Thanks all! I appreciate all the information and support. I took a temporary break from my pity party and asked the girls why they did not want to go. Took some digging but oldest DD, Megan did not want to upset her Grandmother and youngest DD, Miranda thought if we went without Bill she would have to ride all the rides Megan and I wanted to since she could not stay by herself. Since she is not the bravest child, this was a deal breaker.
So... Bill said he would go the 4th week in June. I really do not want to go that time of year but that may be my concession.
I really want to go Memorial weekend since the weather will be a little cooler and the Flower and Garden Festival will still be going on. Crowds can't be any worse.
Girls would miss 2 days of school but they have not missed all year so maybe not too big of a deal.
Still working on it.

Glad it worked out:thumbsup2

Hi Everyone,

Well, DH survived his CNN experience! He seems to have enjoyed it. They decided to do a couple extra shots of him in addition to the interview, so he got to walk down Michigan Ave in the snow and the other was walking down a hallway near the studio. He said that doing the interview was odd because it was the kind with a speaker in your ear and staring straight into a camera as you talk. They sent it all through the satelite "live" to the producer's desk in Atlanta. They are going to email him exactly when it will be aired, but the "show" it was for is called "Your $$$$$".

Of course, walking down Michigan Avenue with a camera on him sort of made him the center of attention! I think he was a little embarassed!

:goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes I'm going to really try to watch:goodvibes

In my DS's elementary school the fifth graders do a big musical as their final goodbye to elementary school & it's always a big deal. When my DD was in fifth grade she got chorus in the Music Man (which basically means no part, she is just put in the background) so she came home sobbing. :sad1:

Fast forward 3 years & now the fifth grade play is The Sound of Music & DS got the part of Rolf! :yay: He was afraid his sister would be upset, but she was very happy for him. Should be an exciting but stressful few months since the play is in March & they will be doing a lot of rehearsals.

Rain drops on roses and whiskers on kittens...

I love this musical:cloud9:

I realized as soon as I posted that question I just identified myself as "Least likely to be picked on a team" :rotfl2:
I would like to but I will be happy to be on reserve in case someone who actually knows how to play wants to jump in. (If it was me, I would of course read up to make sure I knew what I was doing). :)

Coral--Adam (AKA Wheels) is going to be reading up on the book Rugby for Dummies--anyone who wants to borrow it on the cruise--is welcome:)

I know I'm pretty late, but I wanted to tell you that DS8 (then 7) and I did WDW "alone" (DH was at a conference and we saw him at the hotel late at night!) last year. I know that 2 kids is probably different from 1 kid, but I was very concerned beforehand on how it would work for us. He and I don't always see eye-to-eye and there are several rides that he loves that I won't even go on! Before the trip we talked about it and decided that we were going to make this a "different" kind of WDW trip. We REALLY slowed down from our normal family pace and made a point of looking at the details (we carried the hidden mickey book with us to help us stick with it!) and trying to do things we don't normally do - we saw more shows, went on attractions we don't always do and spent a big chunk of one day at Blizzard Beach. We had a BLAST and I think we actually get along much better since then! (Not like we didn't love each other, we were just very good at pulling each other's chain ;) )

If you decide to go with just your daughters and you, take some time to talk to each other and see if you can find a compromise that will work for everyone. Maybe if it is an all girls trip, you could find some "girl" things to do that you wouldn't normally do with your DH along! (ie get your nail's done? Bibbity-Bobbity boutique? Princess meal?)

I forgot to mention, when I was on the phone with DCL yesterday, I asked about stuff for our cruise, if any info was out yet. They said no, but they did say that the preplanning kits have arrived and were going out. The Westbound and Mexican Riviera kits would be going out now.

:confused3 Wait! Are you under the impression that we are supposed to know what we are doing?? :confused3

My knowledge of rugby:
scrum, hooker, handbag, beer, and non-family friendly songs.

Oh, and you do not want to be the rugby queen.

I hope to buy a new house soon so I can move everything from this house & clean it! :rotfl2:

Yeah, that doesn't really work either...

Wow! That's cool Congrats to DS. He seems like a kid who would be comfortable on the stage.

Geez, wenches.... "High on the hill was a lonely goat..... " .

Let's start at the very begining...a very good place to start...

of course that always reminds me of -

Doh - the stuff that buys me beer
Ray - they guy I buy beer from
Me - the one who drinks the beer
Fa - a long way to my beer
So - I'll have another beer
La - la-la-la-la-la beer
Ti - no thanks I'm drinking beer
That will bring us back to Doh!

I was Disney Dream Team dreaming to Ken (DH) the other day...... wouldn't it be wonderful if Julie Andrews was the Disney Legend guest on our cruise.....
:cloud9: He figured there is just no way that is going to happen - hey one can dream can't they.....

That would be way cool. Although I think I remember that she can't sing anymore.

I'm under the impression that Joey Fatone has pretty much moved onto the ship. He was on our last cruise & there are always sightings of him posted here. Gosh, I hope we get more than Joey Fatone.

FYI for anyone renting a car at PC:
I just got a notification that the Budget MCO location is closed at 1:00 pm on 9/1.
It will be ok for us since our flight leaves at 2:00 we would have to be there anyway but for some having a late flight may be affected if you need the office.

Coral

Hmmm, that's odd. Thanks for the heads-up. We usually rent from Budget and I don't have plane tickets yet, but we will most likely fly out after 1.

It's going to seem completely real once we start getting info from DCL about the repo . . . somehow I'm already feeling that time is speeding up and this cruise that seemed impossibly far away when first booked will be here in no time . . . that's good, but to imagine that one day it will actually be over is still hard to think about!

I am afraid I better start the training now.:lmao:

Thanks so much! If they would ride the same rides I think it would be perfect (Love the BB Boutique idea :thumbsup2 ) but I can't leave the 8 yo by herslf. The 11 yo would get sick of Goofy's Barnstormer Roller Coaster would get old very quickly (like as soon as we stepped foot in Toontown).
I actually was even considering taking 2 trips and bringing each one w/me separately. Might do that next year.

Fa - a long way to my beer

I've heard. Fa - a long way to the store before...

I did Thrifty got awesome rate for 1 day rental.

The posts about Julie Andrews brings back a happy memory.
A few years ago we walked into MGM and there was a sign saying JA was signing copies of her books during certain hours. I was so excited! We ran back to the Writers Corner and bought her book and signed up for a time to come back.
I came back at "my time" and the line was insanely long. DH thought we would miss our 50's PTD ressies if I stayed so we went to eat. I was so disappointed. When we finished he said why don't you run over and see if they are still signing while I get the girls cleaned up, pay etc. so I ran over.
I told DH to hurry since I wanted the girls to meet JA.
I let every single person go in front of me waiting for them and I finally had to go in to get my book signed. She was so gracious and friendly- and very pretty I might add- even though I was the last of a lot of people. I told her I wished my girls could have met her but maybe another time.
Don't you know as soon as I walked out and the door was shut and locked up comes Bill w/ the girls.:sad2: I had them go to the door and see her. JA had her back to them but a CM told her they were looking and she turned around and smiled and waved at them and they were just in heaven!
She is such a classy lady.

Hi!

Hey Diane..Congrats to your son!

I have a funny Sound of Music story!

A friend of mine said one day...so in the Sound of Music....that Maria she solves problems really well...I said to him "huh?" He says "well you know the song "how do you solve a problem like Maria?",,,he put emphasis on the wrong word and thought Maria was a problem solver...NOT the actually problem!
we still laugh about this!

Chrissie

Thanks & that IS funny!

Well, I will never think of that song quite the same way again . . . was this an actual adult friend, Chrissie???!!:rotfl:

Yes, Diane, congrats on your son's part -- and extra praise to your daughter for being so supportive . . .:lovestruc

Thanks so much! :goodvibes

Rain drops on roses and whiskers on kittens...

I love this musical:cloud9:

OMG I can not stop singing all these songs you guys are posting. :rolleyes1

Per CNN website AIRS: 1 p.m. ET Saturday and 3 p.m. ET Sunday

Thanks for the heads up Tom. I really want to see it!

Yeah, that doesn't really work either...

I was afraid of that! :sad2:

Cool! What usually comes in the preplanning kits, Tracy? We booked our last cruise (1st one) so late last year that most of the stuff from DCL arrived as we're going out the door. Love having all this time to plan properly for the REPO trip. This time around we'll have door magnets and pirate costumes for starters.

Pheeww! (no hand wiping sweating brow smiley available) CNN decided to do the interview downtown. No drastic housecleaning required! :thumbsup2 DH's boss didn't have any trouble with him working from home this morning and a half personnal day this afternoon for this - so it is a go. He is taking the train after lunch and being interviewed this afternoon. Hopefully, they can tell him what time we should watch for it this weekend!

Pamela (pdarrah)

That's wonderful!

Ignore the weird post I posted on the CC Roll Call. I was showing my Dad how to use boards. He sent a huge list of questions to his TA that could have been answered on the boards.

OK Coral, now you got me curious! ;)
