Well we've either had armageddon or the DC area got an inch of snow yesterday. This is insane. We have a 2 hour school delay over a bit of slush.

"But M., where have you been?"
My laptop is in the shop. The little internal peice where the power cord actualy powers the thing is broken. For some reason it is going to take 2 weeks to fix. TWO WEEKS!!! Without my laptop. UGH! I've been using DH's desktop when I can, but he's working on is final for the grad class he's taking & I don't like being stuck in the den.

Plus, I've been working on Christmas projects whenever I can get my hands on the computer. We send the happy Christmas letter that people love/hate. I love that it makes me sit down once and year a summarize the stuff we did. My folks always wrote one, so I have copies of every Christmas letter since I was 3 months old. It's pretty cool. AND I make calendars for the grandparents - they turned out really cool ifIdosaysomyself. AND I made DH a t-shirt to wear while he runs the WDW marathon. Here's my favorite page - obviously October. I had to get creative since both of their costumes included masks this year:

My projects are here if anyone is curious: http://s37.photobucket.com/albums/e78/sk8ingmom/Christmas 2007/project/

So, looks like I have a few hours for ketchup...

M, sorry about your laptop. That page is so cute.:goodvibes

I know what you mean, my laptop is in too. It stopped charging. :confused3 They think it is the power cord, but we are leaving for WDW Sunday and I wanted it to dowload all my pictures and videos. If I'm lucky they may have it by Friday otherwise I am borrowing my DD's laptop.

Your projects look great. I made Christmas cards this year, but didn't get around to doing the Christmas letter.

Well back to work, this is only time I get to check the boards.

Good morning all! It's been busy around here. Last night was dd's choir Christmas concert. It was way bigger than that other concert that was in town, that Hannah Montana girl! I asked dd if she was sad we couldn't go and she said, "Why would you want to go there when you can see me in my own concert?" Point well taken!:goodvibes

We are taking a weekend trip to Cleveland and do some Christmas shopping at Tower City (the old Terminal Tower) that now has a mall in it. They have a very nice Christmas show with the Toy Soldier. We stumbled on it a couple of years ago. It does get you in the Christmas mood. On Sunday we are going to Breakfast with Santa at the Hard Rock Cafe. We did this a few years back and although Santa was traditional, his helper elf had some facial piercings and an earring. He was pretty funky! Staying at a Marriott Residence Inn, it was less than the Courtyard. Hoping that the weather is good. We are leaving after work tomorrow.

I have been enjoying everyones Christmas photos, puts my little tree to shame! I have a small house so I have a slim alpine tree. DD has made a chain and we have the lights. So far we have a few ornaments up and I put up the new ones we got at WDW in Oct. I did get my snowflake lights this year and they are all around the front porch. They really look neat.

M love your designs! I like that Got Magic one. Can I steal it?

Hope evey one has a great day and prayers for those who need them.

Welcome to the Northeast. Perhaps we should have given you the rules:

Flurries = everyone forgets how to drive
1" of snow = All government grinds to halt
6" of snow = All above rules, but all us gas hog SUV drivers can go anywhere (please call a tow truck, my super SUV is stuck)
12" of snow = All above plus, government officially shut down, tickets from law enforcement if you leave your driveway, SUV drivers all stuck at Home Depot or Lowes trying to buy snowblowers (all sold out) or salt (sold out) or shovel (sold out)
24" of snow = All above plus, police towing SUVs stuck, as soon as you have your driveway clear, snowplow will deposit 48" of gunk at end of driveway, several murders over cleared street parking spots, civilization jeopardized

Coating of ice = all SUV drivers "I have 4 wheel drive so I can still do 90." Insurance companies work overtime for SUV claims.

Been a rough morning walking around today reading meters. Slipped and nearly fell about 10 times........

On any given day I would have had 95-100 meters read by lunchtime, today I was only able to get 60 meters read. The ICY sidewalks and steps have been slowing me down, and winter has only started..........

Home now for lunch, and have the heating pad across my knees.......:goodvibes

Hey Andy! Ever thought of getting an ATV? Actually the meter readers here use a small vehicle they take off the truck. The guy justs motors around. :moped:

Seriously be careful.

Sounds nice, but I drive one of the old cop cars, no place to put an ATV on one of them.........:lmao:

I've been with the township nearly 29 years now, and I always get the hand me down cop cars.............

I get a different car every few years.

Another thing checked off on TOAL!
I have been checking Kayak every day, usually a couple times a day for airfare for this trip.
A month or so I got a great deal on the MCO-DFW (back home) piece- Non-stop for $126.00. I have been checking every day for at least as long for DFW-LAX(getting to ship). It absolutely would not go below $200.00. Then finally last couple of weeks went to $199.00 but Southwest would have been about $50.00 cheaper. Problem w/ SW is because of Wright Amendment we would have had to make a stop somewhere on the way- no direct flights allowed except to neighboring states and DFW is very close to my house and SW's Love Field pretty far away.
Well, I checked again today and American had lots on non-stops for $144.00!!! Needless to say, we jumped on it. We arrive at LAX around 3:00 and will take Super Shuttle to San Pedro Doubletree. Relaxing evening before TOAL and I saved almost $1000.00 doing it myself.
So glad to get that thing from over my head.

So far I have flight from DFW-LAX.
Shuttle from LAX to San Pedro
Hotel in San Pedro (free shuttle to port)
Cruise
Van reserved at PC for trip to MCO
Air from MCO to DFW.

What am I missing?
Oh yeah, we are driving our Yukon XL to airport so will need airprt parking to do.

Happy Birthday and Happy Anniversary to all celebrating!

I wish I were that organized. I don't even have everything ready for my WDW trip and I leave Sunday. Well I did get the airline tickets 6 months in advance, but AirTran changed them 4 times. Then DD found out she could go down with us (she was supposed to have an exam on Tuesday) and I had to change her ticket.

You don't live too far from my FIL in Highland Village. DFW is one busy airport!!

Yea! They just called to say my laptop was ready. So I will have it for our trip.

Or maybe they are making it "ordinary" so new itineraries with the new ships out of the box will be extra magical?

Or maybe they are suring up their Caribbean business in anticpation of permanently moving the Magic and Wonder to foreign ports?

I'm sure they have some logic in it.
Hopefully.
