Merry Christmas to everyone, and stay healthy until the Doctor Calls, beware Santa's with weapons, hidden in a brass band

Harley's first visit with Santa went pretty good today. I had to hold onto him or he would have bowled "her" over.

I thought with all of the cancellations, I might have a cabin assignment. I checked and it still says Cat 7 GTY. At least if things are opening up, we should definitely get on the ship. For a while there I was worried.

It might be worth giving DCL or a TA a prompt to ask?

Please not everyone on the thread do it at the same time!

I'm not going to press for the 7 as there are so few. If I lie low, it's possible I could get a Cat 6 (or even 5) as there are so many of them. No complaints if that happens!

If anyone is waitlisted for main dinning you may want to check your reservation. We were on the waitlist and I checked this week when rooms became avaliable and Disney did change our dining.

If its not changed, call your TA or DCL and they should change it.

Yes Captain, shiver me timbers, hopefully no one else will walk the plank!

PS have you noticed all these people leaving, have gone since Captain Crash hasn't been around-connection?

He did have like 35 rooms.....:confused3

You forgot the rule about the mandatory french toast. No milk, bread or eggs anywhere in a 25 mile radius.

Yes, forgot that one. When was the last time it snowed so much that you weren't able to get milk, bread or eggs for any period of time. All those supply trucks unable to get through that 1" of snow. :confused3

Yeah, that's what I was hoping for too:thumbsup2

It looks like we will be joining you!!!:yay: :yay: I called and booked one of the openings last night and I still can't believe it. I mean, it's been booked for so long I hadn't even given the Panama trip a serious thought. If it hadn't been for the DIS boards, I would never have known.:thumbsup2

This will be our 5th trip on the Magic. It's me, DH, DD-13 (turning 14 Sept. 6) and DS-10 (turning 11 Sept. 9) I haven't had a chance to, and realistically doubt I will, read all of the past pages. So, are there any other young teens going?

I look forward to getting to know all of you!

Hey, yes my DS turns 14 next week and my DD turns 11 in May.

Welcome aboard:yay:

Our family (DH, DS (13), DD (12) and me) will be joining you all as well :cool1: :cool1: . Trish our wonderful travel agent has been sitting on the computer and checking every 15 minutes or so today :surfweb: and snagged us a CAT8. I can't believe we've actually managed to get on the ship    . It will be our second cruise - we did a 4day on the Wonder in AUG07. Looking forward to getting caught up on all that has been written on this thread.

Welcome aboard:cheer2:
I'm always trying to get caught up. Hasn't happened yet:confused3 ;)

Found this on the Community Board and LOVE it

Black and White
(Under age 40? You won't understand.)

You could hardly see for all the snow,
Spread the rabbit ears as far as they go.
Pull a chair up to the TV set,
"Good Night, David. Good Night, Chet."

My Mom used to cut chicken, chop eggs and spread mayo on the same cutting board with the same knife and no bleach, but we didn't seem to get food poisoning.

My Mom used to defrost hamburger on the counter AND I used to eat it raw sometimes, too. Our school sandwiches were wrapped in wax paper in a brown paper bag, not in ice-pack coolers, but I can't remember getting e.coli.

Almost all of us would have rather gone swimming in the lake instead of a pristine pool (talk about boring), no beach closures then.

The term cell phone would have conjured up a phone in a jail cell, and a pager was the school PA system.

We all took gym, not PE ... and risked permanent injury with a pair of high top Ked's (only worn in gym) instead of having cross-training athletic shoes with air cushion soles and built in light reflectors. I can't recall any injuries but they must have happened because they tell us how much safer we are now.

Flunking gym was not an option . even for stupid kids! I guess PE must be much harder than gym.

Speaking of school, we all said prayers and sang the national anthem, and staying in detention after school caught all sorts of negative attention.

We must have had horribly damaged psyches. What an archaic health system we had then. Remember school nurses? Ours wore a hat and everything.

I thought that I was supposed to accomplish something before I was allowed to be proud of myself.

I just can't recall how bored we were without computers, Play Station, Nintendo, X-box or 270 digital TV cable stations.

Oh yeah ... and where was the Benadryl and sterilization kit when I got that bee sting? I could have been killed!

We played 'king of the hill' on piles of gravel left on vacant construction sites, and when we got hurt, Mom pulled out the 48-cent bottle of Mercurochrome (kids liked it better because it didn't sting like iodine did) and then we got our butt spanked.

Now it's a trip to the emergency room, followed by a 10-day dose of a $49 bottle of antibiotics, and then Mom calls the attorney to sue the contractor for leaving a horribly vicious pile of gravel where it was such a threat.

We didn't act up at the neighbor's house either because if we did, we got our butt spanked there and then we got butt spanked again when we got home.

I recall Donny Reynolds from next door coming over and doing his tricks on the front stoop, just before he fell off. Little did his Mom know that she could have owned our house. Instead, she picked him up and swatted him for being such a goof. It was a neighborhood run amuck.

To top it off, not a single person I knew had ever been told that they were from a dysfunctional family. How could we possibly have known that?

We needed to get into group therapy and anger management classes? We were obviously so duped by so many societal ills that we didn't even notice that the entire country wasn't taking Prozac! How did we ever survive?

LOVE TO ALL OF US WHO SHARED THIS ERA, AND TO ALL WHO DIDN'T; SORRY FOR WHAT YOU MISSED. I WOULDN'T TRADE IT FOR ANYTHING.

This certainly brought back some memories:lmao:
They were building a new house on a vacant lot near our school bus stop and the boys use to race each other around the foundation (over mounds of gravel and dirt- making sure not to fall into the basement).
We also walked 2 blocks, by ourselves, to the bus stop from the time we were 5.
Boy have times changed:rotfl:

My goodness, I walked to and from school from about 3rd grade, and it was almost a mile each way......what was my mom thinking??

Oh, and forget bottled water, we drank from the garden hose in the summer.

^^^ Um, Andrew, did you do something bad here????

Now seven questions to ask you.

:rolleyes1
1/ What is your favorite Smiles

pirate: of course

2/ What was your favorite post by Captain Crash.

Probably the one I didn't get to see, just because it disproves his innocece.

3/ What was your favorite Question by CC

???? How sad is this? I can't even remember a specific question right now.

4/ When was your first kiss

1st grade - we had to freeze when the bell rang and this boy kissed my cheek right as the bell was ringing, he had to stay that way LOL.

5/ What have you nicked from the Disney Magic

Pirate night menu and Prince/Princess night menu, but does that count since I asked and my waiter gave it to me?

6/ What have you taken through customs , when you should have declared it?

Not on DCL, but on another Caribbean cruise I bought my first Movado watch. No way I wanted to declare something with that much value. I was tempted to get some Cuban cigars, but didn't want to risk the sniffing dogs finding them.

7/ When does the case come up in court?

Well, it hasn't so far. There's a statute of limitations on this right? I'm not going to be targeted now for answering the previous question am I??

He put you up to this didn't he???
