Just wondering if anyone has any idea about Disney transport and which hotels they are recommending. We are wondering whether to book one of the Disney Hotels using our points but still need transport and do not know how far the hotels are from the docks. Help please any information would be great. Also are there any shops either at the docks or near the hotels. Early planning here and can book the fights before long so need to get things sorted.
Brenda

Check out the website for some info on the hotels (still being developed).

I believe you can get Disney transports from DL to the port and there are some members of this group looking into chartering busses for the same.

Stace,We'll keep you in our thoughts for the day.:grouphug: Keep us updated.

My Grandkids are geting progress reports already.

Laura, saw this article about the price cut on the iphone. Check it out!
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/20624042/from/ET/

Also was watching the Today show and there was an story about a woman passenger who got denied boarding on Southwest, as they said she was inappropriately dressed. She looked fine on the show and didn't have a problem getting back on for the return trip.Of course she now has an attorney.
Tried to find the link but :confused3

And last but not least popcorn:: . Hope everyone is aware of the issue with the butter flavored popcorn.http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/20605135/
Haven't seen a reference to this on the board. Thought it was important to post the link.

And now back to your regular programming............:lmao:

I saw that woman this morning on the Today show. Thought it was funny how they tried to keep you in suspense before showing her outfit. I didn't see anything wrong with it either.

Saw this the other day. Of course it comes out just as my kids are going door-to-door for Boy Scouts selling.... microwave popcorn.

Oh..........good luck with trying to sell.:wizard:

Error Error Error....:lmao:

They dock at 5:15 am

So subtract 12 hours from your calculation ....

Plus, they do one less port (Cartagena)

We also get more time in each of the ports (except Cabo where WB is 1.5 hrs more and CC is same)

:rotfl2: Sounds good to me.:thumbsup2

I see Tom has already given you some good info. Just wanted to add my thoughts...........We bought the transfers but I am going to cancel the transfer for LA. We can get a shuttle from airport to Doubletree. They aren't far from port and provide free shuttle to terminal.

OMG we Just Love Buca's ...yum yum yum the canoli is great ....OMG think we need to go within the next week or so ..

I never heard of this place before I went.........now I say I missed so much. The canoli is my favorite !

Very cute!!! :thumbsup2

One time, Angelina got $5 for a tooth left under her pillow, it seemed that night all the tooth fairy had left was a $5 dollar bill in her pouch when she paid her visit. The tooth fairy learned her lesson after that night!!! :lmao:

Yep, our DD told us that her friend was left $10 by the Fairy......we told her it must have been a very 'painful' tooth ;) to deserve such a fine reward.

Ouch! $5 per tooth x how many teeth....

We got the Sakajaweya (spelled way wrong) dollar coins for TF duty. They were unique, easy and added to the illusion (who uses them elsewhere)

Okay this is for all you brainiacs out there. I am at work checking my email yesterday and DH sends me this one. Now, understand that DH never really emails anything to me during the day nor does he particiapte on the Dis - he will ask me to post something but its rare. Anyways, enjoy - I got a chuckle out of it.
:happytv:

Hey it not fair.

The Westbound cruise gets 12.75 hours more on the ship then the eastbound. That is almost a whole day. So why are we paying the same? We should be paying 1/30 less the cost. May not seem like much but if the cruise costs a family of 4 $11,000 then 1/30 is $367. Probably close to the tips for one of the 2 weeks for that family of 4.

The Westbound Leaves at 4PM EST on 5/10 and docks in LA at 5:15PM EST on 5/25. So they spend a full 15 days on board plus 1.25 hours

The Eastbound leaves at 7PM EST (4PM PST) on 8/17 and dock at PC at 7:35am EST on 9/1. So we don't even spend a full 15 days on board. We spend 14 days, 12 hours and 35 mins.

:rolleyes1 DH obviously has too much time on his hands (or brain):rolleyes1

It's still early for me and I'm only on my first cup of coffee......but I followed this and it makes me mad.....I want me few dollars back for the time I'm being jipped!!!! :rotfl:

Somebody posting it annonymously in our breakroom yesterday. Of couse, it just made me crave popcorn. You will notice however, towards the end of the article that this gentlemen made several bags of popcorn per day for several years. I don't see any harm for those of us who have a bag or 2 a week.

Yeah....

.... da "street" rate on tooth donations for the fairy is a bit less in some parts....

I had to leave before seeing the outfit. But from all the comments I've heard, I think I've worn more revealing things than she did.

canon-eos40d-leak.jpg

Oh yeah... today I finally saw a live working display of the new Canon DSLR I wanna get - the 40D. I'm now lusting for the thing.... and I conveyed heavy hints to my spouse that she had "competition" for my affection now... and that Christmas was coming up.... <hint - hint> ... then she reminded me to advise her if I found a suitable "deal"... and not to complain if I get it early for christmas - that is - not to complain "where's my Christmas present?". You see - I did that once before when I forgot one year.... < oops > So .. maybe I'll get the thing before my birthday in April or possibly before the year ends... but really ... I don't expect any deals before the year ends. or rather - not "MY kind of DEAL".

TTFN!

Hmm......It's my B-day in a couple of weeks. I'll need to 'show' this to DW. My 10D is getting a bit long in the tooth.

Yes, Chris (Grandmax3) and I are going to look into the cost of a charter bus from DL to the port . . . we will probably get the info right after New Year's.

It's still early for me and I'm only on my first cup of coffee......but I followed this and it makes me mad.....I want me few dollars back for the time I'm being jipped!!!! :rotfl:

But Monica, remember that we got about 12 more hours on the Westbound Atlantic repo than those on the Eastbound (all those nice 25 hour days rather than their 23 hour ones!) . . . it all evens out somehow.

Howdy Gang,
checkiing iin -- Back in So. CA & having cruise withdrawal!! I seemed to me that 2+ weeks went by way too fast!!! DGS Matt said to me on Tuesday that he was hungry & it took me a minute - oh yeah I'm doing the cooking now!! And the dishes. I sure enjoyed being spoiled!
In fact - that's why I booked the 5 day BTB as did Monica & Todd. 20 days on the Magic sounds really good!!!!

If any of my pics came out okay I'll post some.

On a sad note - I learned when I got home that one of my best friends died suddenly - we'd been friends since I was 16 and I was foster mom to his 3 kids when his wife walked out on them. I'll be flying up to S.F. frequently to be with them.

Bye for now

I'm jealous of all you guys doing 20 days on the Magic!!! How exciting that must be!!!

Sorry to hear about your friend! What sad news to come home to!

Just a quick :drive: by to post a picture of some friends and sights.

and last but not least - here is a quick one of CJS & Tia Dama as they made their rounds on pirate: night. Thanks guys - we felt special!!!

TenerifeEBCrossing297.jpg

Great pics! Looks like you had a great time! :thumbsup2

o.k not sure if I wan't to admit this but EVERY tooth my kids lost I have.:rotfl2: It wasn't till Brooke was helping me pack that we found them in all different places. Yes they were all in something, envelope, little box even plastic baggies.:rotfl2: It really is gross !!!

I have just about every tooth too! Not sure what the heck to do with them? :confused3 Maybe I'll give them back when they're old so they can have them re-implanted!

We've been getting as much done ahead of my surgery as possible....wheelchair, walker/scooter thing, groceries, paying bills in advance. I know it seems silly to go that far, but I just really want to have everything "done" so that I can take my pills and lay in bed and do nothing.
I'll just be glad when it's over with so that I can stop thinking of it as "the end of the world" as I know it.
Monday at noon....once they place the mask over my face, all will be right with the world. Until we schedule the other foot/leg, that is. :sad2:

Take care everyone.

OK....

I'm all caught up now! Today I attended a AYSO referee session - so now I've been drafted into being a REF for the girls soccor team!

OK.... gotta run some late nite chores around the house before I settle down for the nite.

TTFN!

That is nice of you to accept the draft! ;) I know it's a quite a commitment to volunteer for these types of duties so you should be highly commended. It's because of parents like you that these all important extracurricular activities can continue. :thumbsup2

Running in before I have to get to work!

Again..thank you everyone for you wishes....such an exciting time!

Chrissie
(we are telling Brendan's mom tonight about the engagement...wish us luck!)

Good Luck but how can she NOT be thrilled to be gaining such a wonderful daughter-in-law! :wizard:

Hmmmm I always add EXTRA powdered butter flavoring to my light butter popcorn because I don't think the light is tasty enough & I can add flavoring without adding fat. Now I'll have to check if it has this ingredient. I'm sure it does, because it is VERY powdery & I was already concerned about breathing it in even before I read this article.

My kids have started comparing notes lately. I know my DD knows who the tooth fairy is, but DS is still not to sure. When we were in WDW just a couple of weeks ago she said, "Why did he get $5 for that tooth? I usually only get $2!" I replied, "We're in Disney...everything costs more so the tooth fairy decided he gets a little more spending money! It's called inflation!" ;)

Andrew: Thanks for sharing your experience with me. Did they just remove the stones or take out the gallbladder also?

If you have stones they take the GB out. (useless organ we don't need anymore) I do know of some people whose bodies created more stones that lodged in the bile duct afterwards though....

I saw that woman this morning on the Today show. Thought it was funny how they tried to keep you in suspense before showing her outfit.

Uggg all i want is a picture..... Can't find one...
