Well you can add us to the list if all works out money wise on Wednesday. We have put in the request to switch our Nov 3rd Western to the big EB repositioning cruise. If this works for us there will be 3 of us (myself, DH & DS (14). We are hoping that 2 other families that we have cruised with before will also be able to do the cruise with us for a grand total of 6 adults and 5 boys ages 10-15.

I have tried to read all posts and really enjoyed the summeries on page 1 - Thanks.

Regarding the 31st, I had some bad news the other day

I work for the Government here in the UK and the main trade union for Government employees has announced a one-day strike for Wednesday. There will be thousands on strike all over the country.

I had already decided to take the day off in order to be at home for when the phones open at DCL (1:00 in the afternoon for us in the UK), BUT as I'm a manager with staff working in what will be a difficult environment, I MUST go into work to show support for all the staff who are actually there.

I have reluctantly decided that whatever happens I am leaving at 11:50 to travel home and get to the phones by 1:00. And no, I cannot phone the USA from work as the British taxpayer would have a fit.

I think this a fair compromise !!

David

David, don't these people know you have a 15 day cruise to book for 2008, honestly, the nerve of some people!!! :lmao:

Best of luck to you, I hope you don't run into any traffic jams on the way home Wednesday. ;)

Well...

... cheers for not robbin' the British taxpayor ... and we'll be hoping you can get a fair price for your desired accomidations! So.... I'm assuming you can get OUT of the office by ... say ... 11:40 to give yourself some margin for error and delay in getting home by 1PM? This might spare you from the urge to RACE home unsafely.... :scared1:

This thread is moving too fast - I looked away for a few minutes and another page has gone by.

I'm going to London for two days in February, I'll have to find an Internet cafe to keep up.

You've seen me driving haven't you!!

The roads of Norfolk in the UK just don't lend theirselves to speeding - there aren't any motorways (freeways) in the whole county.

The journey is 24 miles and should only take about 45 minutes - I've got to get out of the city first. Taking everything into account, that's why I'm allowing one hour to get home.

My wife and I have even agreed that due to the volume of callers we'll have to compromise on the category we stay - I want a four but realise that demand may result in us having a six.

We have two phone lines - she'll be on one and I'll be on the other. We will be transferring a reservation so we can't do it on-line.

let's make it really enticing... HERE's some HOT popcorn!

No problem the navisgators for the day is also very good with times at each lock, albeit subject to change, do not know if its been posted before but a very interesting fact, no pumps, at all, all the water for PC comes from the rain, fills the rivers and lakes and then is used by gravity to go through the locks, and then is lost to sea.

You would expect it to have some pumps but no all by controlling natural flow.

Thank you for posting the pics and the navigator's - it has been such fun reading through them.

See my post count is up to 20, to bad that the posts from the live chat can't be included - I'm sure I'd be over 30!
