Greetings everyone. I have not been on the boards for about 5000 posts... no way for me to ketchup... but I hope to read some of the Thanksgiving posts (just want to make sure my Secret Mickey gift arrived).

I did join the chat last night and it was fun (must've been my 1st chat in a month - though I have tried getting onto the chats the past few weeks after midnight eastern time and no one was there).

I do have some excellent news to share.

Got an email from mileyworld.com saying those of use who joined the club to try and get early access to Hannah Montana tix - but failed - would be given a chance to try to get some buy tix today at noon.

and....

I got 4 tix for the Dec 30 show in Newark, NJ.

My kids (who dont yet) will be thrilled!

I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving. And I hope to be less of a stranger in December!

Hi all, I have posted only a few times (so sorry!!) :guilty:

Anyway, I have a question / request.

We are announcing the cruise to our DDs (10, 8, 8) this Christmas. :woohoo: I was wondering if anyone has already told their kids AND if they wanted to write a little email to my DDs. I thought that maybe I could also put this letter from a potential pirate friend (an invitation for emailing and getting to know each other) in with the 'surprise cruise Christmas Present'.

They are rather shy in groups and new to emailing, so I think that having a pirate friend would encourage them to look forward to meeting new people.

Please PM if you are interested.

Oh crud, now that Hazel and Angelina have left to go do some Christmas shopping, I opened the package that arrived earlier. Inside was a scarf that Angelina asked for. I should have read the tag and paid better attention as the scarf is wool, and I'm allergic to wool. My eyes are now itching and starting to burn like crazy. Excuse me while I go take some Benadryl................

Boy, this day is just getting better by the moment..................

That reminds me of when My DM went to visit in England and brought me back a Shetland sweater. Still insists to this day I am not sensitive to wool products.:confused3 After all she is my mom and she knows better than me. I couldn't pawn it off on anyone so I shrunk it deliberately. That was the end of the itchy sweater. Of course she now thought I was a dumb add on top of not knowing what I was sensitive or allergic to.:rotfl2: :rotfl2:

I got a fix for my camera. Need to get a card reader to get the pics on the puter. Seems after being on the phone for over an hour with Sony, they came to the same conclusion I already had. The camera recognized the cable but doesn't get to the computer. Tried DHs puter and still nothing. Sony said to send it for repair at $111. Told them what to do with it. I can get a better model for maybe 30 more but I am still happy with it as is unless I stumble on a bag full of money:lmao:

Beautiful day here today. Wish you all were here:goodvibes

That's great news Sil. The kids will love it. I remember hearing about the day Hannah Montana tickets went on sale. Sounded worse than trying to get a cabin for this cruise!

Wish we were there too! I spent some time outside with DD working on some Christmas decorations and now I can't get warm. Maybe it's time to heat up a bottle of holiday wine.

Deanna, I'll try to get some pictures of the snowflakes posted. We textured our ceiling with joint compound, so I wasn't worried about it pulling anything off.If it did, we'd just add some more compound. The hot glue generally peels right off and we haven't had to fix anything. My advice would be to try one small inconspicuous spot, let it sit overnight, then try to remove it. That way you would know how it comes off and if it leaves any marks on the paint.

Arlene--with sn*w, :cold: sleet, :cold: freezing rain :cold: and rain :umbrella: on the way starting over night, I wish I were there in Florida as well.........

Well, at least I was able to get a nice nap in this afternoon after taking the Benadryl.................

Mike PLEASE take a picture of this. I would love to see how this looks. Can you easily remove them from the ceiling without casuing damage?

Here's a couple pictures of the snowflakes. They look really nice at night with just the Christmas lights lighting the room. We picked them up at the Dollar Store and used fishing line and hot glue to put them up. I burned my fingers quite a few times!

I just wish that's the only sn*w we would be seeing the winter...............:rotfl:

That's sooo pretty! Very ingenious.

Very cool snowflakes Mike. I never would have thought of it. But they would go perfect with my deocorations.

Haven't done any deocrating yet though. Will be going out next weekend to cut a tree. We've been wanting to do this for a while, but I've threatened to cancel Christmas the past 2 years, so when I finally give in to a tree, we just end up picking up one at Home Depot.

Good evening all! I missed chat last night, didn't feel well and crashed and burned at 7! I feel better today.

Wow! Liz,Cheryl & Mike nice pics of your holiday decorating.

We are warm and cozy. It started snowing and we don't have to go anywhere! I got gas today at our neighborhood station for $2.89. So let it snow, let it snow, let it snow!:santa:

Very cold, and very windy night here in the UK, bit of a bad day for DD to have her Birthday couldnt do much, and wet all Sunday!
Night.

Been out for my first Christmas party.

What a neat idea Mike. I have burned myself everytime I have used a glue gun. I might try to do that down at the store if I find some snowflakes.:goodvibes

Hi Mike

Love the snowflakes....and xmas tree.. Do you think the snowflakes will hold up outside.. I will love to hang them on the trees...

If your store has drop ceilings, it's even easier. I stole the idea from my Mom. She just tied a paperclip to the other end of the fishing line, the lifted the ceiling tiles and put the paperclip end up there. The paperclip keeps the line from pulling out.

The snowflakes are plastic, with a little bit of clear glitter-like stuff on them. The glitter will probably come off, but the snowflakes themselves should hold up fine outside.
