You don't live too far from my FIL in Highland Village. DFW is one busy airport!!

Yea! They just called to say my laptop was ready. So I will have it for our trip.

Funny. Yeah- Highland Village is pretty much right across the street.
There is an advantage of using DFW so much is other airports are so intimidating.

Welcome to the Northeast. Perhaps we should have given you the rules:

Flurries = everyone forgets how to drive

Tom, you forget the fact that DC area drivers don't know how to drive in the first place so flurries got nothing on us.....

You've seen the MD drivers thread on the community boards from yesterday, right? :rolleyes1

Missed that one.

DC drivers, they are the ones who think the sidewalk is an extra lane?

dear pbger , :flower3: ...it's a pleasure & honor to share the marshall's

story. i don't know if the coach in the pic. is the same friend but

iam hoping, so it will even make it a more special...for him. the extra
work..is no problem..i just want to make sure you have all the stories
they wrote about.

i was in the locker room after the game...no one wanted to leave. it
was x-mazing , as it was emotional...[however, way beyond my
understandings @ the time.] what it did for me, was defined my expectations
of a sport..more than scoring points. now looking back, i feel like that one
single game...helped the whole community to recover from a terrible lost.

* that, & my high school teammates, taking up a collection to replaced
my stolen varsity jacket. littel things..can make the most wonderful
memories...:cheer2:

....i think its supportative by how close professional football 's roots are.
the current detroit lions....orginated from the portsmouth spartans.
[ where the first professional night game was played- against greenbay
packers.]....& the home of branch rickey.

..its so funny, things we discover while pirating on this site....who da
though..."nutmeg racing"...had dale e. ..as it driver?

..well better get cracking! [ we have less than 3 weeks before flying out].

* i 'll leave the "crashing" to our registered expert, mr. C.

..snow ? what's that.....:confused3 , something that can only be found
in wonderland?

G'mornin' pirate:s

Well we've either had armageddon or the DC area got an inch of snow yesterday. This is insane. We have a 2 hour school delay over a bit of slush.

"But M., where have you been?"
My laptop is in the shop. The little internal peice where the power cord actualy powers the thing is broken. For some reason it is going to take 2 weeks to fix. TWO WEEKS!!! Without my laptop. UGH! I've been using DH's desktop when I can, but he's working on is final for the grad class he's taking & I don't like being stuck in the den.

Plus, I've been working on Christmas projects whenever I can get my hands on the computer. We send the happy Christmas letter that people love/hate. I love that it makes me sit down once and year a summarize the stuff we did. My folks always wrote one, so I have copies of every Christmas letter since I was 3 months old. It's pretty cool. AND I make calendars for the grandparents - they turned out really cool ifIdosaysomyself. AND I made DH a t-shirt to wear while he runs the WDW marathon. Here's my favorite page - obviously October. I had to get creative since both of their costumes included masks this year:
octoberlayout-1.jpg

My projects are here if anyone is curious: http://s37.photobucket.com/albums/e78/sk8ingmom/Christmas 2007/project/

So, looks like I have a few hours for ketchup...

That looks great M! Very creative way to get the boys with and without the masks and put it all together.

Good morning all! It's been busy around here. Last night was dd's choir Christmas concert. It was way bigger than that other concert that was in town, that Hannah Montana girl! I asked dd if she was sad we couldn't go and she said, "Why would you want to go there when you can see me in my own concert?" Point well taken!:goodvibes

I love her reply! I'm sure you had a great time.

Been a rough morning walking around today reading meters. Slipped and nearly fell about 10 times........

On any given day I would have had 95-100 meters read by lunchtime, today I was only able to get 60 meters read. The ICY sidewalks and steps have been slowing me down, and winter has only started..........

Home now for lunch, and have the heating pad across my knees.......:goodvibes

Be careful Andy.

Woke up this morning and the patio door was frozen shut and the dog was doing the potty prance. Went outside, had to put ice melt down on the sidewalk. Car doors frozen shut. Had to scrape the windows. Got pelted by the salt truck while taking the kids to school. Slid pulling back into the driveway.

Is it almost spring yet?

Missed that one.

DC drivers, they are the ones who think the sidewalk is an extra lane?

Then we must have a lot of DC drivers in Philly, because I see people driving on the sidewalks all the time.

Andy, please be careful out there.:flower3:

Another thing checked off on TOAL!
I have been checking Kayak every day, usually a couple times a day for airfare for this trip.
A month or so I got a great deal on the MCO-DFW (back home) piece- Non-stop for $126.00. I have been checking every day for at least as long for DFW-LAX(getting to ship). It absolutely would not go below $200.00. Then finally last couple of weeks went to $199.00 but Southwest would have been about $50.00 cheaper. Problem w/ SW is because of Wright Amendment we would have had to make a stop somewhere on the way- no direct flights allowed except to neighboring states and DFW is very close to my house and SW's Love Field pretty far away.
Well, I checked again today and American had lots on non-stops for $144.00!!! Needless to say, we jumped on it. We arrive at LAX around 3:00 and will take Super Shuttle to San Pedro Doubletree. Relaxing evening before TOAL and I saved almost $1000.00 doing it myself.
So glad to get that thing from over my head.

So far I have flight from DFW-LAX.
Shuttle from LAX to San Pedro
Hotel in San Pedro (free shuttle to port)
Cruise
Van reserved at PC for trip to MCO
Air from MCO to DFW.

What am I missing?
Oh yeah, we are driving our Yukon XL to airport so will need airprt parking to do.

Happy Birthday and Happy Anniversary to all celebrating!

:thumbsup2 Great deal on your airfare:goodvibes

pirate:ing all kinds of special wishes

Happy Birthday/Anniversary!

Best wishes to all. I still haven't figured out how to post pictures so I have to pirate: them.

We have another snow advisory here. Looks like the drive in tomorrow might be dicey. I may just work from home - more time to surf the boards without anyone looking over my shoulder. :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Have to laugh at the snow comment! :rotfl2: Get used to it girl. I always get a charge outta the people here in OK when they see a snowflake. They panic :scared1: I'm from MN so I've seen a bit of the white stuff myself. When they get like 5" they close the schools!!!

 Hey Laura! Long time no see. I hope the puppy is doing OK.

I keep the money too! I figure it will help the kids remember to check their pockets before the clothes go in the basket.

Hey M!

Sadly - we had to spay our Isis - she got a bacterial infection - although not a major one - she was crying and whining like she was in pain. What with her having false pregnancies each time she went into heat and the possible change of contracting an infection and dying - we decided to do the deed and had her spayed. She went in on Tuesday and was out on Wed. Meanwhile this dog now conned everyone in the family to pet her stomach for 6 hrs straight yesterday. At the rate she is conning everyone - she'll be above me in the pecking order. :rotfl:

We have blockaded the stairs and I had to yell at her yesterday for jumping on the couch - doesn't the dang dog realize she's had her insides all ripped up? Ah well, what do I know - I think I was petting her for 15 minutes before I realized she had been shaved. So who's worse?

Today she spent the day on the living room floor wrapped up in one of those C pillos for pregos? She layed right in the middle of it with her tummy upside for petting. The vet warned us she may do this and everyone here is playing right into her symphathies.

Meanwhile the white one is just wondering why all of a sudden she's going on car rides so much. We have had to distract her away from Isis. She's not complaining though.

How's yours? Still a bit rambunctious? Their sweet tho - wouldn't give them up for a heartbeat!

And in response to the kids learning to clean their pockets? I offer to take the kids out for lunch and something special - that is how they learn who lost money. They still haven't learned - I just get the headshake saying that's cold mom. To which I :rotfl2: and say - come-on - I'm buying. :lmao:
