"I'm hoping that's true. If I have to bring up one image when I think of Acapulco, it's the cliff divers."

It must be all those "Love Boat" shows. That is the one thing I told DH I really wanted to do once we found out we where on the ship last week. I'm won't have time to seriously look at excursions until after the holidays. I briefly looked at a non- DCL excursion someone had mentioned on the main DCL forum in Puerto Vallarta - Dolphin watching and snorkeling but it leaves at 10am and won't work for us not going ashore until 9:30 - cutting a little to close for my liking. Bummer, as it's my kind of excursion - I'd rather see the dolphins in the wild. It is similar to the whale watching tours we can go on here.

Did anyone read the DCL newsletter on their website? Something about a new game show, "A Pirate's Life for Me" in Parrot Cay. Apparently, we get an invitation from our server as to which day and time, our table goes.

Anyways, enough babbling for now - need to get ready for work.

me, DH, DS (13) and DD (12) - kids ages at cruise time - hoping to find some pals for them to touch base with before we go. :)

Hi folks

DS is improving. He's got a killer headache and gets naseous if he moves around too much. The headache is managed by tylenol, so it's not too painful. He just starts getting cranky when its time for a new dose. All his neurological tests are fine though.

They are concerned about the cracked bones causing fluid to leak. Hasn't happened so far, but they are keeping a close eye on him. Also, the fracture is very near his ear and they can see some bruising inside the ear. They are going to test in the next few days to see if he suffered any additional hearing loss. Good thing is we just had a follow up hearing test last week, so they have up to date results to compare too.

He's sleeping most of the time. Eating a little. And walked around his room today. Still another day or 2 in the hospital at least.

Monica,

It's good to hear he's doing well. Thanks for the up date. :)

Well...

... just checking in briefly here. We're back! Been back in fact since monday nite but it's been hectic with all manner of little pesky errands that need attention. So my time has been very limited for catching up here. But I have noticed that a half dozen plus pages go up every 12 hours or so - and that's leaving me in a difficult position to catch up!

At any rate - Happy birthday and happy anniversery to everyone we've missed these past 2 weeks or so. And prayers and hopes for all who could have used some in the past 2-3 weeks. I hope things have otherwise been at least managable for everyone lately.

So, our trip was a nice one. Painfully inexpensive for a cruising trip. I took about 1400-1500 pictures ... so my production was pretty low.

I'm sleepy tired - so am turning in now. I'll try to get pictures and links up soon - but I suspect we won't get to it until maybe next monday or tuesday.

Oh well... it IS nice to be home again!

Arrrgh!

Welcome back Crash! Missed your posts.:)

Happy Friday. I just found this thread and thought I would introduce myself and say hi.

My name is Heidi and my fiance is Chris. This cruise will be our Honeymoon .

Welcome aboard Heidi and Chris. :cool1: Congrats on your upcoming wedding - the cruise will be a nice way of celebrating your new life together. princess: I'm still playing ketchup myself.

Sailing with me is DH, DS (13), and DD (12) - after xmas I'll figure out how to make a proper tag line.:rotfl:

Ketchup done!

I guess it's not too wierd listening to POTC 1 and folding 6 loads of laundry.

Have a nice day all.

Working a late shift tonight so won't be in chat.

Have fun!:)

Cheryl,

.... thank you so kindly for such a nice welcome home! So - in return may I offer an opinion as to how Tom31B ripped and chopped my pie chart image?

All ya do (probably) is right click on the image and save to your computer - probably under a appropriate "misc" folder for this sort of mischief. Then open a garden variety paint program - and open again on the file you just ripped. Now you can use the paint tools to manipulate the image to your hearts' content... or manipulate it was your imagination dictates.

I would assume you might use the dropper to copy the field color of the "box" where you're gonna change the words... then draw a new box precisely OVER the existing box and verbage. Then use the dropper to match the color of lettering by sampling the other boxes' word color. Now use the text insertion tool to position the new words to add. You might want to ensure your text tool bar is open so you can run through the various fonts, sizes and so forth to obtain a good match on letter style, size and fit.

In the same manner you could cut and paste images together to put one persons' face over another image too. But THAT sort of thing can take considerable time to pull off - depending on your production standards and experience.

Once that's all done and you have a finished image - save as - under a new file name. This preserves a copy of the old file in case you want to reuse it or start over on another project. Make certain you are saving it as a JPEG image. This should ensure you can upload it to any host. I use dotphoto - however ... I PAY to use dotphoto as I also use dotphoto to SELL my images for a profit. All sites do not offer this ability. However, I think Tom31 used photobucket to host the most recent pie chart hack. You might want to open a free account there - aqs I assume they have free accounts.

Now once the image is loaded to a host - take a look at the image from the host. Enlarge it to the larger size and right click on the image to obtain the URL. Copy that and - position and paste it on the DIS where you want it. In Tom31s' case he was careful to post his doctored image to MY QUOTED POSTING to make it appear as if "I" had posted that image. Alas, the URL of his image is a dead give-away that it is not (in fact) the same image. <wink>

At any rate... that's ONE way of doing it. In practice the process is pretty fluid and quick. If you look at the time between the original posting and his posting (about 35 minutes) then you can imagine how quickly this can be done. in all likelihood Tom31 probably did it in about 10 minutes or less if he was efficient about it. However, it wold not surprise me if it took 15 or 20 minutes to hack.

So, Cheryl.... there ya have it. Now you should be ready to rip and hack images to YOUR specific needs. I might suggest you be judicious in selecting images that are EASY to manipulate. Practice will tell you a little more of what is easy and complicated to hack.

OK.... back to a few more minutes of ketchup now before I turn in ....

So Cheryl, this is a simple explanation, right? :lmao: :lmao:

Tom, that is great news that they made arrests. You know what's up with people, how could you just drive off?

Everyone have a great Friday.:goodvibes

Probably too partied out to consider the consequences :confused3

Happy Friday. I just found this thread and thought I would introduce myself and say hi.

My name is Heidi and my fiance is Chris. This cruise will be our Honeymoon and I am so excited to be able to go on a 15 day DCL cruise for our Honeymoon. My parents took the last East Repo cruise and loved it, so now I get the chance to go on it. This cruise will be my 7th DCL cruise, and Chris's 3rd DCL cruise.

This thread is a little overwhelming, but I hope to keep up with it and get to know everyone and figure out everything planned.

:welcome: Don't even try to ketchup! Hope to see the newbies in Chat tonight. We usually gather in room 2 around 9ish.

Got half of my chores done for today.Still need to change the oil in the car (ugh, hate waiting) and get new glasses before the end of the year. Last night we at the last minute decided to go to Bucca for dinner since it was such an exhausting day forboth of us. Surprise they had the kitchen table available and we had a great time with the waitstaff etc............ We were watching how many of the same family plates went out to a party( enough to feed an army) and the waiter told us they apparently didn't know what to expect sizewise and he was sure they overordered. Boy they must've had a few doggie bags :rotfl2:

Gotta run..........

An' I'm to be freshly declared as .....

InnocentPoster.jpg

So now, If you'll excuse me I gotta glance back through a few 1000 postings to catch up on,

Did anyone else find it odd? The amount of time Crash spent protesting his innocence BEFORE knowing what it was he was supposedly innocent of?

this is what im thinking of doing on the excursions

cabo san lucas- harbor cruise and scenic drive

puerta vallaitra- sierra madre hiking tour

acapulca- highlights, shopping and cliff divers

cartegena- best of cartegena

aruba- best of aruba island tour

Call me lost, but I can't find the darned descriptions on the website. :headache: Pththhtt.

I have been spending a lot of time researching different excursions. This is what I have been planning as gifts this year!

COOL idea! Santa will be giving this cruise. DS6 (then 5) insisted on giving Santa his cabin key from the Disney Magic last year so that Santa could go on the Disney Magic. Santa took it and left a thank you note. (Convincing DS10 - then 9 - that there really IS a Santa Claus.) This year, DS6 will receive this cruise in return.

OK, maybe I've been hanging out with a 5th grade boy too much. But I found this REALLY funny. :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

My laptop is fixed. YYYAAAAAAYYYYY!!!

More importantly, my marriage survived sharing a computer!

DH is very particular about his desk and his computer and I tend to leave things in my wake.

Yet one more thing we have in common. We've had to find a middle ground where the whole roomate part of the marriage works. The funny thing is DS10 is definitely my son. And DS6 is definitely DH's. (He spends his time in the grocery story line resorting the candy bars.)

Congratulations on being up and running again!

Ya think???
I hope it will be at least a bit better, since it will only be people on our cruise rushing to the computer at the same time, not everyoe who wants to cruise all summer. We've never done a DCL excursion. We tend to venture out on our own. I don't particularly enjoy:

1. gather in designated place at designated time.
2. wait
3. shuffle to bus/boat
4. wait
5. get to destination
6. wait
7. shuffle to staging area
8. wait

You get the picture. I'm sure we'll do an excursion or two this time, I'm just not sure what. I really want to zipline, but DH and the boys don't.

Come with us!

I agree on finding your own way in port. I think it's more fun that way. Our last cruise we chartered a boat just for us for a combo snorkle / dive. (4 snorklers / 3 divers) It was the highlight of the trip! The boys thought it was great fun to snorkle in our bubbles.

Happy Friday. I just found this thread and thought I would introduce myself and say hi.

WELCOME Heidi and Chris. Don't worry about catching up - just jump in - the water's fine.

So where do I need to go to chat tonight? I am assuming it is 9ish, Eastern time, correct?

9 Shopping Days left till Christmas

What's Captain Hook's favorite store?

The Secondhand Shop!

Be sure to do your shopping there!

So where do I need to go to chat tonight? I am assuming it is 9ish, Eastern time, correct?

Scroll all the way to the top. See the red menu bar? Second from the left is a menu item called Chat. That's what I use. We usually meet in Room 2, not the room dedicated to Cruise meets. (Habit) Yes, at 9pm Eastern.

Once you click on Chat you sometimes have to log in again. I know that some folks had trouble getting in because their DIS ids had a space, or a special character, or something. I'm not certain what the problem was. I expect they'll chime in with more advice.

That's dinnertime our time. Won't be able to today but will try in the future. Just how do we do it - for future reference :confused3

See my post above. You'll find that there's usually someone in chat until about 10pm Pacific. So pop in when it's convenient. There's a good sized west coast contingent.

COOL idea! Love it - would love to see the look on his face on XMAS morning - you'll need to report back.

Sounds like our DH's are alike. Mine spends his time sorting video games at EB Games or whereever. DD is starting to follow suit.

Todd,

By the way I decided to give all the leather work on Nastassja's costume (ES AWE) a go myself. I bought 20 square feet of leather (half a cow) last week. It's very intricate. I just finished making my own patterns for the shoulder armor and belt with armor. Leather craft is cool. Never did it before but I feel crafty. We'll see what happens. I might be calling Toby if things don't work out.:)

This all sounds well and good but where are the bloody pictures man !!!!:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: Toby could probably use the work about now ...LOL ...I wanna see Pictures otherwise we have to call BS ....:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:
