Since we sail on Sunday, I am sure we will all atleast come in on Friday night or so. If many of us are staying at DL resorts or nearby, I wonder if we could get a bus to go together early to the port. Kinda like a preparty.

FYI - I got an email from Marla at DU assuring me they will give the OBC/SBC if you transfer your reservation to them by EOD 1/31.

OK... this is nice to hear... as this is MY plan!

What kinds of things did she hear from IC?

In some cases the TA handles the IC request too so the client won't get a call the TA will; it really depends on the client. I told my TA I wanted to take the call, but it is always possible that IC calls the TA.

In reality, as long as someone gets called I am all right with that. In this case I believe the TA meant that some had received calls that she knew of.

Hi Tina. I understand your dilemma. Our son will be starting high school and by going on the EB repo, he will miss orientation and the first few days of school. We debated long and hard, but feel that scholastically and socially he will be fine. I am going to make sure we have his schedule before we leave and that he knows his way around the school. If possible, I will make contact with each of his teachers and let them know that he will miss the first three days and I will certainly make sure that school leadership is aware of it. I am just going to make sure that I have it as well planned out for him as I possibly can.

Ultimately we view this as a very special opportunity that is worth the effort involved.

Chuck at AST opened his Cat. 3 suite and had an open house for us on the August 2006 cruise, he is a Class Act, very friendly and great to chat with!!!!!

Last time they only released one of the repos at 8 am. They didn't book the other until 1 pm or so.

Would it be rude if I asked if I could be put on hold then ?

Sound great to me. We will most likely fly in Friday, would like to see about getting a room at the DL Hotel for my family.

I just got off the phone with a very nice gentleman from All Seasons and got a lot of reassurance for those of us who decided to try to book on our own. According to him, TAs do have their own number to call, but they get busy lines also as there are many TAs booking multiple cruises (obviously). When they get a hold of someone, they have to book each cruise seperately (one at a time) and can not just say "I need X amount of Cat 5, X amount of Cat 10" etc then fill in the blanks. Beings I have not been put on a TA's waitlist yet, I would be at the bottom of their list so I would be the last person they booked for (theoretically). Of course by this time the price could have easily risen, etc, etc. He mentioned one TA in their office being on the phone for about 6 hours with a CM who took multiple breaks during their call (lunch, etc).

We talked about the rising prices and he likened it to the stock market at opening bell. Of course he did mention that a big problem last time was people making multiple requests through different TAs.

Hope this is a reassurance to anyone calling on their own. If you already have a ressie number that you are switching from it will make the process much faster and easier.

This is precisely what we are assuming - which is why we are gonna try our hand at doing it early Wed. I hope we all do well in getting through before we wear our fingertips out hitting the redial button. I gotta make user I don't exhaust the battery on my cordless phone - so I'll be starting on the wired line and using the wireless when I have to go potty or get something to eat - while I wait. You figure it will be that bad on wednesday morning?

Ok I have been trying to get caught up for the last hour and more and more notes keep coming in!!!!!


We just transfered our reservations from DCL to DU andI am working with Regina. I sent a note to her yesterday about the 10% rebooking discount and she said she didn't think that would be available on the reposititioning cruises (wasn't last time) but we would still be able to combine stateroom credits.....

When I talked with a cm at DCL she told me we would be able to get 10 % and OBC. Could it be that DCL offers but not DU ?

Well, I put the pork roast in the crock pot this morning before I started DISing. I just need to peel the potatoes & get them mashed along with fixing up the gravy before 6. DD already ate her superman noodles. IOW pasta roni that had an add tie in this past summer with the superman movie. OY!

Oh yummy We just had steak,corn & salad. My crockpot just broke last month and boy do I miss it.

The logical thing would be to stagger the release of these cruises, say on 31st Reops only, then a couple days latter the Mexican seven days etc, thats pressure of cruises, DCL staff, phones, T/a's website etc.

Actually they should stagger it with with the first being folks on DIS cruise meet threads booking 1st for their sailings, then DIS folks in general the next day, TAs for the general public next then - everyone else.

There's a Monsters Inc ride in California, and it's really fun. They toss in a few surprises.......

When it first came out we were disappointed to her it was in DL. We plan to come out a few days early in 08/08 to visit DL. We have been there once before in 10/02 for 3 days and are looking to go back.

Well...if things work out, we can introduce them at the Magic kids club and they can have a good 'ole time while mommy's and daddy's relax.

I like this idea a lot. We could book a room at a local hotel, resort, something and have a PARTY!!
