I really should be in bed but I am taking Dante to a halloween contest tomorrow evening and I still need to work on his costume. Don'y worry pictures will follow.

My DD is sick but getting better. Hope all are safe in CA......... Couldn't believe it when I saw the pics on the news. My resume is done and I will be calling tomorrow.

I am getting better everyday but word on the street is they are axious for me to come in.

I love the fact that you can find anything on the internet, including girls having their feet tickled in cuffs, but I digress. According to the "USA Pole Vault Education Initiative" (no kidding, www.pvei.com), it is called the 'vaulting pole' or the 'pole vaulting pole', which distinguishes itself from the 'crossbar' or 'bar', which is that which the pole vaulter vaults over.

Which makes me wonder why the sport is not called "bar vaulting", since you are not vaulting a pole, unless of course Lech Walesa is lying down at the base of the apparatus.

Rare, hard to find, or no longer in attendance characters


I'll start with Mulan. We've only seen her once and that was while eating at Goofy's Kitchen in May 2005

I've seen Mary Poppins and Burt around quite a few times, but this is the only time I can recall them in these outfits. Usually they are in their white.
This was in October 2004.

Don't see Nigel around much but we did in Jan 2005. I can't remember why Aurora was nearby but she was going to move out of the picture then take one separate, but DS wanted them together.

She does not hold court anymore, but in Jan 2006, the White Witch greeted folks. She was great and totally stayed in character. Actually saw a few kids run away from her screaming.

Finally, my favorite extinct characters, Tom and Huck. We had a blast with them in Oct 2004. I think my son spent at least an hour and a half hanging out with these guys. They taught him how to make reed rockets and spit watermelon seeds. They played tag and follow the leader. And when Huck signed DS's autograph book, he put dirt on the page so we could take home some of the island with us. DS didn't really know who they were, but he sure had fun.

"New rules effective from November 6 will prevent customers checking in surfboards, windsurfing boards and sails, hang gliders, kayaks or canoes, pole vaults and javelins. People wishing to take these items will need to contact a separate freight company and arrange for the delivery of these items to their destination. You can still bring scuba tanks and bikes."

Dam I only purchased that Kayak yesterday for the cruise!
