Is there another thread for this cruise? :scared1: :scared1:

I can barely keep up with this one.

I think you may be referring to the PC Lite (from May in the Med to August in Panama) thread. Some of us that went on the Mediterranean Cruise this May started a thread so we could keep up. It's probably on page 3 or 4 by now :lmao:

On that thread I believe it's mentioned that I have the Roy, but that is for the 5 night after this cruise.

On one other site the meet thread has a total of 46 postings and 575 visitor hits. Five of the postings are by me - and that's the 2nd highest contribution.

And I know of another site that probably has a meet thread - but I don't go there anymore so I have no idea what their activity levels are. I've googled for that other site but it no longer comes up anywhere on google? Geee....? :confused3

I gotta go now....

Adios til later. No one post anything until I get back! I wanna be in on this evenings' pirate sprint.

HEY SWABBIES!

WHERE ARE YA....

It's time fer MUSTER!!!!

I thought Lisa posted that only ONE thread is allowed on the DIS per sailing. So it might have been closed. If not, then technically it should have been... as it would have posed an unacceptable precedent for ALL sailings and meet threads on the DIS.

:confused3

I gotta "HOT" date with a lawn mower now...

Don't tell my wife!

:cloud9: :thanks: :disrocks: :teeth:

I couldn't find a tooting my own horn smilie, but I wanted you all to know that I got a semi-firm offer from the firm I've been interviewing with. I have to pass one last interview, but we're already talking terms and how to handle the transitions to make it all work

THANK YOU all for the good thoughts & positive energy you sent my way - I'm sure it helped.

That's fantastic! Sending more pixie dust!

All the talk about parents who don't volunteer caused me to start thinking about how HARD it is to get involved in our school. I think that maybe all the PTO, room moms, etc are a single clique or something. Since DS started 1st grade (he is starting 3rd now) I have been offering to help. I have verbally told people who I know are involved that I "would be happy to help - just let me know what you need." I have also signed up on lists to volunteer for stuff. The 1st year, it did no good at all - it seemed like no one even wanted to acknowledge my interest! Last year, I managed to help with a couple classroom parties and a tiny bit with the big annual fundraiser. I really think it has to do with my being a working mom - I do work full time, but since I work for my father in the family business I can be pretty flexible! I think the non-working moms all go out for coffee in the morning after dropping the kids off and know each other and just organize it all among themselves. It's just weird because I know for the other organizations I am involved with that we ALWAYS need volunteers and would jump at any offers of help!

Pamela (pdarrah)

Oh yeah, our school is exactly like this. you have to know someone to be able to participate.

when my DS 10 was in first grade I got a message on my answering machine that went like this: Hi Mrs. --- your turn has come up to participate at school. The Thanksgiving feast is next week. I see here that you work full time. We have lots of moms who would like the opportunity to attend the event, but it is your turn. So, if you can't make it because of work there are lots of moms to take your turn. If I don't hear from you today, I'll give your turn away.:sad2:

So I call the woman back & tell her I wouldn't miss the opportunity. What about work , she asks? Well, they do let us have a few hours off per year.

Now every Thursday I have a standing meeting with my boss and a few others. I called him & said re-schedule the meeting. I'll come early, stay late but I'm going to the first grade TG feast come He-- or high water.

I get to the feast & this same woman comes up to me and says, we have too many moms here, you can leave :scared1: I looked her square in the eye and said tell one of the other moms they can leave. I'm staying.

Wow!

and on another note - the lawns are all cut now - gotta edge em' tomorrow though and we're maybe fixin' to replace on section with sod this weekend. GOtta lot to do in the days to come.

I guess the Mom running the T-G thing did not plan properly - nor did she handle herslef properly in greeting you. Of course, these things must be very popular. As i mentioned - a lot of this is actually sort of new to me since my kids are so young. But I'm getting familiar with what goes on gradually!

AND LOOK... still 134 postings to go til the next sprint is within reach. Hmmm.... maybe it won't come off tonight after all? sigh!

She also needs to cough up all the crap that's in her lungs!

Pneumonia actually is a major threat to the elderly. Although I suspect the majority of those most threatened are already faced with another acute complication or attempting to recover without proper professional care. Pneumonia alone - and while professionally supervised sounds like a circumstance with an extrememly high incidence of normal survival.

PLUS... please don't worry about "pushing" the MED trip too much Monica. I would say you are only guilty of encouraging wonderful and PRICELESS family memories. And at that - I can level a gesture towards you and declare you're guilty of the best intentions with a warm smile!

Lisa, that is horrible!!!! I sure hope it hasn't continued like that through the rest of school. :sad2:

I think you may be referring to the PC Lite (from May in the Med to August in Panama) thread. Some of us that went on the Mediterranean Cruise this May started a thread so we could keep up. It's probably on page 3 or 4 by now :lmao:

On that thread I believe it's mentioned that I have the Roy, but that is for the 5 night after this cruise.

It's the guy that is *best friends* with DisneyNutt (?) -- they've travelled together in the Cat 1's before. DisneyNutt (sp?) is a person that has been banned from the Dis. I know he had the Cat 1's on the med repos - at least when they first came out he had the Cat 1's. Both of them.

I noticed he had the Roy because I'm really hoping a suite opens up -- although DH really didn't like the Roy when we were in it on the 10nt. He found it unbelievably loud at night. He is a light sleeper and the *creaking* of all that wood about drove him over the edge. ;)
I sleep like a log so, the noise didn't bother me at all! LOL!
Dh is really hoping for a Cat 3 since he has never been bothered by creaking in a Cat 3.

If you've got any spare pixie dust today, I could sure use it. My mom's in the hospital with pneumonia and she's have a terrible time breathing. They keep giving her astma treatments, which I keep insisting that she doesn't have, and she still can't breath without wheezing. She's been in since yesterday and we haven't seen any improvement yet.

And oh yeah, the guilt is building. I feel as if I may have pushed her too hard on the cruise.
Sending your mom lots of pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust:

:thumbsup2 Sounds great Sara!!
Ditto. Congrats. :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

I think you are talking about LegalBriefs. He had the Roy on the Mediterranean cruise I was on. He does not have the Roy on this sailing.
