Howdy Gang,
checkiing iin -- Back in So. CA & having cruise withdrawal!! [edited]
:grouphug: & pixiedust: to all in need.

party: party: :bday: party: party: to everyone & Belated B'days also!

On a sad note - I learned when I got home that one of my best friends died suddenly - we'd been friends since I was 16 and I was foster mom to his 3 kids when his wife walked out on them. I'll be flying up to S.F. frequently to be with them.

Bye for now

Sorry to hear of this Chris...

... We'll be sprinkling pixie dust your way in the days to come.

Our family will be cruising with you in August 2008. I know lbgraves was collecting info before for the group but she said she isn't any longer. Is there still time to join up?

On our last cruise, there weren't any kids at our dining table. We have a DD7 who would love to have someone to chat and play with (she'll be 8 by then). If there's still time and anyone with another DD that age who would like to link main seating reservations, that would be great!

This will be our 5th Disney cruise and we're really looking forward to it! I popped in for a couple of Friday night chats before. Are those still going on?

epa0834l.jpg

I think this is going to be our 5th Disney cruise too - plus we have DDs aged 7 and 4 next year. As we draw nearer perhaps our girls can swap PMs or emails? At any rate - welcome aboard!

Oh - that is perfect!!!!!: rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: Matt now plays that game w/me!!

I do miss Destin - in fact dinner is just not the same w/out all of you!!

I can't get ANYWHERE sometimes when my kids play this "game" with me too! but ya gotta luv 'em for it, eh?

And one last one for a while - if you ask me - someone was enjoying this much too much. Oh wait - can I post this? Its clean - I promise!

Ooooo

I remember this routine from our 11 nite southern last year....

OK....

I'm all caught up now! Today I attended a AYSO referee session - so now I've been drafted into being a REF for the girls soccor team!

Plus - oddly enough we checked our left overs in the to go packages from our Buca di Beppo visit the other nite and noticed we seemed to have been shorted! We had a ton of left overs - almost an entire Fruitti timare (seafood pasta) in the large family size - and I guess we did not notice at the time. Plus I thought our server was pretty unattentive and perhaps a bit pithy at times. Especially since she didn't follow through on 90% of what we asked for (details omitted) - alas - we got most of what we wanted by asking other staff for it or I simply went and helped myself. We were in the kitchen centered dining table so we were pretty much surrounded by staff all the time.... that is excepting OUR server. So - even so - we left a normal "good" gratuity since I rarely if ever complain or send things back. And I was in a good mood although simmerring over the lack of decent attention from our assigned server.

HOWEVER... when my spouse discovered the results of our "shorted" left over take home stuff - she concluded that more than half our remaining dish - which must have gone 80-85% untouched since I was full and we always order the same thing/quantity as a matter of routine - she was quite annoyed. SO she made me call to inform the manager of our suspicians and mild dissappointment. Initially, I was not quite sure what to expect since it was a sort of odd thing my spouse wanted me to communicate to the manager - but he suggested "what can i do to make this right"... and we ended up being offerred a replacement order in the smaller size freshly made tonight. And I thought - that was nice - I was thinking he might just send a discount card or modest gift certificate good for our next visit. That would have been OK I guess - but a fresh order was better since I was hungry for supper.

So we ran right over to pick it up - and to my mild surprise he had a large size order made up - plus a mess of fresh bread - and most of thte fixins - I paused to thank him and re-explain I never really complain - even though I've posted on the DIS one other instance of complaining here recently. And I even told him about that too - but in the end I thanked him and dropped an apropriate gratuity on the spot for his staff - something a little larger then usual since I had a nice free dish.

We've had moderate sized functions at his estabilshment before - and we dine more or less semi-regularly there - as he made mention on meeting me that he recognized me from our last visit....(wonder why or if it were true? Alas...) he remembered where we sat and the time of our visit. So... I'm a happy customer again - more so however because my spouse is happy. When she's in a huff there's no peace in our home.... OK.... maybe that's an over dramatization. <chuckles>

canon-eos40d-leak.jpg

Oh yeah... today I finally saw a live working display of the new Canon DSLR I wanna get - the 40D. I'm now lusting for the thing.... and I conveyed heavy hints to my spouse that she had "competition" for my affection now... and that Christmas was coming up.... <hint - hint> ... then she reminded me to advise her if I found a suitable "deal"... and not to complain if I get it early for christmas - that is - not to complain "where's my Christmas present?". You see - I did that once before when I forgot one year.... < oops > So .. maybe I'll get the thing before my birthday in April or possibly before the year ends... but really ... I don't expect any deals before the year ends. or rather - not "MY kind of DEAL".

OK.... gotta run some late nite chores around the house before I settle down for the nite.

TTFN!

Late night posting...for once, I don't have to get up early for an appointment or meeting tomorrow.

Tina...good luck in your meetings with the surgeons! I'm so sorry you have to go through all that. :flower3:

We've been getting as much done ahead of my surgery as possible....wheelchair, walker/scooter thing, groceries, paying bills in advance. I know it seems silly to go that far, but I just really want to have everything "done" so that I can take my pills and lay in bed and do nothing.
I'll just be glad when it's over with so that I can stop thinking of it as "the end of the world" as I know it.
Monday at noon....once they place the mask over my face, all will be right with the world. Until we schedule the other foot/leg, that is. :sad2:

Take care everyone.

Andy....super-great picture of Angelina. I bet it was nice to see her smile like that!!

You have no idea, that smile melts my heart every time!!!

Best of luck to you with the upcoming surgery, I've had enough of them, so I know how you are feeling these days leading up to the surgery. I will be sending good thoughts and prayers your way!!!

Hey it not fair.

The Westbound cruise gets 12.75 hours more on the ship then the eastbound. That is almost a whole day. So why are we paying the same? We should be paying 1/30 less the cost. May not seem like much but if the cruise costs a family of 4 $11,000 then 1/30 is $367. Probably close to the tips for one of the 2 weeks for that family of 4.

The Westbound Leaves at 4PM EST on 5/10 and docks in LA at 5:15PM EST on 5/25. So they spend a full 15 days on board plus 1.25 hours

The Eastbound leaves at 7PM EST (4PM PST) on 8/17 and dock at PC at 7:35am EST on 9/1. So we don't even spend a full 15 days on board. We spend 14 days, 12 hours and 35 mins.

:rolleyes1 DH obviously has too much time on his hands (or brain):rolleyes1

Good Morning Everyone !
Yeah it's Friday ! Nice I don't have that much to ketchup for a change.:thumbsup2 Seems like Brooke just started school and she has a early dismissal today.:rotfl2:

My Grandkids are geting progress reports already.

Laura, saw this article about the price cut on the iphone. Check it out!
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/20624042/from/ET/

Also was watching the Today show and there was an story about a woman passenger who got denied boarding on Southwest, as they said she was inappropriately dressed. She looked fine on the show and didn't have a problem getting back on for the return trip.Of course she now has an attorney.
Tried to find the link but :confused3

And last but not least popcorn:: . Hope everyone is aware of the issue with the butter flavored popcorn.http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/20605135/
Haven't seen a reference to this on the board. Thought it was important to post the link.

And now back to your regular programming............:lmao:

They dock at 5:15 am

So subtract 12 hours from your calculation ....

Plus, they do one less port (Cartagena)

We also get more time in each of the ports (except Cabo where WB is 1.5 hrs more and CC is same)

Just wondering if anyone has any idea about Disney transport and which hotels they are recommending. We are wondering whether to book one of the Disney Hotels using our points but still need transport and do not know how far the hotels are from the docks. Help please any information would be great. Also are there any shops either at the docks or near the hotels. Early planning here and can book the fights before long so need to get things sorted.
