Hello, fellow pirates! I had an early dismissal at school today, so I have extra time this evening for a change!

Well, we were assigned only one of our two GTY 10 cabins: 2101. Anyone know anything about that location? Makes me wonder why they did not assign both of them.

I have been spending a lot of time researching different excursions. This is what I have been planning as gifts this year! I made a certificate for my sister's birthday (and the others will get one, too) for an ecotour on CC. I am planning on putting together a slideshow "gift card" for a fishing trip in Cabo for my husband and boys. I just need to decide if I want to go through DCL or through a private group. I'm going to take my sister horseback riding while they are fishing. Again, I need to decide if I'm going to go private or through the cruise. We are probably going to go private for the zipline in PV, which is what my sister is giving to us for our gift. We definitely want to see the divers in Acapulco, but I am going to see if I can just take a taxi to the restaurant and get drinks rather than take the whole tour. That leaves Cartenaga, which I have been looking at a private tour through some recommendations through cruise critic, and Aruba, where I am hoping to convince my husband to do something as a late celebration for my birthday! Unfortunately, he has it in his mind that he does not want to spend any more money since he thinks this is so expensive! I am looking at this as do it now as it probably won't happen again!

Have a good weekend, pirates! I will be cheering at swim meets again!

You can click the stateroom link on the top of the page. There isn't one for the Magic, but there is on the Wonder. :) What great Christmas gifts:thumbsup2

One of my friends comes from Poland and she and her DH were married during a time when Church weddings were forbidden. They snuck across the border to have a Catholic Church wedding and do celebrate both.

This brings tears to my eyes it is so beautiful!!!
One of my biggest heartaches is that my 24dd decided not marry in the Church. :sad2: She had always planned a Church wedding until the last year or two.... She does know that in our hearts she is not married. But, it is never spoken since we love her dearly.
We did pay for her wedding even though we had told the kids from the time they were young that we would never pay for a wedding if they lived together before (or like in this case had a non-Catholic wedding).

The logic of little children. My DD told her pre K teacher last year she was an Indian. When the teacher asked us and we said we were not, we asked Rebecca why she said she was an Indian and she said...wait for it... "Well, I am not a Pilgrim."

Good logic.

Just a drive by posting to ask for prayers. I've got to get back to the hospital.

Trevoy got hurt playing football today. He fell and hit his head hard on the concrete. He's got a skull fracture and swelling on the brain. So far his neurological tests are all fine. He can respond and move whatever you ask him too. They said it's a small fracture but they are still being very cautious. They've transferred him to a larger hospital 30 minutes away, but they have a pediatric ICU there.

And then when I called my mom to tell her, I found out my aunt probably won't make it through the night. She's my mom's only living sibling. She has a ruptured bowel and is on a ventilator. They can't get her stabilized enough for surgery. She's down in southern CA, about a 9 hour drive. My mom is torn. She doesn't know whether to stick around here for Trevoy or go to see her sis. Although it looks like it may be a funeral she'd go down for.

Definately sending prayers for entire family.

this is what im thinking of doing on the excursions

cabo san lucas- harbor cruise and scenic drive

puerta vallaitra- sierra madre hiking tour

acapulca- highlights, shopping and cliff divers

cartegena- best of cartegena

aruba- best of aruba island tour

Sounds like my list except for the hiking!!!:thumbsup2

Perhaps you should talk to your creator Crashenstein:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

I would be very afraid!!!:lmao: :lmao:

CaptainCrash;

Are you flying over Boston right now? We were only suppose to get 4-8" of snow, but we have about a foot on the ground and it's still coming down like crazy :scratchin :rolleyes1

Mary Ann, would you mind if I sent you all our snow this year???:confused3 :rolleyes1

Ain't that the truth:sad2: Should make for another interesting day, the one thing about that day we were strangers(most of us)--now we know each other.:flower3:

This time it will not be beating out strangers but dear friends.:flower3: :flower3:

Haven't been on in what seems like forever and probably has been. Now that I have my last vacation out of the way I finally have time to start looking forward to this trip and planning our excursions.

The excursions for Holiday gifts sounds like a great idea. I have to look though. Unfortunately, I am not sure what my Mom will be able to go on as she will have an ECV of electric chair. If all else fails...Santa can always give the gift of on-board credit :santa:

I am excited, while we were in WDW 2 weeks ago, my hubby surprised me with booking a few extra days at the World once we get there on the cruise! Looking forward to "meeting" everyone on the board.

Welcome back to the party Desiree!

... as ya kno - you're supposed ta check in with Tom31b fer access to the Pirate Zone. And if ya like ya can even contribute something about yer selves there too.

... at any rate, do jump on in and join the conversations going. It gets hasty at times but that's half the fun! At any rate, tell us a little about yer last vacation as ya alluded to... as it's seems as good a place as any ta restart gettin' aquainted again!

Maybe she'll decide to renew her vows in a Church Wedding:flower3:

I had dreamed of a Church wedding also, but my DH's grandmother was not about to enter a Church. We wound up with an interfaith chapel, a priest and a rabbi. The priest and the rabbi were very good friends and it went very well. We lucked out that it went so smoothly.

Yesterday when the Director (did I already tell y'all that Samantha & Elvis are in another play??) saw my kids walk into the Theater/school he noticed Claire....... There is a *piglet* that is used as a dowery in the play..... He turned to me and said *Do you think she would like to be onstage?* :rotfl2: :rotfl2: * She has now told everyone that she has seen that she will be a piglet. :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

We think this is so appropriate..... Elvis was Wilber last month...now Claire is a piglet! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

For those of you that have never seen my little one.... She is 6 1/2 but, small. Think...maybe the size of a 4yr. She is a perfect *piglet* size. :rotfl: :rotfl:

I am so glad that it worked for you!!! Her DH's family is Jewish but, his mother told me that she didn't care if they married in a church..... I don't know what the reasoning was --- dh and I really try to stay out of our children's *business*. I do know that after him and his brother went through their Bar Mitzvah's the family no long participated in anything religious.
His mother told me that they would do Easter but they really didn't know what people did for Easter. They do Christmas....(but, my atheist MIL & FIL do Christmas!)....

Maryann: So happy to hear that things are looking up with your chemo! Your positive attitude will make all the difference. Prayers to you!

Thanks!

(perfect for those of use too chicken to scuba:goodvibes )

Yep, chickens like me.

Mary Ann, would you mind if I sent you all our snow this year???:confused3 :rolleyes1

Well, being a skier I would normally say, "Send it on over", but since no skiing for me this year I think you should just keep your stinkin **** :rotfl: :rotfl:

I looked up in my Passporter and it looks good. You will be VERY close to the laundry room but hopefully will not hear any noise from it. Above you is the Promenade Lounge. You should be in great shape! :thumbsup2

I am 2583 which is not too far from you. Lots of us 2nd deckers.

Monica...

... I just saw this and I'm terrribly sorry to hear of these developements. May we convey hopes for the best possible recovery with Trevoy. As for your Aunt, I don't know what to say - other than your family will be in our prayers tonite.

Desiree, I'm sort of in the same situation. MY DH takes his ECV on board and off the ship at Nassau and CC.I'm pretty sure we would have trouble navigating the streets at these ports so we have to be careful of which excursions we pick as well. I would love to do some of the excursions he wouldn't be able to do.

This brings tears to my eyes it is so beautiful!!!

Times change and wounds heal. I have many friends in the same situation including my own DD. We got to the point we didn't even communicate anymore, but with the first Grandchild things change and the reasons you were upset seem to be distant memories.

Hey!

Count my family among the deck 2 crowd! However, as yet I expect to have a change in cabin number though. So ... if ya get running little feet being pursued by a few larger pairs of feet ... that would probably be my family. So may I offer my apolagies in advance now?

Again...
I am innocent - seeing as I am proven to be 2500+ miles away.

Welcome back, Crash! Looking forward to hearing your opinion on the Costa line.
!

BOAT%20COSTA.jpg

Well....

... we had a good time - but Costa is definately NOT Disney - nor is it comparable to any other cruise we've taken (in some key areas). Let me begin by saying Alicia and I would be happy to sail with Costa again. However, our expectations lead us NOT to use thier kids clubs, and the dining is definatly different. Alicia calls them European sized portions, I prefer to think of them as TV dinner sized portions. Plus there is something to be deisred in thier dining in general - however, for the money it remains an excellent "value".

Put another way - Costa had the worst run kids club we'd ever encountered. The food was different yet OK in most respects - especially considereing what it cost overall. <wink> In particular - I really liked the design of thier ocean view cabin windows. You could sit on the ledge of the window and just lounge there at length with a couple coushions and enjoy the views!

iD98E7768-825D-4047-963E-88DB124BA321.jpg

Having said that - I must say the Fortuna was the largest ship we've ever journeyed on (104,000 tons). as such we sort of LIKE the ride it offerred. However, there were times when there were simply too many people on the journey.

And among the really good things experienced: We had a textbook competant (good) cabin stewardess, and our dining staff was "OK"... however, the 2 occasions when we had different dining staff - those teams were textbook perfect or on the bounce! So... we know thier dining staff were cabable of being first rate - even though our regualr wait staff was NOT. And otherwise - all of the other staff we encountered arounf the ship were first rate. Not quite eual to Disney in most respects - but good enough to not dissappoint.

And in closing - I would NOT recommend Costa to some folks - depending on what we felt their expectations and preferences were. For us... I think it would be OK if it were of a similar cost for a similar voyage again.

I think the next time we sail we are going to be quite happy paying more for a different line ... as we know we'll get more in some respects for the added outlay. Frankly, I'm still waiting for my youngest one to reach age 6 so we can try a Windjammer barefoot cruise. However, I'm not fully committed to that idea - just that the notion sounds like fun.

OK... if ya have any specific questions - ask away! I'm try to answer or dredge up a few photos to illustrate a reply! ;)
