS in this forum? I've only got ONE on my siggy... this bug crept on from another seedy DIS thread I was reading the other day... <wink> And it seems Toms' got a bug INFESTATION going in his prior posting... maybe it's a 2008 BUG...?

I don't know, but I keep hitting my screen trying to get rid of them.........:rotfl2:

Esteri,
(Right now it's looking something like: Yellowstone, Glacier, The Woods (the family property in the WA Cascades), Mt Rainier (maybe St Helens?), the Olympic Penincula, and the OR coast on the way home. I'm on maps right now to see how doable that all is. It's looking like it might be possible...)
.

From someone who is familiar with the Olympic Peninsula, Hurricane Ridge is a very beautiful place to hike, then you can continue to the Hoh rainforest if you like. My kids just LOVE to hike. (One whined all the way up and the other whined all the way down). It is very pretty though, and from the top you can see to Vancouver Island on a clear day. You aren't far from the Washington coast from there. Sounds like a fun trip! Enjoy your planning. I can even recommend some restaurants along the way if you like.:)
(sorry, I think I finally figured out how to do the quote thing. I'll get it right yet!

About 10yrs ago dh and I (with the 3 kids we had at the time) drove from LA to SF along the PCH. It was lots of fun. We stayed the night in Solvang.

Now I know you need to visit so that Elvis can teach you! :rotfl: :rotfl: He is becoming quite the master....... One of his favorites was when he made it look like a bug was crawling out of Katherine's nose..........

For those that don't my family --- Elvis (9ds), Katherine (24dd)

Timing dinner just right at Narcoosses just in time to catch the fireworks over Cindarella Castle.

I've got a ressie for CA Grill during the Princess & Pirate party fireworks. (And on our last night) Is that good?

You mean it's got a NAME??? And here I've been calling it "101" my entire life. :headache:

Yes, that's how we're coming home. Taking the last week to do it too.

I dunno - I thought that was an awesome job at quoting. :thumbsup2 I live to be quoted...

Thanks - I'll be looking for your advice. Grew up in Seattle - but we spent all our ourdoor time in the Cascades, I've only really been the the Olympic Peninsula once or twice. It's the part of the trip I'm looking forward to most.

Have to stick to the National Forests though - cause of the dog. :sad2:

Classic! Can we see it? Huh? huh? Pretty please?

Hi everyone! We are back from vacation and now that it is 2008 it is truly time to start planning mode for our TOAL!

Once we get some prices, we will report back, and perhaps Wendy can keep track of who is signing up . . .

No problem. So far, the interested parties are:

Dahuffy Debi 2 Hojo's
Msaseifert Sue 4 Hojo's
Paulasillars Paula 3 DL Hotel
Smeecanada Wendy 4 BW Park Place

So, if anyone else is possibly interested in boarding the Pirate Bus to the Port, PM me. You are under no committment to take the bus at this point and time, we just need some rough numbers to work with for figuring out cost.

Esteri

That time to go to California Grille is great! The P&P fireworks are spectacular! What a great view! You will definately enjoy the meal too!

I wish I was eating there tonight instead of going to work.

Hi Chrissie!

Hi Chrissie!

Hi Peter!

I agree with you! Loved our meal there!

By the way your costume looks amazing!
When are you heading to California-for the TOAL?

Chrissie

So I got our year-end investment statements today. Good thing we weren't counting on any of that $$ for TOAL - we'd be-booking a row boat!

About 10yrs ago dh and I (with the 3 kids we had at the time) drove from LA to SF along the PCH. It was lots of fun. We stayed the night in Solvang.

We drove chunks of it on our Kodiak, AK to San Diego move. No kids, just the dog and a tent. It was great fun...until we got between LA and San Diego on the Friday of 4th of July weekend - not a hotel, campground, or place to pitch a tent available in all of SoCal. We had to sleep in the car one night. We passed an sign for the Del Mar Polo Grounds and decided if we were going to spend the night in the car we would do it in style!

"Ahh yes, remember the night we spent at the Del Mar Polo Grounds..."

This was the same trip we pitched our tent at a campground in Bellingham, WA only to discover AFTER we went to bed that the site was about 25 yards from train tracks! Not much sleeping happened that night.

You mean it's got a NAME??? And here I've been calling it "101" my entire life. :headache:

Yes, that's how we're coming home. Taking the last week to do it too.

Maybe calling it PCH is a SoCal thing.
That sounds like such a great trip!

I live to be quoted...

:hyper:

 Good Morning All

Update: After I shut my laptop down last night, my brother Pete called and said the doc believes Charles trouble yesterday was caused by asthma.

At least it's comforting to have some sort of answer, which is treatable. :grouphug:

I agree, much better than not knowing what caused it:)

My DS14 has allergy induced asthma. He's allergic to some kind of mold in NY. Never has attacks here in VA. We've spent 3 rainy Thanksgivings in the ER (in NY):sad2: He will go years without a problem and we get lax and leave the inhaler at home. We've gotten better about it:rolleyes:
